I have passed by this place for years but never stopped by. Because my kids were craving pizza for lunch and my youngest can’t eat wheat, I decided to try Sir pizza & chicken. The broasted chicken is amazing! However it does have a coating so I had to peel that all off for my youngest kid to eat. Pizza is good too. Tastes good when fresh but didn’t wow me as anything super special.

Don’t know about the chicken, but the pizza is terrible. The fact this place has been in Groupon should have told me something. But with all the great reviews and my desire to support small business, I gave this place a try. I was disappointed big time. ==================== Ordered a large Sir special for pickup, their signature pizza. Maybe I should have ordered single slices. because these guys sure as hell can’t cook a whole pizza. Initially, everything looked great and delicious. Until you try to eat it. Soggy, wet, and even uncooked raw pizza dough in the middle. Made me want to gag and throw up. However, the outside edge of the pizza looked like it was burnt; even overcooked. So how can a pizza be burnt on the outside edge and wet and uncooked in the middle? Allow me to share my amateur DiGorno cooking experience with you; a professional pizza restaurant establishment. Possibility: 1. Frozen Dough — The pizza dough was left over from some time ago and they froze it instead of throwing it away. The yeast and baking soda or whatever they put in there absorbed the extra moisture and they cooked it without thawing out first. The freeze along with a sudden 350−400+ temperature of the oven caused the dough to not rise therefore to be unevenly cooked. 2. DiGorno Style — The entire pizza was premade and frozen and they tried, though unsuccessfully, to follow the reheating directions as the order comes in. Essentially a $ 17 DiGorno. 3. Frozen Vegetables — The lady said«This is how a pizza is suppose to be. The juice from the vegetables makes the dough wet so there is nothing I can do. I cooked it, its cooked and this is the way we serve our pizza and no one has ever complained.» I understand your embarrassment and even feel sympathy for you as you mistakenly think a pizza is suppose to resemble the texture of a double dip pastrami sandwich. I’ll even Allow you to say«no one has ever complained.» I say ALLOW you with a lot of tolerance. Not one established restaurant in the world has never received a complaint before. That is just statistically impossible. On one hand, your correct lady, vegetables do have juices. Thats common sense. But your mistaking vegetable juice from ice crystals that form during the freezing process. You see, vegetable do not hold enough water to make a pizza dough wet and soggy even after baking it. The baking process extracts moisture. Especially if your cooking vegetable in an oven much like on a pizza as toppings. Unless your putting watermelon on as pizza topping, there is simply not that much liquid to drown the dough. What is more plausible is the vegetables your using are frozen pre-cut vegetables. You soaked the frozen vegetables in water and it picked up more water. Or you skipped the thawing process entirely and went lazy so the frozen vegetables thawed out during the cooking process along with other ice crystals and the dough absorbs all the water from ice and it can’t cook evenly. ==================== Basically, there are not a lot of ways to mess up a pizza to the point one wants to throw up. But this place found it. If it wasn’t for the lady’s miserably failed attempt to justify their horribly made pizza I would have thought it was a mistake and let her try again or taken my money and left it at that. Seriously, the pizza looked great and smelled delicious. But since you extend your time to educate me on how pizzas are«suppose» to be soggy with water and uncooked dough, I will return the favor and let you in on how charging people for substandard food is best left to franchises. BTW, Can’t wait to try your chicken. Just be careful, unlike reheating frozen pizza in a oven, frying frozen chicken can cause the deep fryer to explode. Safety 1st!

Broasted chickn was the best! It is not greasy and very tasty. Only disappointed that drumsticks and wings are VERY small in size. The drumsticks are little larger than drummets. Spuds are delicious and pizza is just okay. Crust is a little tough.

I purchased a Groupon for this place. My review is for the HORRIFICCUSTOMERSERVICE this place has. The old lady at the register is SOOO rude. When I gave her my Groupon, she rolled her eyes. I ignored it thinking I misread her or she was having a bad day. When we went up to get our drink refills(which is included), she had the nerve to tell her coworker(an Asian man) as we walked back to our table«What’s with everyone having a Groupon and now they want refills?» And he responded, «I know what you mean». I’m sorry old lady and Asian man, but here’s a reality check: THATISYOURJOB!!! You should be grateful for Groupon, otherwise people would not visit your place, it’s dirty and smells in there. If you don’t want Groupon users, then don’t advertise on there! You don’t need to be rude and condescending to people! Don’t waste your money at this place.

