I order to go on my way home ~ the noodle was oily! After eating had really bad stomach ache and lasted for weeks! Will never go back again!

I go to all other Liang’s Kitchen location, too. But this location gave me food poison.

I don’t really have any good things to say about this restaurant except that the lady who served me(owner I guess?) was very friendly. I was surprised and happy to find out there was a Liang’s Kitchen in El Monte, so close to where I work! But it was a total disappointment! The location is horrible! It’s not even in a strip mall, and there are only 3 – 4 parking spaces. And the restaurant itself… I couldn’t tell it was a restaurant. It looked just like a kitchen+closet, seriously! Once I went in it already killed my appetite. I ordered spicy beef noodle stew. It didn’t taste good and it was a very small portion. There were only 2.5 pieces of very hard beef, salty! That was the only food I tried. Maybe other dishes are good, I don’t know. There is just nothing that makes me desire to go back, I’m sorry. I really want to suggest the owner to remodel the restaurant. It doesn’t have to look fancy but at least make your customers feel welcome!

Okay, first of all. I absolutely LOVELOVELOVE Liang’s Kitchen ! Just not this one in particular. If I could give it ZERO stars. I probably would. It was around 7:30 at night and I was driving around with the little brothers looking for the JYTH Dumpling restaurant. We happened to see that a Liang’s Kitchen had opened up so we gave up our search for dumplings to have something more familiar. BADCHOICE !!! The restaurant was EMPTY and the entire restaurants’ staff were sitting outside watching JLin strut his stuff on the big screen. It took us three tries to finally get the waitress’ attention. When I finally got it, she started pressuring me into ordering EVERYTHING on the menu. Which was definitely NOT happening. –__-« I ended up ordering: –Green Onion Pancake(Tad too oily for my taste) –Beef Roll(It had little preserved veggies in there that were actually delightful) –Smoked Duck Leg(They ended up giving me some Fried Chicken Dish instead) –Fried Pork Chop(Wayyy too oily. By the time I got home, it was sitting in oil) –Braised Ox-Tail(Not bad, but not as flavorful as the Arcadia location) It took them about 40 min to finish making my food. Also, the portions at this location were a lot smaller for the same price. I felt completely ripped off when I got home and opened up my boxes. I am most definitely NEVER coming back here again. It was a waste of my time AND money.

I’am always on the look out for delicious Noodles… I just miss my childhood trips to Taiwan and eatting the best noodles all over town that my mission in life is to find the noodle that taste like the noodle stand by my grandparents home in Hsinchu… Well this place didn’t taste like Taiwan but it sure was good… I love getting the Dan Dan Noodles… Its like peanut butter, soy sauce, sesame all mixed together, it’s one of the better Dan Dan noodles I’ve had around… The best I still got to say is No. Noodle House in Rowland Heights… I also like the onion flavor noodle with an egg on top… its a bit dry for me but its simple and full of flavor. Za jiang mein(I can’t spell it) is delicious. I always wish they had a larger plate… Full of flavor with little meat/tofu chopped up mixed with some brown sauce… and I can’t forget the tofu/peanut plates. Everything on the menu is great! You can’t go wrong — even the rice dishes are excellent, if you’re hungry give this place a try… You’ll definitely come back for more.

This is my first time at this particular Liang’s Kitchen. I usually go to the one in San Gabriel inside the Hilton Plaza, but since I was around the area I thought I’d give this location a try. From the outside, it looks like your standard restaurant. However, I cannot say the same for the inside. This place is GHETTO and I usually love hole in the walls! When you first walk in, there is this absolutely random fuseball table right in front, but only one side is playable because the other side is blocked by bamboo benches, covered with random junk — like a tool box, storage boxes, cases of soda, and old newspapers. It kind of defeats the purpose of having this gaming table if you can’t play with it. Perhaps it just serves as a table or decoration. All along the floor, you’ll find extension cords laying around as well and next to some of the patron tables are more random boxes, beach coolers, and outdoor BBQ grills. I felt like I’m in an episode of Hoarders! The food itself for the most part, followed Liang’s recipes but was a bit on the salty side, particularly the stewed tofu and combination platter. It’s definitely better at their other locations. For entrée I normally get the beef tendon soup with green onion scallion pancake, but I thought I’d switch it up today, so I ordered the 3-taste chicken, which I thought was pretty decent. My sister ordered their bean-paste noodles(tza jiang mien). That had more of a sour vinager-y taste than I’m used to in this type of dish, but I still thought it was edible. My sister, on the other hand… hated it. Luckily we had the 3-taste chicken to share. All in all. the food was mehh – okay at best. Advice: If you want to try Liang’s Kitchen… I suggest checking out another location, or ordering to-go from here because if you dine in at this El Monte location, you probably won’t come back.

Everything I tried was overly salty. The beef noodle soup, the stewed tofu, the wonton soup and the ox tail noodles. There are tons of better choices in the San Gabriel area.

Awesome there’s a place like this in El Monte. Service is friendly, food came out super quick! Food was great, reminds my parents of the food they ate at Taiwan. Love the green onion pancakes, #3 dry beef noodle. and the beef rolls. We were even given free cold curd noodle! Décor is lacking, bit I never really noticed it. Usually when I got there an NBA game on the TV so I doubt anyone noticed: P

I had no idea that there was another Liang’s Kitchen here on Valley, but apparently it’s been open to the public for about a month or so. From what I hear, the kitchen here actually cooks many of the pre-made foods that are sold at all the other branches. Liang’s Village Cuisine up on Baldwin is definitely one of my favorite restaurants of that Taiwanese style. The food here was similarly good. I love the sesame noodles and the spicy wontons; I usually get both those dishes whenever I go to the one up on Baldwin, so I went with what I knew. And, it tasted just as great. If you’ve ever been to any of the other Liang’s branches, you already know what to expect. Unfortunately, quite a few of the items on the menu are crossed out, since they’re only served at other locations. The décor and the ambiance is a bit lacking. This place is sparse, industrial, and a little bit messy, with coolers laying around and office papers and clipboards etc. Yes, I know you’re running a business, but when you start serving the public, try to keep up a somewhat nice appearance. I personally don’t mind all that much, but it was enough of an issue for me to mark it down from the 4 stars that the Baldwin location deserves. So I guess if you’re in the area and want some good Taiwanese food, you can’t go wrong here. But if you’re closer to any of the other locations, that would probably be a better choice.
