I love their Korean Beef Soup. So heart warming! The price is very good especially with all those banchans(side dishes) I usually go to this place for their beef tendon soup.

The beef bone soup and beef tendon soup here are both fantastic — I would even say arguably the best I’ve ever tasted. The broth in both is rich and creamy — and oh, so soothing and comforting on a cold winter day. For those who have never tried either soup, just be aware that it comes out unseasoned. That is why there is a bowl of salt on the table — you season to suit your palate and also add green onions(also in a bowl on the table). For the more adventurous types, you can ask for a spicy paste that Koreans like to add to bland soups to spice them up(dah-deh-khee). Although they do offer a few other food items on the menu, they often do not have them when you try to order them. Really, you are coming here for the soups. You get a choice of clear vermicelli or party noodles(flour-based white thin noodles) in your soup. Their ban chan is not too diverse, but they are delicious, especially the radish kimchee. Unfortunately, it’s really missing in ambiance… there is one booth that is completely cluttered and unusable. The place is just kind of a mess all around and unappealing to the eye. You are definitely not eating here for the atmosphere. But my family returns here again and again, because the soup is just that good.

Went once during the summer. The soup was pretty bland and we had to ad a lot of salt and spices to bring out the flavor. Have not gone back since.

My boyfriend was randomly craving traditional Korean beef soup(or bone soup as I call it) one day so he took me here since he’s been before and I was pretty pleased! Came in on a Monday during lunch time and the place was less than half filled which was nice because we were seated right away. We already knew what we wanted so we ordered two of the beef brisket soups with japchae noodles soon after being seated. Food came out super quick and came with the usual side dishes plus the sides for the soup(chili paste, green onions, salt and pepper). We also ordered the 6pc wontons which paired perfectly with the kimchi :) I grew up eating sullangtang at home and honestly I don’t think it’s hard to mess up. The broth is simple to make and the seasoning is literally added at your table– it’s served bland so you put in as much salt as you want! It’s just how it’s done. But the soup came out piping hot with a generous amount of meat slices and noodles. The dumplings and soup tasted authentic and homemade. The dumps came in a thick wrapper stuffed with ground beef, chives(?) or some type of greens, and japchae noodles! So yummy. It’s hard to judge the soup because before you add any seasoning in, it’s pretty weak in flavor but you can definitely taste the rich fattiness in the broth from the ox tail bone– that’s how you know it was made right! Once you add in the salt, pepper, kimchi, whatever to your personal liking, it all comes together and creates a filling meal. I left a very stuffed and happy customer. I think I would only come back here just for the traditional beef soup and judging by the name of the place, I’m sure that’s what brings other customers in too! Come try it when you’re craving a nice, hot, and reasonably priced(~$ 9) meal!

Oh I love this place! Their traditional beef bone soup is the best I’ve had in the NW, especially with the beef tongue. The broth is so creamy and flavorful and the texture of the beef tongue goes so well with it! It’s my go to place for Korean beef bone soup. Their radish kimchi is super yummy too ~ another one of my favorites.

Very good beef soup! You can add green onion and salt for your own taste.

Shame on you people. I am very very disappointed. How can you give uncooked shit wrapped in plastic bag and days old spoiled kimchi, uncooked empty COLD soup and COLDRICE and be okay with that. I thought only your server attitude was shitty when I was ordering Togo. I thought you just were tired or something. But this shit you call food… I am so sorry that I ever walked thru your door. Shame on you people for real.

The soup was good, but the waitresses don’t give off a very nice vibe of you’re not Korean.

This place has the best sul lung tang in the Seattle area. The place is usually empty hence my review to get them more customers. Mostly Korean customers, but the staff is well accommodating to non Koreans.

As per the name, this restaurant serves beef bone soup. Aside from mandu and soodobu, they do not have anything else. So if you are looking for a BBQ place, turn around! The beef bone soup comes up pipping hot. You get your choice of meat, clear/white noodles. Please note that the soup is supposed to be bland, there isn’t any seasoning in it yet! You put it in yourself. They have a bowl of sea salt, green onions, chili paste on the table for you to season it to your liking. The daikon and kim chi is super fresh and goes well with the soup. I will definetly come back again!