Finally had a chance to try this place after passing it for years. I was very pleased by the flavor of the chicken. It’s well seasoned and just crispy enough to entertain the mouth. The pizza had a good tasting sauce and pepperoni. The pizza bread is worth mentioning since it was well balanced with flavor and crunch around the ends. The only disappointing item were the spuds. After reading reviews about how good they were supposed to be I guess I expected more from them. They are basically just plain baked potato wedges, no seasoning. Over all it was good experience and I look forward to eating more of that chicken

I don’t know about the pizza, but the chicken was pretty good! We ate it before taking a picture. I would go here again

I LOVETHISPLACE. Broasted Chicken goodness that I always crave. It is healthier than fried chicken and much juicier. I am a fan of Popeyes but I would choose SIR Pizza over them. Their chicken is broiled and roasted which gives it the perfect crunch with juicy meat. You must order a side of spuds to complete your order. Their pizza is also delicious and has a very thin crust. All their ingredients taste fresh.

I’ve been on hold for over 11 minutes and they hung up on me and now won’t answer my call? I’m just a costumer trying to order some food

Kinda like this mom n pop joint. Their pizza isn’t out of this world. Can’t beat my favorite(Pizzanista in DTLA Arts District), but I wouldn’t mind ordering it again. The food here is simple, comfort food. Never had broasted chicken before, so it was interesting to try. It basically tasted like regular fried chicken, but«healthier». It’s like a lighter and less seasoned version of fried chicken. Kind of wish they have Cajun spiced flavor, but adding salt & pepper would do the trick. The broasted chicken is actually tasty, but not as flavored that’s all. All in all, would come back.

When I heard about this spot I was excited. Pizza by the slice just around the corner from my house. However, the pizza was good but the lady at the register was rude. I’m all about customer service and if you can’t just be friendly then you won’t get my business. I’ll just be heading elsewhere when ordering pizza. Thanks for the tummy food but I won’t be dealing with rude people.

First time trying broasted chicken and my family is hooked! We usually order take out, so this review is for take out only. The chicken is not oily or too salty. It’s cooked to perfection. The service is great and it’s nice to support a small business. I’ve tried other broasted places to compare. This one is the best and consistent! If you’re in the area it’s a must try. Great to bring to a pot luck if you’re too lazy to cook too ;)

I love family owned pizza places. I work near by so this is my pizza go to place when craving. I’m happy with an individual slice of pepperoni cheese pizza. It’s reallyyyyy good. Most days they’re really cheesy, soft and yummy and on rare days, it’s kinda hard/crispy. Either way it’s still good. Weird though, one time when I order a whole large pizza, it didn’t taste as good as the slices. Not sure why? Or if it was just that day? But I’m not sure, I’ve only order a whole pizza once. Usually order by the slice. They’re pretty big for an individual slice. So THUMBSUP on the individual sliced pizzas. 8.5 of 10 on that. THEIRCHICKENISAMAZING. 9 of 10! Pretty juicy! I think I had a thigh when I first ate it, and OMG to dieeee for! Not sure if all the pieces are like that, but the one I had is pretty good! Service though, kind of slow. Sometimes the cashier is also the chef/cook/baker. Which makes service pretty slow. All in all, this place isn’t bad. I’d at least try it a few times if you haven’t tried it yet.

My fiancé and his family love this place and I’m a total convert! Great pizza and chicken, spuds are just an extra! Spuds are always soft inside, full and smooth, it’s hard to stop yourself. Pizza always has a great amount of cheese and pepperoni, which is what we always get. I love this place and with pizza and spuds, it’s a tad pricey, but we never regret it! Would have gotten 5 stars, but the onion rings… Not again, please. I got out of our usual order and added a side of onion rings… I’d hoped for way better, but maybe because the lady wasn’t there. :-(totally gross and over-fried. I’m picking thru what’s not Rock hard. It’s only been a few minutes. This place is great, if I could have 4.3 stars I would! But the onion rings this one time weren’t cool.

