$ 10.95 for bacon and eggs??? I went here in the past, food is just OK, nothing you can’t get for a lot less. I also got a cinnamon roll completely smothered in some know of buttery spread yuck, only ate a couple of bites. The waitress never asked why I didn’t eat it. Go down the street to Bonnie’s special $ 5.95 for the same thing. There are plenty less expensive places to enjoy.

Wow! That was the worst meal ever! Love the one in alpine but this one is outrageous! Don’t waste your time. The food was horrible. The muffin was so hard it could have been used for a good game of stick ball. When we told our waiter he said well it was the last one. The manager who came over was so rude. Totally disappointed. I’ll drive to alpine any day!

Are you kidding me? It cost me $ 20, for Biscuits and Gravy, one egg, and one sausage patty??? WoooooooooooooooooooW!!! I eat elsewhere, same quality food, same amount of food, for around $ 8.00PAYATTENTION to the RIDICULOUS pricing on their menu as you’re ordering.

Love this place.. why is the Alpine janets 30% more expensive? … anyways, Dawna our server was gracious and sweet. Food portions are awesome, real home cooking.

One of my favorite restaurants. I have never had a bad meal here. Great value for your money. Good portions. Very clean. Nice and knowledgeable staff. Shirley and Franciso they are always very polite and friendly. So glad this place is really close to my home. Don’t forget their delicious pastries. I am originally from Chicago and this was the first place I came to three years ago. I love it. This place is the best to get some really great food. I highly recommended this place. :)

I had a great service, my server she was very attentive. I didn’t have to ask to refill my drink she automatically brink another one to the table. I’m very happy to come to Janet’s café I had the fried chicken which is to die for, I’ll definitely come again to try something else… Thanks for the great service!

I’ll never eat at this place again, and I’d suggest you think twice. On Saturday 5 September my wife and I, along with my brother in law and sister in law and niece sat down for breakfast. While we were eating we all witnessed one of the most disgusting things we’ve ever seen. At a table near us sat a father, his daughter(young 20’s) and son(17 – 18). They had their Bull Terrier secured on a leash. When their meal arrived the daughter placed the dog on a chair and started to feed the dog using the fork and spoon. Then she proceeded to allow the dog to drink from the cup of water provided by Janet’s Café. When our waitress returned to our table I pointed out what they were doing and she personally witnessed the dog being fed by the girl using the utensils and allowing the dog to be fed directly from the plate. I voiced my concern, and asked her if that was a standard practice, and how inappropriate that was. I raised my health concerns and health codes. She said she’d speak to her manager. Our waitress never came back to our table. The young lady continued to feed the dog. Then the table nearest them let their kids play and feed the dog as well. When it was time to leave I asked to speak to the manager and it turned out that the manager was the person sitting nearest them, and she was fully aware this was going on. She allowed her kids to feed the dog. I voiced my concerns to her, and she told me that she understands my concern, but didn’t want to do anything because they’re regulars, and she sees them do this all the time. She also explained to me that she didn’t want to create a disturbance. She wasn’t even aware of California Health Standards. So if you eat at Janet’s there is a possibility you’re eating off plates and utensils that pets have used. These are some of the standards that food service need to adhere to when allowing pets to dine outdoors with customers. Pet dogs may be allowed at the exterior areas in outdoor dining areas of a food facility if the following requirements are met: * A separate entrance is present where pets do not enter through the food establishment to reach the outdoor dining area. * No food preparation shall be allowed at the outdoor dining area, including the dispensing/mixing of drinks and ice. * Customer multi-use or reusable utensils such as plates, silverware, glasses and bowls shall not be stored, displayed or pre-set at the outdoor dining area. * Food and water served/provided to pets shall only be in single-use disposable containers. * Employees shall be prohibited from having direct contact with pets while on duty. * Pets shall not be allowed on chairs, seats, benches, and tables. * The outdoor dining area shall be maintained clean. * In cases where excrement or other bodily fluids(urine, saliva, vomit) are deposited, an employee shall immediately clean and sanitize the affected areas. * The outdoor dining area shall not be fully enclosed(a fully enclosed dining area shall be considered to be part of the interior area of the facility). * Business operators must still follow local ordinances related to sidewalk, public nuisance, and sanitation issues & State requirements regarding service animals.

Conveniently located, my colleagues and I frequent this spot. Today we decided on Janets for lunch. We like this place because they have friendly staff, extremely generous portion sizes no matter what you order, and daily specials. Most menu items are priced close to what I’m used to paying at an independent eatery that offers breakfast, pie, and a wide array of menu items ranging from quesadillas to meatloaf. Both of my buddies got dessert with their meals(and they give you a choice between cookies, brownie, or pie), but unfortunately I have to take a star away. Both of those cookies could have doubled as bricks, because they were hard enough to break a window if thrown hard enough. The cornbread muffins were lackluster also. My cheese quesadilla was delicious. The rice that came as a side was also impressive, since it tasted culturally authentic. I tasted but did not finish the refried beans, as I have never been a fan of them. Next time I’ll ask for double rice. Then again, next time I might want breakfast for lunch! If you have to visit the CHP office on East Main street for any reason stop by Janet’s Café for a bite(if you have any money left… LOL!)

I got the turkey melt, it was really good, but didn’t care for the potato salad. My fiends got the avocado bacon burger and it looked delicious! The best part was the service, they are really sweet and on top of everything.

It’s super lame I get charged for an extra plate to share with my 6 year old. Especially considering we were in a large group of people so they weren’t losing any money on us.

Janet is just fine. Regular diner food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nothing stands out as amazing to me. Nothing is terribly bad either. Just solid good food. The ambiance is OK. It’s cute and clean. Nothing memorable. The employees are above average. They are sweet and well trained. You won’t be disappointed, but you won’t be astounded either. It’s a good place to go when you really want to visit with friends or family because nothing will distract you and they are content to let you linger.

Janet’s claims to be a family restaurant… Well this place wasn’t very inviting. I wish the owner was as sweet as her pies look… Only ordered a latte here… And that wasn’t even good. Hope you had better luck than we did.

I tried this place for the first time today. I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. I got a tuna melt and my boyfriend got an avocado and bacon cheeseburger and we both really enjoyed our sandwiches! Their French fries were warm and fresh. And their pies looked delicious! We will definitely be returning sometime! And next time I gotta try some of those yummy looking pies!
