Wandering Edmonds a few weeks back, I was surprised, and saddened, to find out that The Winged Pig had closed. I had only been in once, but I loved the drink that I had, and the atmosphere was great. I loved the place, and I thought it was a great addition to Edmonds. I’m very sad that it’s closed, as I was looking forward to returning, so I’m sorry Winged Pig that I didn’t get to enjoy you once last time. Here’s to you!

The Winged Pig is now The Milltown Lounge. Same place and a few of the same staff. What has changed? There is a new paint job that slicks the place up.(The big pig mural is gone, but thats A-Ok by me). There are still the comfy chairs and tables. A cute cozy nook in the back which is great for a small party. I love the beautiful tiled bar and the cocktails actually taste like booze! YIPEE! Adult cocktails are being made. Not the typical” how sweet can I make my drink so I dont taste the alcohol because its yucky and Im barely 21″ concoctions. The Menu has been expanded so you can go for a meal, not just a bar snack. In a perfect world Id be at The Milltown Lounge once a week, if not more…

At first appearance the atmosphere seemed pretty good. I did not like the TV, but then again, I rarely enjoy a TV in a bar considering bars are places you go to spend time with friends or even meet new people. I was there with a friend, we ordered cocktails and I was very pleased with the selection and ordered a French Martini and it was YUM! Sadly… the food was grossly underwhelming… I could have done better if they’d let me back in the kitchen! What’s funny about the cocktail is I told the waitress how much I enjoyed it and then she proceeded to tell me I could make at home. Something that had already occured to me but seemed odd that the bar staff would tell you to make something at home instead of coming there to spend my money. I liked the cocktail well enough that it tempts me back but not enough because the food was lacking. Again, I could do better and have no restaraunt experience. Sad face :( I must also add that I am not entirely sure I am on board with turning quaint downtown Edmonds into a trendy bar scene. I enjoy a quiet place to get a drink and enjoy the conversation of my husband or friends. Sure, the buildings could use a facelift but really… do we have to try to become something we aren’t?

It’s no longer The Winged Pig. It is called the Milltown lounge and very underwhelming. Sad.

This is a great location for drinks during girls’ night or date night. There are many unique drinks on the menu and you can enjoy your drinks over multiple board or card games. Their food selection is wonderful. I recommend the chopped salad and the Winged Pig red wine.

I came in with the idea in my head that they have a modestly ambitious beer list. Turns out I was wrong about this, but they support local breweries, and they have a couple dozen bottles of decent beer. So I can’t knock them too hard for what I misremembered. And let’s be clear – for the wine and spirits drinkers, this place really seems to have it goin’ on. It’s a little bit tricky to find with the construction that’s happening right now(Autumn ’11). Once you get inside, though, the place manages to pull off that trick of making it seem more like a mellow house party than a public bar. The furniture is comfortable, I do believe I saw a fireplace, and the bar looks like somebody decorated it themselves, rather than hiring somebody, but they did an awesome job. The cocktail list seems creative and specialized. The staff is super sweet and friendly and welcoming, and they seem to really know what they’re doing. There’s a cool antique-looking boardwalk outside that makes you feel for a split second like you’re stepping back in time, and, once you get there, you feel like you’ve arrived someplace great. I’ll definitely be back. Great spot for a quiet evening pint.

The Winged Pig is a wonderful addition to the Edmonds bar scene. It is a good bar for that caters to a crowd that just wants a good drink and a bite to eat. It is a nice mellow place with a good mix of musicthat is turned down low. The drinks are well priced… no $ 12 Old Fashions here. They also pour a generous drink. I will say they are still starting out and don’t have a great selection of liquor, but it is getting better. The food is so-so. They have a good idea, but the recipes need tweaking. They are a little big for a bar bite and too small for an entrée. The BBQ sliders were a bit overdone, tough and stringy, and the sauce was not very tasty. The shrimp tacos were ok. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned well. The tortilla was just your average supermarket tortilla that had not been warmed up. The people who run this place are warm and welcoming. The place has a fun lay out and well decorated.

Awesome Ambiance! Really delicious food though it is very spendy for what you get. The drinks were good. Brought quickly and the bartender was very friendly. Two big TV’s for watching the game. I wish they had outdoor seating because this is an awesome location. Forgot one HUGE thing: Bathrooms are SUPER clean! They are through a little hall way and not directly in the Winged Pig which I find with this set up the bar tends to forget to make sure they are clean. These were very clean so thank you

This is the bar that Edmonds was lacking! It feels very simliar to a Belltown bar without the uppity-snobbish feel. It’s more about the cool, funky, yes classy feel. They had a really good music selection the 2 times I have been there and it was at a perfect volume. I don’t like it when I have to yell to hear the person I am with. The bartender(Jeff I think) is a very cool guy. He’s social, yet not intruding. The food is wonderful. Maybe a touch overpriced, but definitely very tasty. This is absolutely my new favorite place. It’s hard for me to get out of the house with a new baby, but this is where I will be headed when it happens :)

Love this place! The cocktail menu is brilliant. The food menu consists of interesting bar food, shrimp and bacon tacos, fondue, a variety of charcuterie and cheese trays. There are other yummy food options too. They have a good beer selection as well. I also SPIED a brand new Happy Hour menu on the other side of the bar. Not sure when it starts, but it’s from 4 – 6 and has a couple food items and cheap drinks! YAY!

This was a nice surprise to find in Edmonds. My boyfriend and I had a nice little date here on a Thursday night. They have couches and more of a «living room» type of vibe. I love the set up. They have pigs EVERYWHERE. Only downside is that they stopped serving food at 10pm, and they are open till 12am. Seems kinda weird to have 3 different seating areas and no food serving a little later. We will be back to try the food soon!