I went back here for the first time in a while and service was subpar. We don’t speak Korean so therefore, most of the staff is terrified to speak to us, let alone give us good customer service. It’s a shame too… I really liked their soondubu jigae and their seafood pancake but I’m not going to fight Seattle traffic to get poor customer service. Probably great for people who know Korean and are meat eaters. Otherwise, I’m back to the hunt of finding my perfect Korean food joint.

Returned and found it as good the second time as the first. I think the prices changed… and went down! From $ 9.99/bowl to $ 8.99 for the sulung tang. It’s not a Korean BBQ restaurant. It specializes, as do many Korean restaurants, in one thing(though they do serve other dishes). Here it’s beef brisket soup and man… it’s great here, especially on a cold night. The menu is simple which is a good thing because they do it well. One change from my last review: the brown rice is a purple rice.

this place has very limited menu. No Korean BBQ, only 8 to 10 choices you can choose from. So if you want some traditional Korean food and you are really hungry, please beware! The seafood pancake is small and you can even count how many shrimp or seafood in the cake. The beef soup maybe not bad, but honestly I would not spend $ 10 for some soup. They also have very limited Korea appetizers. I only have some kimchi(2 dishes) I would not come back.

‘Sulungtang’ or traditional Korean beef soup is my all time favorite I can never get sick of and this place is almost as good as my mom’s! This soup not only tastes good, but it’s also healthy for you. The broth is made from ox bone and usually served unseasoned so according to your taste make sure to add salt, pepper and chopped scallions. The radish kimchi here is so good, I always ask for more and the lady who served us was really nice. The dumpling soup is really tasty and they have other Korean food here which is all pretty good.

The dumplings were delicious! We also ordered beef brisket soup and beef knuckle soup. There was a lot of tendons in the knuckle soup. The texture of the tendons was perfect, not too soft and not too chewy. We preferred the clear noodle over the white noodle. The white noodle was like pasta.

It was a cold night when we went here and we wanted soup to warm us up. I Unilocaled and I found this spot and so glad we went here. It definitely tastes homemade. The soup comes out super bland and they let you customize the level of spiciness and saltiness. We also ordered the dumplings and they were good.

My family and I wandered in thanks to Unilocal. My Korean born parents seem to be pretty impressed that I can find these rad Korean joints.(Again, thanks Unilocal!) The prices are fab and just pick the cut of meat you are willing to try. The soup comes out with the pure flavors of the beef bone and it is up to you to add sea salt, the spicy yet slightly sweet paste, and/or green onions. I played safe and stuck with the brisket. It was soooo good. We also shared the homemade mondoo(dumplings). The woman was proud to say that she made them herself. My dad and I had the same thing and we were pleased. My mom and sister ordered a dumpling soup and a tofu soup and they both seemed a little displeased. They strayed from the specialty. I don’t order pizza from a burger joint… so I didn’t feel that bad for them. Spring for the quarter coffee machine by the door, it might be an eeny weenie cup but it’s a good little treat! I will be back next time without my family and probably with my husband after a good night out to cute the ails from the previous night’s sins.

Great place to get some soup when you’re cold and feeling sick! TASTE: I got the dumpling soup. The broth doesn’t have a lot of flavor until you add salt to it. Gun told me that this is generally how the soup is served so that each person can decide how salty he/she wants the soup. There were at least six big mandus floating around in the broth and plenty of chewy rice cakes. Also included were bits of beef. PORTIONSIZE: The portions are huge; I could have easily shared my dumpling soup with someone else. I also asked for rice which when mixed into the soup filled me up quickly. SERVICE: Our server was very friendly and recommended some other Korean restaurants closer to where we live. She also gave us a free order of mondus to try out.
