Good place to bring kids or the grandparents, the restaurant seems to have been here awhile and its customers adept to the noisy ambience, kids running around with bike helmets on(adorbs), plain tables and floors, and service from high schoolers earning their first pay checks. The pancake selection is infinite, food is decent, and there is plenty of free parking in their own lot. The local art for sale in the waiting hall is a nice touch.

When we first got here for breakfast most of the booths were empty and the tables unbussed. Was not very appealing. We asked a waitress if she could clean a booth for us and she did. Took quite awhile to have someone take our order but the food came out quickly. Buttermilk pancakes and their bacon pancakes were good. The coffee was typical diner fare(weak) but was refilled twice. Considering the price and quality it was«ok». The place seemed severely understaffed with the cashier also bussing tables. All in all its ok as long as your expectations arent too high.

My favorite breakfast place when I’m in Edmonds!!! Love their hash browns! And they are one of the only breakfast restaurants that actually have real chocolate milk and not milk with chocolate syrup! Eggs Benedict is a must try when you eat here!

Great food. We left Claire’s and started coming to this restaurant as our go to breakfast spot. Sometimes the wait is long but it is worth it.

You get what you pay for. Great tasting, fair prices. The line is apparently always out the door but the wait is that long. Friendly staff perhaps family run it seems. If you want a full breakfast consistent and of any size come here.

So many great pancake options(I mean I got two bacon pancakes and a chocolate chip pancake with my omelette! errrmagherd!!), really nice atmosphere, good prices and epic portions of bacon. I like bacon if you couldn’t tell. If you’re looking for a fancy breakfast this probably wouldn’t be your cup ‘o tea but for a solid, tasty, American breakfast, hit this place up. We’ll definitely be coming back on reg.

Very disappointing visit. Our fault because we went to a pancake house and didn’t have pancakes. Food was bland, plain, and tasted and looked like it was mass produced. Chuck steak was a Costco frozen hamburger patty, biscuits and gravy had hard and cold biscuits. Bacon was paper thin and cold, and an over medium egg was over cooked. Service was«ok». Wife stated«I think IHOP is better». She doesn’t like IHOP. Too bad the Rusty Pelican had a 45 minute wait.

Great variety of pancakes though some are a bit on the pricey side. To make this review long enough I will repeat syrup… syrup, syrup, syrup, syrup, syrup, butter.

We love this place! Great family atmosphere with quality food at reasonable prices. Our staple is the Chocolate Chip Pancakes… mmmmmm yummy! Although we don’t consider ourselves regulars, we have been there quite a few times. We went this morning and the server already knew what we wanted to order! Highly recommend if you’re in the Edmonds area! You should be prepared to wait for seating on weekend morning though.

This is my breakfast place. Its my favorite! I grew up in Edmonds and this was the place my mom and grandma always took me to for breakfast. Yes, I am being sentimental over pancakes and eggs. But I think they are the best! The place hasn’t changed much in the 34 years I have been going. New booths, paint and they take cards now!.. but its pretty much the same, and I like it like that! Anyway, I like to take friends here. Its not my husbands favorite breakfast place, but its nice when he lets me drag him there. Never change Pancake Haus. just stay as you are.

I got the grilled salmon burger, but it’s not even fresh salmon! It’s basically a round pattie that tastes fishy. The new waiter there is also really, really slow. We waited for at least 10 minutes after getting the menu for her to come back and take our order. Not worth the drive for all of the positive reviews this place seems to have.

Maybe it seems a bit generous to give a 5-star rating to this neighborhood, old-fashioned, kind of dated place, but it has become my Go-To here in Edmonds for reliable service and really good food, so why not? I have branched out from breakfast, and have now sampled other menu items, with great results. The french dip and Haus Dip(ground sirloin) are favorites: The au jus has a good, beefy flavor and the french bread is properly buttered and toasted. The fish and chips are very good, and the cole slaw is some of the best I have had, with the sweet, creamy dressing that I love. The service is efficient and quick, and twice I have been met at the checkstand by a waiter returning an item I left behind. I appreciate the time they take to properly prepare my food, and I don’t mind a little wait in order to get consistently good food. Is it ‘gourmet’? No! Am I on my way down there right now? Yes!

Great diner breakfast. We were able to be seated right away but the line was out the door by the time we left.

My boyfriend and I love this place for breakfast! There’s normally a small wait, but it’s worth it. We like to share a savory item like an Eggs Benedict and then also share something sweet like their Swedish Pancakes or something. Everything has always been delicious!

Went in for a quick Breakfast and I did get that. However the food quality was a bit sketchy not bad but I’ve had better. Would I stop in again I think not.

Food is just ok and the waitress literally stacked my plates on top of one another so one of my plates was smashing and sitting on top of my scrambled eggs while carrying them — not sure why she didn’t use a tray if she couldn’t stack on her arms properly. Also there really isn’t a waiting area and they are usually pretty busy on weekends.

My ol lady came to this place when she was a sprite back in the eighties when the was a pancake haus in the gate of nord. I’m all about breakfast, so we made the trek to edmonds to eat here. The pancake selection is expansive! Service: super quick and very friendly… made me feel like i was part of the pancake haus family. My ol lady ordered an omlette. She said it was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. I ordered the bacon and eggs w a coconut pancake on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisy. The pancake was like hitting a meth pipe for the first time(i imagine) especially with the pineapple syrup. We’ll be back with friends and family!

Went to Pancake Haus for a pre-Valentines Day carb fest on a day off. After reading through some reviews on Unilocal, decided to dive in with my wife. Arrived to a subdued and sparsely populated dining room(score I don’t need the crowds). Seated ourselves per sign We were greeted by one of the waiters within 1 minute asking if we needed anything to drink(aka coffee) and handing us our menus. My wife ordered coffee, I shied from the coffee as I don’t trust diner coffee(Burnt Farmer’s Brother is never on the menu for me). I ordered 3 pancakes and scrambled eggs w/minced ham. My wife ordered 4 pancakes, OE eggs and 4 slices bacon. Changed my tune on the coffee after tasting my wife’s coffee and ordered my own. Score another one here — They brew their(cheap) coffee right. Received our meals within 6 minutes after ordering. * Eggs cooked perfectly * Pancakes light, fluffy and delicious * Bacon cooked to perfection(my wife even split the bacon with me) Mission accomplished… delicious food delivered fast and everything for $ 21 out the door. Would definitely recommend Pancake Haus for a mid-week breakfast. Always good to avoid the weekend crowds :-).

The food was okay. It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t horrible. …maybe because I was just really hungry at the time… I thought they could have made the food better. The pancakes were pretty much dry and bland. They do ask you how you like your food cooked, which was considerate. But it didn’t really compensate for how much of taste and flavor the breakfast plates lacked. However, biscuits and gravy were nice. The service was good, really friendly and nice people. They also refill on coffee. Located pretty deep in Edmonds. It seemed sort of vast when we got there. Not a lot of people, but a lot of old folk early birds.

If this place was as good at refilling your coffee when you’ve only had a few sips as they are at bringing your food in a timely manner I would have given four stars. The food is okay. It isn’t especially good or bad. It isn’t good enough to go out of your way to get. Breakfast food can pretty easily be great. It just needs to be fresh. My cinnamon roll seemed like it was sitting for a while when I received it. My eggs weren’t really warm. My biggest complaint was the time though. 30 minutes from the time I ordered until I got my food. That’s too long anywhere, but especially for a breakfast order. I might go back again, but not by choice.