This place reminds me of the old school pizza places my folks used to take us in the 80s. I always drove by but never stopped in until yesterday. Pretty good pizza and chicken although the fried chicken stands out in my opinion, juicy and flavorful. The ham/mushroom/olives was plentiful and delicious and a thicker crust then what I like but its still tasty. Called in my order and as pleasant as they are answering the phone was the same in person. Definitely will be going back, reasonable pricing for family combo meals!

One of my favorite LOCAL pizza joints. Don’t try and compare this to your Dominos’ or Pizza Hut because this is better than that! They have a single slice pizza special which is $ 1.99 for ONE topping and each additional topping is $.50 so you can add as much toppings to your hearts desires! As for myself, I ALWAYS get the Hawaiian which is pineapple and ham or the Hawaiian + pepperoni if you want something a bit saltier. These toppings never fail me ;) They have a thin crust here and tend to be generous with toppings which I love. Not only do they have pizza, they also have BROASTED chicken. What is broasted chicken? Chicken that has been cooked by combining a technique of pressure cooking AND frying. It doesn’t get any better than this. To top it off, all of their individual/family meals come with BROASTED potato spuds and garlic bread. A two piece combo starts at $ 5.49 and as 12 piece family meal starts at $ 21.99 Now, what should you eat. BOTH! Kidding. Not really, I’ve actually had both in one meal before. *embarrassed* Tip** good place for family & kids. they have some arcade game machines inside OR you can visit action lanes after to have some fun

I have been coming here for years. Its close and pretty cheap. I like that its a small business run by a local family. They make their pizzas fresh and sell them by the slice and by the pie. Their pizzas are thin and pretty big. They also have some food sandwiches and, fried chicken. All in all this is a overall great place for food, you cant go wrong but definitely recommend their pizza! The interior has a great home-y feel. Located in the same plaza as cha café, pretty easy parking. good food for a good price, support small businesses!

Nothing wrong with Fried Chicken and Pizza! Very small hole in the wall joint. In the same plaza as Cha Café. Service was friendly. Small eating area. I was really surprised how many take out orders were picked up when I was waiting for my order. 8 Piece Chicken Pack — $ 10.99 — Good mix of drumsticks, wings, and breast. Seasoning is nice. Fried perfectly and meat was hot and juicy. Very good fried chicken but I like Church Chicken more. Next time I will try the pizza.

Boyfriend and I decided to try SIR Pizza ‘n’ chicken one evening. If you’re looking to go on a diet, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking to find a decent, cheap and most unhealthy for you… this is your spot! =FOOD= Combo #1: Small Cheese Pizza, 6 pieces chicken, 6 pieces broasted spuds. It wasn’t until this place that I learned what«broasting» is.(Frying with a pressure cooker and apparently with ingredients from the Broaster company? Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.) Did it taste marvelous? Mmmm… it was okay. Flavor was decent and the potato was moist and piping hot. The chicken was pretty good too. Large, super juicy, but also pretty greasy breasts. How do I like my chicken? JUSTLIKETHAT! 6 pieces was a lot… boyfriend and I could not finish it in addition to the pizza! The pizza was not bad, but it was pretty greasy. I haven’t had fast greasy pizza for a loooong time. Usually, I am ordering fancier gourmet pizza with fresh/healthier toppings. This time, we opted for sausages, pepperoni and mushrooms on top of the pizza. The toppings weren’t scattered quite evenly, but it didn’t matter too much. Thick, tasty, and oh-so-cheesy! Definitely preferred over those yucky pizza hut/dominos pizza. =SERVICE= Maybe it’s because I was starving, and they prepare it so well, but it felt like the whole meal took a while to make. The servers and hostess were very nice and friendly though so it made up for the time. The lady knew we had a large order so she even helped us merge 2 tables together for us. =FINALVERDICT= If you’re in the area, and you’re trying to get yourself some Pizza Hut or Dominos, come to SIR Pizza & Chicken instead! Good pizza and chicken and good service! Great amount of food for the money you pay! Seriously, boyfriend and I couldn’t finish it so we ate it the next morning as well. @.@ Fatties for life!!!
