I really enjoy coming here on Sunday evenings. It’s always quiet on Sunday’s and service is great. I love their burrata it’s creamy and the tomatoes are always fresh not mushy. The atmosphere is relaxing usually playing acoustic music it’s definitely a good place to have a drink and small bite or a full on meal. The outdoors covered patio is also a great option for the winter or the nearing spring time.

Total Fail tonight. 3 of us walked in at 5:30, gonna have a party of 8 at 6. Place empty, we sit, order drinks — they had NOICE … Really? No ice at 5:30−6 on a Friday night??! I joked for the first 10 minutes about running down to 7 – 11 or going home for some… Waiter was flat, didn’t care — sat for 30 minutes … Walked out to go across street at Bogarts. No love at Café Grill tonight — thought about going onto patio for a cigar but the were installing NEWLIGHTS on a Friday night and patio closed!!! Really?! Manager position should be open for a new hire Ok, it’s the next day — I stand by my review but would like to add — we have eaten there several times and it’s a good restaurant, good food and we like the patio. Is it a harsh review? Yes. But truthful.

Café Grille is the best restaurant for any desire! This is actually the little brother of the Café Central located in downtown EP but without all the snooty waiters and the expensive prices, oh and waaayyy better service. The atmosphere is more business casual/after work happy hour drinks from a long day in the office, but you will feel just as welcome with a nice polo or button up shirt. I’ll admit, going in jeans and t-shirt will make you feel out of place as the restaurant atmosphere is way more upscale than say an Applebees. Everything I have tried has been absolutely amazing! From the tortilla soup to the pasta entrees but what keeps me and the wifey coming back the most is their BBQ pulled pork sandwich! NOJOKE! It is probably the best pulled pork sandwich I have had and have had since! I will warn you, it is a bit messy so no white shirts when I go! haha The sandwich also comes with the most delicious truffle fries that are crisp and flavorful. Heck, I ordered the fries as an appetizer one time because they are so good! The presentation of the burgers and sandwiches are also something of an experience, as the meal is served on a tree! Literally, a block of wood… very interesting. The wait staff can be a hit or miss at times but the last few times I’ve been here they have all been great. The hostesses are also great and there is usually no waiting, unless you go during major, weekend, dinner hours. I love to sit out in their patio when the weather is right but if not drinks at the bar are also wonderful and worth the happy hour visit. The wifey only orders the lychee martini and I don’t blame her because it is a delicious concoction that actually has a lychee in the drink. I’ve gone other places and this spot is the only place I have ever seen the actual fruit in the drink! Overall, I love everything Café Grille has to offer and it has never disappointed. Basically it’s local, great food, great service, great atmosphere = 5 stars WOOHOOO indeed!

A group of friends and I were excited to try this place today for my birthday, and we were extremely disappointed. After waiting for several minutes to order our drinks our waitress greeted us with a superior attitude. She seemed to act as if we were wasting her time and quickly ruined our happy mood. Their service was so unpleasant we chose to pay for our drinks and leave before ordering our food. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I love this place… I’m kind of surprised by the reviews this place has received by other people. One of the reasons I like this place is that when my family and I eat together it can be difficult to find a place we all like. I like seafood, brother likes meat, mom wants burger, etc. and this place has all those things! And they taste good! We usually start with the grilled shishito peppers and all order our separate things. My favorites are the soy glazed salmon and the chicken with chimichurri. The Parmesan fries are great and so are the roasted brussel sprouts. The sushi hits the spot too… It’s simple and satisfies any sushi cravings you might have. I come here about once or twice a week for dinner when I’m in town and the service is always great. I will certainly be back again.

This is definitely a stop on Samurai Saturday. Be sure to get a Chef’s Choice roll. I STRONGLYRECOMMEND the Green Autumn from their signature cocktails.

Very slow service. Took forever to even place our order. Took forever for the food to come. Had to ask for the check and then took forever to pay the check. Admittedly the waiter did come and tell us they messed up the order, but never once did a manager stop by the table. Food was okay. Definitely a one time place for me.

I’ve been here before and have always liked it okay because the atmosphere is great and the food is good. Last time, the service was so bad that I don’t think I’ll go back. We ordered wine and while it’s ok that he wasn’t around periodically to fill up our glasses, but he put the ice bucket too far from us for us to reach it so I had to go pick up this unwieldy ice bucket stand to move it around to where we could reach it. It took the food 30 – 40 minutes to come out(and it was lunch time). He brought the wrong food and as we we were too hungry to wait for the correct order to come back, we just took what he brought after letting him know it wasn’t correct. He charged one person in our group for 4 different tickets accidentally on her credit card and then voided the transactions. And he did apologize for the horrible service at the end of our meal but didn’t comp anything on our ticket, not even the food we didn’t order. Not even the birthday girl’s cake. I can take bad service if they do something to make it up to me, but to not even offer a comp on a $ 200 ticket was ridiculous.

