Terrible! Will not be going there again! Service was super slow and they waited 45 minutes after we ordered to let us know they were out of chicken fried steak! After Waiting a long time for our food we had to ask for our salads. Poor poor service.

Always love this place its great! Always friendly staff who seat you RIGHT away(you don’t wait in this place, at least I never have) It’s a very big place that you wouldn’t expect from the outside but its a deep building. Amazing breakfast food that they make all day, the entire menu is available morning — night. You also MUST try the french fries here… amazing

Great food, of course I didn’t order my own meal. Wife got me the fish dinner, grilled with mashed potatoes and a salad. Every one else ordered their own meals. Had plenty of food with extra to take Home. The bbq ribs were awesome. My friend got the fried fish and was very happy. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Horrible place, from décor to food to service. Only gave 1 star because they offer military discount. The menu is too big and therefore the quality sucks. Pricey for what it is. The food took forever and was cold. It is sad when the best part of your breakfast is the english muffin. I had the potatoes skins thingy and was tasteless, the Benedict sauce had a weird constancy and my grits had NO flavor !!!

Today was the first time I have been to Tyler’s and I will go back. Due to only having three stars I almost skipped it but either the place has improved or I was just lucky! My husband and I split a combo plate and we both ate until we were stuffed and still packed up a huge container for later. The prices were very reasonable and the service was absolutely perfect.

Referred here by a friend. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was great down home country cooking! Split the Shorty’s hillbilly breakfast with the sweet potato pancakes and grits. Hearty potions, splitting the meal filled us both! Everything great!

It was around lunchtime, but I was craving breakfast food. I went here on the recommendation of a friend. The staff was very freindly, which was a nice surprise. Our drinks were always full, which was another surprise. Though I hope it wasn’t because we were one of only three tables eating at the time and the staff was otherwise unoccupied. The prices were about average. The portions were above average. Unfortunately, they failed on the food. I had cornmeal pancakes(tasted like pancakes with a hint of cornbread) and they were fabulous! I also had a side of bacon which was nothing special. And I finished the meal with a biscuit, because my friends had ordered biscuits & gravy and I just had try that warm fluffly ball of calories. Tragically, the biscuit was soggy and flavorless. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth as I left. Maybe I just had a bad day? It’s worth trying once, but I will definitely try other restaurants in the area before I(if ever) go back to Tyler’s.

I have great memories of my father in this place. He loved coming here! The place needs some up keeping, but the waitresses are friendly and polite. The food is good, their barbecue is taste! They also have the best sweet potato pancakes! Their soups and spaghetti are really good too. I still come here because of the food and the great memories I have of my dad.

This place is so totally awesome, especially if Debbie or Sandy are your waitress, these two are the best in the house, then again I was a regular there from 2000 – 2009 when I moved to Escondido, I occasionally return after calling first to make sure that either of these two are in the house. In my opinion they are the best, you never have to ask for more of anything they are always checking on you to see if there is anything else that you wanted. I miss being close enough to still be a regular.

Great southern takes on «regular» breakfasts(eggs bacon etc). I had the Chili omelet. it was… okay. but I would always come here when I was little. 9 year old me loved the sh** out of the french toast here. Nom Nom. However…okay just gonna come out and say it, what the f**k happened to this place? Waitresses are kinda rude(none greet you to your table and one waited by our table with a notepad looking to take our order but didnt say the almost expected«hi how are you what would u like to eat» stuff. just stood there. I couldnt tell if she just wanted to fu** the ketchup bottle or what. Bad service. Tyler I used to love you. Oh and the chili tasted like microwave can albertsons sh**. Youd think a «taste of texas» place would at least attempt to make their own chili but no, they would probably f*** that up too.

Floors havent been cleaned since install. Fixtures havent been dusted since hanging. The food is dry and obviously microwaved from a CostCo sized can. Gives a bad name to Texas for sure.

What was i thinking? Why of why did i go back? Oh yeah because my dad wanted fried fish and we were all tired of hearing him whine about fried fish so i said okay i know tylers has fish. I mean how bad can the fish be? I mean yeah sure a few years back i had a steak that tasted like an old boot, but it must have been a fluke right? WRONG! This place is disgusting. Its as simple as that. Its like school cafeteria food, only colder. Our salad consisted of lettuce and croutons. That’s it. WTF where is the tomato, cucumber or even just some measly carrots? The dressing was like ranch water. The side of veggies… what a joke. Frozen microwaved crap. Come on people! This place sucks!

You people and your high ratings for this place should be damned to the darkest, hottest pits of Hell. This is one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had. I am predisposed to adore kitschy, theme-y restaurants when they aren’t done by chains because it shows that the owners are really trying. Well, the kitsch here works but the Egg Skins do not. How could you possibly f*ck up a dish that combines the best of breakfast AND potato skins? Potato skins were way overcooked and the eggs were runny and gross in the middle. The sauce? I’m not even going there. The concept of this dish is GENIUS on paper, but eww, the execution is terrible. I also tried my dining partner’s sweet potato pancakes, apparently a signature menu item here, and was underwhelmed. There are seemingly about 7,000 menu items, which is amazing on its face, but this place needs to pick a few items to do really well instead. I am definitely not going back.

Aww why does this place have a such a low review? I love this place… Anyways, yes, I LOVETHISPLACE! Great BBQ and atmosphere… I love the fact that it is open late night. I remember it was during lent season so me and my cousins decided to eat here… and we waited until 12 o clock midnight to eat some meat. That was the worst 15 minutes of my life… Sitting there, the food waiting for me to devour it… worst 15 minutes of my life… Anyways the food is pretty darn yummy. BBQ sandwiches hit the spot and also, the cornbread is so damn good. One thing I like to do is get the warm corn bread, smash it in a bowl, and mix milk and honey with it. OMG… I haven’t been here in a while but when I’m around, I’m sure I’ll come by and get some BBQ. Highly recommend.

Full of cops. Full of deep fried goodness. Full of post party East Cty A– listers. Full at 3am. This place is a consistent go-to when you are out and about after hours in the EC. Good sandwiches, breakfast and southern specialties. WHENYOUGO– Don’t get into a drunken conversation with any of the cops having coffee– they check their sense of humor at the f’n door! Try the fried catfish if you’ve never had it. If you have, try Bud’s instead. Breakfasts are always the best choice at Tyler’s.
