This place is always so warm and friendly. The food is bomb too. So hearty and filling. They added some healthy options too and they look great too. Chicken katsu, short rib, and pulled pork are all great here.

Just came in for a quick bite something small because just finished shopping at target. first I ordered the spam masubi. I paid and then realized they had a Portuguese sausage spam masubi. So I had to order that. The young lady that was working was kind enough to let me change my order before the cook made my other order. When I got my masubi I felt like it had too much rice but overall it was good and great service. I’ll definitely come back again

Had the shrimp platter, it was alright not the best the rice was a little dry but the BBQ sauce seems to be homemade and it was very good

It took one trip to this place and I became addicted. The food here is delicious. Everything tastes fresh and they have really great healthy options as well. The bbq mix plate and chicken salad are my favorites. The macaroni salad is delicious! The service is great and the place is always clean.

So nice to be greeted with a warm«Aloha» & a smile by the counter person. The Chicken Katsu was ono as usual but the Mac salad was a little watery but still edible. The place is nice & clean. So glad they keep it «Hawaiian» by playing Hawaiian music & display Hawaiian décor, including the L&L surfboard. Enjoyed hearing some of my favorite Hawaiian music I haven’t heard in years. I usually go to the L&L on University & College since it’s closer to where I live. That place has a weird smell and the Hawaiian décor, including surfboard has been replaced by flat screen TV’s. I go there for just the food & not the service or experience. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again because I love the food & the Hawaiian vibe takes me back«home» for a little while.

The food is not bad but then again my Hawaii style grinds standards are high. Visited L&L a few times and the workers seem nice. They greet you with«Aloha» when you walk in. This is your typical L&L however there’s a funky odor the past few times I’ve been there. It seems like the mop that they use to clean the floor is dirty or stinky. The area by the drinks is always messy or not cleaned up. The food is always good. I order the Kalua Pig and the BBQ Mix Combo., The beef stew is also not bad. Overall, since I live in East County, I will definitely return as often as I can when I need quick Hawaii food fix.

First time to L&L Hawaiian BBQ, on Broadway in El Cajon. It was like being back in Hawaii, the food was aweaome. Sticky rice, mac n cheese, and pull pork with cabbage. So good, could not finish portions are big and soooo good. Wife had chicken bowl and it was her second time eating Hawaiian. She loved it and no soy sauce, just as served. Next time Loco moco.

«It’s Aloha Friday no work till Monday»…like the song goes but today was Sunday and it felt like an Aloha Friday just walking in, we were greeted with a friendly«ALOHA» by the sweet lady working behind the counter. We were the first customers of the day since they open at 10:30am on a Sunday. This was a random stop because a store nearby didn’t open until 11am and we were starved already. I’ve been to plenty L&L locations on the mainland and in the 808. This location is so convenient, near shopping, off of Broadway, and parking is literally 2 steps and you’re inside. The Hawaiian music was playing and it just felt like I was back in the islands, reading the Star Advertiser newspaper, and looking at a menu with all my favorites on it. Nuff already… Ho brah les get down to da Ono kine grinds… we ordered da kine uh… pork Lau Lau a la cart, 2 spam musubi’s(brah cuz my hub no like share wit me), 1 mini chicken katsu(cuz…no can hang like I use to in da 808 days), &2 lilikoi Hawaiian Suns. Hahaha… so this haole girl forgot all her pigeon. Anyways, my Lau lau had more fat than desired. The spam musubi’s were freshly made, hot, and bigger than normal. I could have eaten 2 but I was being good. The chicken katsu was crispy, the Mac salad was Ono, and the sticky rice was perfect with aloha shoyu on it. Our son was enjoying every bite. I saw some signage posted on the walls and windows for the famous ramen burger that became a hit in Hawaii. They offer it here if you dare try it. Also, they make ahi poke fresh daily. As we began to clean up and leave, the place filled up with customers. Glad we stopped by on a whim. Its always nice to be able to enjoy Hawaiian bbq so far away.

My boyfriend and I went here because we were just craving some chicken katsu. When we first walked in we were greeted by a very nice lady at the counter. We placed our order and not that long after the very same lady at the counter came out and gave us our meal. The food was awesome! The chicken was crispy, the rice was fluffy and enjoyed the macaroni salad. I also ordered a side of spam masubi and it was pretty good too. The place is clean and has some outside seating for those that want to chat outside. Highly recommended if you’re craving some affordable chicken katsu.

Friendly service given & quick take out. First time at L&L & I had the Ckicken Katsu. Not impressed, sadly. I wished there was flavor in the mac salad. Even pepper would do it justice! Dinner tonight was 2 stars.

This is strictly for their Catering services! I have never been to this location, but the owner, Rudy, is very friendly and willing to work with a budget. I had my wedding at Eastlake Country Club in Chula Vista, and chose NOT to go with the Eastlake L&L because Rudy was much nicer and his prices were way better! All of our guests said the food was delicious! Rudy introduced himself at my wedding, and everything went perfect. Thank you so much Rudy and staff that catered my wedding!

So my family always orders L & L for big parties from the PB location and it’s always amazing. Because I enjoy it so much we decided to see if things changed over here. Thank God it has. We’ve eaten here a few times recently and they exceeded our expectations. Thank you L&L for the great food and service. I honestly appreciate the change.

Only went here once and that was enough. Meat was really fatty. Service was sub par. They need to put move love into the food here. Dreadful.

The food is noticeably cheaper then other L&Ls while still maintaining that juicy quality people still expect. BBQ beef and a soda is the best to go lunch ever.

I love the BBQ chicken plate, the macaroni salad is amazing but the customer service is really hit or miss. My boyfriend and I decided to swear off this location after coming by on our lunch break one day. We put our order in, paid, and waited for our food. We were there awhile and everyone else was getting served before us so I politely asked for a refund so we could get back to work since our lunches were over. The cashier tells me that she accidentally gave our order to someone else and they were almost done remaking it. I told her it was fine, everyone makes mistakes and that I’ll just take the refund. Suddenly a man comes from the kitchen, apologizes, and gives us our food. This isn’t the first time we’ve dealt with mixed up orders so we decided its better to spend our money somewhere else more reliable.

The best L&L in my book. We go here for the ahi poke with a side of rice all the time. Huge pieces of fish. I remembered one of the times a young man named Justin I think was very helpful and friendly. When I ordered the poke combo, he recommended that if I got the poke and rice separately it would cost less. I love saving money so I took his advice. He provided great customer service. I will keep on going back.

Bummer about this place… it has changed since I came in 2009. Since being on an L&L fixation lately,(note my reviews)… I thought, I would drop in here… :(okay look the service was nice… the food was ok, but nothing that gave me the Aloha feeling an L&L is supposed to deliver. Sticky floors, the kind where your shoes stick a little when you walk and make that tape ripping sound… ehhhhhh… sat at a table and my arm stuck to it… ehhhhhh First thing I see when I walk in, is THETOILET… what? Why the hell is the bathroom door open and propped open… Not what I want to look at while I am ordering or eating food… Everything inside the dining room had a sticky feeling, greasy residue…