Café Grille was a pleasant surprise since alot of the Unilocal reviews are mixed. I came as part of a huge group for a bday party. It was basically a 3 hour event from 530 – 830. From what I can tell they blocked off a huge table in one of the main rooms and the room became the personal playground for the group to mix around in(I imagine if more people had come they would have used those tables if necessary, but it looked like we got the whole room to ourself). While it was a Tuesday night with inclement weather, the other main room seemed to be doing brisk business. I say all this to point out that I think the quality of service was excellent. From my view point the restaurant was more than accomodating. Now about the restaraunt itself. It has a similar posh interior that is reminiscient of Malolam(glowing different color lights in walls). Nice tables and polished bar. Thats about where the similarities to Malolam end as I found actually good service, good drinks, and good food. Café Grille has an interesting patio experience. Turf grass with overhead patio. Fireplace at far end with couches for lounging and some patio tables interspersed. A little weird but kinda cool too. Anyways, started off with their seasonal take on a moscow mule called the wood wall mule(bacardi 8, ginger, and cider). While I wasnt completely sold on the taste, it did taste appropriately fall-y and I appreciated the creativity of the drink. Others who tried the drink really enjoyed it. I did like the appropriate amount of buzz the drink gave me. I followed up with a margarita since several guests were raving about it. I gotta say, it was a very good margarita. One of the best i’ve had so far in El Paso in terms of mix of flavor and presence of actual alcohol in the drink. My third drink(a little later on after quite a bit of water. C’mon people, its called responsible drinking), was a grey goose dirty martini. This was a fantastic martini. Again, everyone who tasted it(maybe not the most hygienic but hey we were all friends; you know you do it) really loved it. So in regards to drinks, Café Grille nailed it. I will definitely come back for future happy hours. For food, I ordered the shishito peppers fried. They came out fast. While I dont have that much experience with shishito peppers, the peppers tasted a little bland and required extensive use of the dipping sauce(which was quite good). They did provide quite a bit of the shishito peppers which was nice. I wanted to try a sushi roll so i got the sexy lazy roll(salmon, crab stick, cucumber, and avacado). The roll was very tasty and one of the better rolls i’ve had in town. But for 10 dollars I was disappointed by the portion size of the roll. See photo for hand size comparison. Finally, I ordered(yes i was a fat kid, dont judge me) the prime rib sandwich. It was served on a thick slab of wood which i thought looked pretty cool. The rib meat was thick and tender, great flavor. It had a delicious melted cheese and crunchy fried onions. The bread was thin(width wise), but thick(height wise) and crunchy. I loved the sandwich but did not care for sauce(au ju? i cant remember). It was waaaaay too salty. So I ended up not using much of it. As a side I got the truffle fries. The side of fries was a good portion size. I thought the truffle oil gave it all the flavor it needed but my friends thought it needed seasoning. I thought the fries were a little soggy to my liking but it wasnt too bad(I prefer crispy fries). I tried someone else’s sweet potato fries and those were excellent and crispy. Sorry for the long review, but there was alot to talk about. I liked Café Grille quite a bit and I will def head back for future experiences. I honestly did not see a dish from any of the party members that looked bad(people tried hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, steaks, etc) and everyone enjoyed their meals. The salads looked pretty good to. Honestly, the weakest aspect was their sushimi. A friend tried that and was unimpressed. I had a bite and it was only ok.

So far the mushroom bruschetta appetizer I ordered was sweeter than I expected. Because the mushrooms were soaked in red wine. The I thought s little more fried nori would be perfect. I should have asked what it was like. My bad I ordered the house salad for lunch which is delicious and sweet. Something savory along side would have been perfect. My companion was ten and the menu was not her style so we were going to leave but surprise surprise they had a great children’s menu she order the spaghetti and meatballs. According to her the sauce was slightly sweet but the meatballs were delicious. The spaghetti came with French fries. They were great with my salad. The waiter was attentive and the food well presented and when I visit El Paso again I’ll come for dinner the menu looked great

I’ve been here 3 times and it always seems completely different. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. The décor is very nice and I love the actual wood trunk plates. Drinks were very strong and the last time I went the server kept asking for my ID every time I ordered a round, very strange. Maybe he has short term memory loss or something. It’s worth a try but it’s not on my list of spots. Mainly for the fact that every time I go I get a completely different experience, not consistent at all.

Price range from 10 to 45. Food was delicious but service was very slow although it was a Friday night. Noticed that large parties had to wait for a long time. Overall a good experience and the food was one of a kind.

Loved the peppers appetizer. The CG burger was a great basic burger. The tuna tacos were nicely done(ordered rare). The menu is an interesting mix of sushi and southwestern.

I’m not sure why restaurants in El Paso feel it’s okay NOT to have websites, but I could make a list of some of El Paso’s better restaurants, Café Grille and Stonewood on the west side to name just a couple that perplexingly, lack websites. While Café Grille is better managed and probably able to overcome this oversight, Stonewood(I’m predicting) will be closed before they realize they forgot to build a website. Kind of like they forget to refill your water. Alas, this is not a review of Stonewood(but I did write one). Café Grille has solid food and service, a great, lively atmosphere, and good location, but the ambiance is a little too loud for dinner conversation. I have recently been to Café Grille three times. Most recently, I was part of a large party for whom our reservation was not honored – a reflection of management, and the other times I was seated at the bar and on a 4-top near the bar. Without exception, the food was prepared to order and served hot. The servers seems adequately trained and knowledgeable about the menu, yet all three times, the service was slow – perhaps due to the kitchen being backed up – sometimes it’s hard to tell. The owners did a good job making over the former Crust location, which salvaged some, but not all the décor from the Juarez-owned restaurant which originally occupied the space. A bad experience and bad memory prevent me from recalling the name of that restaurant. The atmosphere at Café Grille is warm and inviting. If they’d turn the music down just one click, it would probably not hurt the restaurant. Crank it up after 10:00 p.m., but at 7:00 p.m. when us old folks are dining, we like to hear our dentures clicking.

The food and drinks are great. I have been here a few times and I like it more and more every time. The hibiscus martini, lychee martini and watermelon jalapeño margarita are highly recommended. The CG burger with the truffle parmesan fries was delicious.
