If you’re in the mood for mind bending food poisoning this is just the place for you! For a very reasonable price you can get closer to the porcelain God than any one in history. Such a bargain! This happened to a couple friends of mine and the 5 points Pisstro. Avoid at all costs.

This review is for the food only. (The music, drinks and staff are all wonderful.) Don’t get the pork nachos. Violent food poisoning.

Eclectic and weird bar /patio pub restaurant. Food is absolutely to die for and the people are friendly. It’s a bit understaffed and service is kind of slow but not in a bad way. This place reminds me of the bar in friends with better food. It’s an Austin feel in El Paso and it’s a bit quirky but I loved it!

Been here several times. Went in for drinks on a slower Friday. Back bar was left entirely unattended because the two bartenders were out in the street near the patio trying to purchase perfume from a street vendor. Went up front to try to order and was flat out ignored because, guess what? Everyone was trying to order from the only open bar. Finally get a drink. Sit down and immediately leave because one of the bartenders is smoking a vape pen and indiscriminately blowing it into people’s faces. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere with better service, they take customers for granted here. You get better, friendlier service at the PI and that place is a dive bar!

Located in central El Paso, 5 points is housed in an old residence. The bar inside seats 5 or 6 with two rooms of tables for dining. They have a large outdoor seating area that is actually two sections, one with an additional bar that can be sealed off from the larger seating area that also has a stage. Flat screen Tv s can be found inside and out. The Reuben sandwich is one of the best I have ever had. They top it with fresh saurkraut, thin sliced cucumbers, their own special sauce, and plenty of meat. I ordered it with a side of french fries that came with a spicy type of ketchup. My friend ordered the falafel and couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. He ordered sweet potato fries that came with some slightly sweet vinaigrette looking dipping sauce. The waitress also brought out a cardboard beer six pack container with six other different types of sauces to put on whatever we wanted. The pickles that came with the sandwich where as untraditional as the many different sauces. Instead of your normal dill pickles, these were spicy! Fries cost extra so it was around $ 12 a plate. I have been many times and the service has been hit or miss. I have had great luck with the male waiters, not so much with the females. The waiters have been polite and on top of it, while the waitresses have been distracted to the point of being rude. I have only been for drinks on the patio once. It was in the spring and they still had the space heaters out so navigating between the tables was a little difficult. The sound from the jukebox was good, but too loud making conversation difficult. It had a unique feel to it, and I wouldn’t say no to going back.

Dive bar dive bar dive bar… some of you might find that the attraction. But, when you name a place«bistro» the image that comes to mind is not the atmosphere, service and menu choices at this place. Parking is limited out front so head around the corner or in the back. The place is decorated in early America tacky… eclectic at best. The menu has burgers and other bar food. The fries appear to be fresh cut and are huge but could use a better blanching process to crisp them up. The burgers are legit but why do cooks insist on putting so much pepper on the meat… dude or dudette, just a dash of salt… smaller dash of pepper. My burger would have been aces with out all the damn pepper. The place also needs a good cleaning. Things are bit sticky… napkin holders sugar packet holders, table top tents, chair backs… you get the idea. Drinks are cheap during the day but I have heard during special events they nail ya. I dug the old claw bath tubs they use behind the bar for icing down the beer. Would I come back… most likely, would I recommend it to a friend or go our of my way to come back here… highly unlikely.

there was a hot tub in the patio tonight fulla adventurous 20 something’s earning their spit swap badges(herpes hot tub) which wouldn’t have been too distracting if service had been merely mediocre, but it was barely that. I think I saw my bio-dad more often than I saw my server which is a shame because the food(pulled pork sammy & pita quesadilla) were generously portioned & flavorful. to add insult, my card was charged without an itemized receipt(was I charged for that jack n coke I never received or was I double charged for the fries I had to order twice?). there are plenty of sandwich & beer joints in this town to bother with this one.

Really nice venue… good band… the big detractor was the price for my drinks… The beers were really hot! Waitress’s stood behind the bar we only saw her once but still expected to get tipped. This was my first time here. I’m from El Paso but now I live in a bigger city where I’ve never experienced something like this. From what I here the food inside is excellent but of course it’s to expensive! I will not be coming back. This place gave me a bad taste of El Paso. We should of known better when we saw how empty it was. The only customers we’re the bands fans.

Anyone who has ever had to plan get-togethers in El Paso knows how important it is to find a good«central» location as both eastsiders and westsiders will always complain that the other’s area is «too far,» and how challenging it is to find a central El Paso venue that isn’t ghetto and people will actually want to go to. I’ve found myself in such a situation with my alumni association and I’m really glad for 5 Points. The food is very good, menu is mostly sandwiches made with fresh baked bread from their next door bakery, and they make steak cut fries which I really like. Love that they have grilled cheese on the menu, sometimes I feel like a grilled cheese and I don’t want to have to order it from a kid’s menu. Food’s good, venue is great! Like I said, great central location, an excellent«grown-up» atmosphere for lack of a better word, it isn’t ghetto, nor is it playing to 21 year olds and it isn’t pretentious. Love the outdoor music stage in the patio, combined with the great big bar makes this a great place to hang out.

The place has a bar, the pullpork sammy, and their burger are alright. Nothing great about this place, but also nothing bad to report.

I really like this place. The food has been great every time I’ve been. I’m a return customer for lunch since it’s close to downtown and I have been there for at least one happy hour. Happy hour was adequately staffed but being that this restaurant is centrally located, they could definitely help their return business by staffing their lunch with more waitstaff.

The food was good but not great and the service is horrible. The place has a lot of potential for being a great place to hang out with friends but the service is what is really really lacking it’s been an hour and a half since our server has checked on us. if I hadn’t gone to the bar to get my tab we would still be waiting for her she didn’t even remember our name on the tab.

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more and better reviews! the inside is cozy but a little bit weird there is quite a few entrances and i’m not sure which way is the right way to come in. Parking can also be a bit tricky. The patio is awesome when the weather is nice. I LOVE how the bar has vintage bathtubs as coolers. The menu was just my style, simple and to the point! The server was very thoughtful and since we were there at a dead time she kindly put on cartoons for my daughter even though we didn’t ask. the food took a little while but when we tasted it, it was worth the wait. I had the pulled pork sandwich which came without bbq sauce because it simply didnt need it. The meat was moist and full of flavor. Their homemade bbq sauce that they serve on the side is pretty tasty. I loved the condiments they bring you with your food. chipotle ketchup, jalapeño mustard, bbq sauce, and also regular ketchup and regular mustard. My husband had the steak sandwich that he loved and my mom had the smoked turkey cheese sandwich. Will be going back and trying more things on the menu.

I had heard a lot about this place and finally decided to drop in. Had a perfect Reuben on homemade bread they bake right here. The rest of the menu looked enticing and I definitely be back… and great service from Jacob.
