Food was very good, but one of the cooks kept coughing on his hand and then preparing our food without gloves. He also was texting on his cell phone. I never saw him wash his hands after this. Grossed me out. Then everyone who works there has a beard without it being covered. Work on your hygiene, people!

I will give the food/menu 4 stars, but the service 2 stars — 3 in average. It is a little shack serves yummy small eats with OK price. The place is cramp and filled with greasy smoke due to the poor ventilation system. They are seriously understaffed in a Sunday night, and we had to wait for like 10 minutes to get our check, then the waiter did not come back to take it for another more than 10 minutes.

Holy crap, I love the food here! I’ve had both healthy and savory food here, such as their quinoa lettuce wraps dressed with a spicy peanut sauce or their steak sandwich with grilled peppers and their poutine green chile fries(*must not drool*). I deeply appreciate that their fries are made with fresh sliced potatoes(if I’m wrong, they’re still doing something right because they’re delicious). They have a green and red posole and both versions are the bomb. Ooh, ooooh, and their chile rellennos stuffed with nopalitos will make a grown man cry tears of happiness. Considering how packed it always seems and how small the space is, the service is pretty good! The only reason I give four stars instead of five is because the last time I went, I waited about 30 minutes for a salad to go, only to go home and see that it was mostly spring mix with four or five thiiiin slices of strawberries, a dash of cheese(come on, at least let me know if you’re low on crumbled cheese and give me the option to replace it with a different one) and a teaspoon of nuts. Yes, I know salads aren’t the most exciting thing, but it feels kinda crappy when you pay about 10 bucks for what’s basically a box of spring mix, which you can buy for around four bucks at a grocery store. Lesson learned? Don’t order salads there. Everything else has been so good though!

Alway a great place to eat at — staff is friendly, service is quick. I enjoy the Pulled Pork Tacos — I read the reviews of them being ‘too spicy’ — I don’t agree, they are spicy but perfect. The quinoa lettuce wraps are also a favorite. If you’re looking for a local friendly place for a good meal — this is it.

I had been looking forward to try Sabertooth for a few months, so I was disappointed when I walked in just to turn around walk right back out. The tiny restaurant was full when we got there at around 9 pm on a Friday night, which is understandable, yet we were expecting a host or employee to greet us and suggest other options or give us a wait time or something but the waiters just buzzed around us leaving us standing at the door clueless. Finally we got the attention of a waiter who rudely told us there were no tables and no room at the bar, but that we could sit outside. It was 35 degrees so we just left. I doubt we will be going back.

Crappy little place not worth it at all! Cramped and unforgiving! The menu is confusing with mystery numbers at the end of serving descriptions, is that a price or what? To small for groups, so don’t bother! Don’t know if they cater and don’t care! No Beer? NOGO! Try Mesa Street Pub down the street, the nicer, better one!

This place pulled me in like the tractor beam of a starship from some friendly(and, very well-fed) planet. Had been in El Paso for first time for a day and returning from random lunch on N Mesa, saw Sabertooth beckoning from opposite side of the street and high-tailed a u-turn to check it out. Three days later, I’ve scored three meals there, including breakfast made from Cassandra’s mixed berry pie, topped with rich, Greek yogurt(courtesy of Albertson’s), preceded by chorizo and egg sandwich+cortado(courtesy of Hillside Coffee @ TI: ME). Cassandra loves to feed people. I know this should be the basic qualification of any and all chefs and folks in the food biz, but, as we all know, it’s a rare quality. People: let Cassandra feed you. Get the torta — it’s not killer hot(like many I’ve had — and, to be sure, I’m a real, live white boy with poorly developed picante DNA) and is the best I’ve ever eaten(sorry, Dai Due, but, y’all need to make a trip out to El Paso and get a taste of this). And, then, get any and everything that Cassandra and her team whip up – including one of the massive, indulgent desserts, which are often served in either a hot, cast-iron skillet or a Mason jar. And, their symbiotic relationship with bar-next-door, Hope and Anchor, means you’ll always have a craft beer to accompany the culinary goodness at Sabertooth(and, vice versa, just in case you’d like a little sustenance whilst enjoying your libations @ H&A). Completing the wonder are hours that match your needs, e.g. late — like, 10pm most nights, then, midnight on Thursday and 2am Fri/Sat. Go, relax, be nourished.

At first i was a little scared about this place opening up basically connected to Hope and Anchor. I thought they were gonna serve crappy, greasy food to keep people drinking at the bar. Man was i wrong. The first thing i tried was the grilled veggie sandwich and i was surprised at how much flavor it had. It was very delicious and the side of home made fries really added to the experience. Their menu is very«basic» in the sense that they serve standard bar food like nachos and burgers but they do it so well and with a twist. My favorite is the pulled pork torta with a sort of mango slaw… so good. I recommend the bar nachos as an appetizer since they are not your average nachos. They are individually topped so each bite gets a bit of everything no matter which tostada you get. Have yourself a drink and definitely visit this place for some good quality bar food.