Love the owners and the guy that works the bar but the female blonde bartender needs to be fired. She is so awful. The last time I was in I had the unfortunate experience of having her serve our drinks and it was like pulling teeth just to get her to acknowledge us. And conversation was COMPLETELY out of the question. We’ll come back when she is gone.

Looking to leave the pretentiousness of «The Loft,» the bro-ness of the«Taki Tiki,» and the raggedness of «Rory’s» behind? Look no further, «The Winged Pig» is what you desire, or rather, what you deserve. The drinks: Inspired. The food: Transcendent(the shrimp and bacon tacos are hands down the best bar food I’ve ever eaten in the North-Sound). The atmosphere: Phenomenal. It’s safe to say that in reference to the Edmonds bar scene, «The Winged Pig» is a balmy islet in a sea of mediocrity. When someone mentions Edmonds, I immediately think of seventy year olds and baked goods. I would have never of thought that they could potentially have a legitimate bar scene, that is until now. This joint is like the strange, late 80’s, blues-rock band; tragically hip. «The Winged Pigs» beer selection is top notch. «The Winged Pig» supports 20 foreign and domestic beers and features the Edmonds native«Gallagher’s Galley Mac» on tap! The cocktails, mixed drinks, and martinis are a thing of beauty. When you order a drink at «The Winged Pig,» you get a drink. They do not and let me emphasize, DONOT, skimp on the booze. As for selection you got your essentials(e.g. Side Car, Mojito, and Manhattan) but«The Winged Pig» also offers a selection that they have coined, «Modern Classics.» These«Modern Classics» include a «Bakon Bloody Mary,»(yes, they do place a piece of bacon in it) and a delicious«Passion Fruit Martini.» The food(or at least the tacos) is as I said before, transcendent. As I was eating my shrimp and bacon tacos, I could have sworn, for a split second, I saw the face of god nodding in approval. I am drooling over my keyboard just thinking about these things. Sure, they’re a little pricey, at $ 12.00 a plate, but well worth it. Just read this, «Shrimp Tacos with Flour Tortillas, Lime Cured Cilantro Cabbage, Guacamole, and Mexican Cheese.» «Guacamole» is a huge understatement. As soon as this stuff hit my tongue, I may have cried a little. I’m not ashamed to say I licked the plate like a rabid dog or pig for that matter. The rest of the bar menu looks delicious. I mean, how could you go wrong with«Duck Confit Quesadillas?» Answer: You can’t. The décor is a fusion between a Gatsbyesque speakeasy and your quirky aunt’s house. Couches and comfy chairs line the periphery while tables, booths, and chairs provide ample seating that congregate within the center of the room. The bar is made from what looks like recycled, aged, and weathered wood, a feature that only emphasizes the gorgeous adobe painted interior. «The Winged Pig» has definitely got a homelike feel to it that’s hard to explain. The staff is friendly and very attentive. Each time that I have gone there it has taken the staff under a minute to recognize that my drink is finished, which is extremely impressive(other bars/lounges average anywhere from 8 – 10 minutes). As for complaints, I do have three. There is no happy hour, the kitchen closes pretty early, and they are only open until 12:00am. Overall, «The Winged Pig» is a great place to sit back, relax and have a couple of drinks while also shoveling some artfully crafted bar food down your gullet. Make sure to check it out if you’re into good food, good booze, and good people.

I am giving the Winged Pig 5 stars because it is a much-needed addition to the Edmonds bar scene — I haven’t seen anything else like it. I saw people my own age there — gasp! We do exist!(30s) Love the atmosphere — warm, comfy couches, 2 fireplaces(!), artsy pigs everywhere. The food is very tasty — shrimp and bacon tacos were awesome with plenty of shrimp and excellent guacamole. You wouldn’t go there for dinner per se, but could easily fill up on the«bar food» menu. 2 complaints: (1) There should be a happy hour (2) The draft beer selection is only so-so Other than that, we have without question found our new Friday night hangout.

This is a bar, not a restaurant with a bar. Limited menu of very good, upscale bar eats. Duck quesadilla was exceptional, and the cheese plate well chosen on a perfectly themed pig shaped cutting board. Mojito wasn’t too sweet, just the way I like it. And the chocolate cake moist, warm, and scrumptious. As noted before this is an older crowd, especially for a Friday night at 11. But with food like that in a casual atmosphere, this 30-something will be going back.

I went within a couple weeks of Winged Pig’s opening and I thought it was good. We sat at the bar and had great service. I had a tasty smoked duck quesadilla– I am coming back for that FERSURE. My husband had some sliders that he enjoyed. I liked the vibe, although we were on the younger end of the clientele that night, everyone looked like they were my parents age and we’re in our late thirties. My husband said, «That’s Edmonds for you,».

Is Edmonds the new Belltown? It just might be going in that direction, but it has loong ways to go. However, if you find yourself going to Edmonds on Saturday evening do not miss checking out the latest addition to the restaurant scene. The Winged Pig was supposed to be called the Flying Pig, according to the bartender, but since there is one in Everett, they have decided to «wing» this one. This is a second location owned by the same foodies that own the renowned Epulo Bistro. The place is reminiscent of a fine Italian dining spot with a more relaxed vibe. We grabbed a drink at the Winged Pig before going to diner at La Galleria so I cannot speak as to how the food is, but the drinks were good, house vodka is decent and will not cause endless headaches due to its impurity like Monarch, for example. These people really care to create a great drink without any need for substitution. Service was friendly, fast; atmosphere and lighting perfectly executed. If I find myself in Edmonds again I will go back to check out the food for sure.
