Ugh… there are few things more unappealing to see in a place that claims to be a pizza restaurant than to see your waitress adding toppings to a room temperature cheese pizza and then sticking it in the oven for a «while» until it was warm enough to slap into a to-go plate. I suppose that wasn’t so bad since the pizza looked like it came out of a box and it did not taste like something that was actually made in the restaurant. Unfortunately I wouldn’t know since it was already sitting in a display case when I placed my order. I ordered a slice of meat lovers and a slice of mushroom pizza to go and I was shocked to see that sort of food prep at a place with a name like«The Pizza Joint». What’s worse, is that I couldn’t finish either one because they were incredibly greasy(as in grease was actively dripping off the pizza and onto the plate) and just not good. I had read a lot of good reviews for this restaurant but watching the way they handled my pizza definitely did not leave me with any desire to go back and pay way too much for such poor quality of food. Also annoying is that their happy hour specials are really not all that special. We had walked over from home to check them out and were looking forward to relaxing and enjoying some happy hour beers and pizza but once we looked at the prices we just couldn’t do it. That was largely why we ended up ordering the pizza slices to go and even after soaking through the to go plates during our walk home the pizza was just too greasy and not good at all. I’ve gotten significantly better pizza from Domino’s or Papa John’s.

Love the ready to eat slices at the place and the fast delivery for whole pies at the office.

If I could give a negative star I would. And I don’t want to bc I have eatten here before and the food is good. BUT, and here we go… We went to eat after a baseball game and my bf and I ordered a pizza for our group. 2 of our people then ordered wings. I went to get my soda and the employee was angry at our 2 people. Employee said that they«girl» was trying«to be funny and we better take our numbers or he wasn’t going to serve us» when the rest of our party day down I asked what happened and he said that she ordered a beer a beer and the employee said no she was belligerent. We shrugged it off until the employee said«here’s you’re refunds, we won’t be serving you today» and walked off. What did I do?! I don’t even know what happened. The manager spoke to the 2 individuals of our group and nothing was resolved. We weren’t out of control, we weren’t yelling but yet we weren’t served. I understand management backing up the employee but at the same token that employee was hiding cowardly and not speaking up for why he felt the need to not serve us. I feel that the employee abuses his power and put his manager in a terrible position. I will be calling about this incident and I will change my rating if I feel they acted appropriately. But mind you they are located in a BARDISTRICT! I’m sure they have seen worse. People get a little power and they abuse it. Very disappointing, and I’m still hungry. Going to Dominguez for $ 1 tacos!

Hot pizza fresh out of the oven? Pizza rolls? Delicious toppings? Yes, yes, and yes. Come downtown and try this place when you’re walking around — it’s always lively and they have music and open mic pretty regularly. The pizza is great and the ambiance is fun. What more can you ask for?

I rather liked this place. Hmm-m, why did I use past tense? Am I subconsciously planning to never go back? No … No no… Ok… I rather LIKE this place. That feels better … The pizza joint… So when I hear that, I think of a Spike Lee Joint. Or, «yo thass my joint!» East coast style. Or more closer to home, Eazy E, «there’s the store, but don’t point — walk inside, case the joint». Nope. After entering and reviewing the menu and checking the décor. It’s that other kinda joint. Yes mom. I mean the joints like In your knees. Smh. Modern, but classic. Trendy, but normal. Rock, but hip hop. El Chuco, but LA. Hood, but downtown. Expensive, but… Naw it’s kinda expensive. I liked the way this place looks. I felt comfortable there. Decent size for seating. Carry out too if you can’t get a table. The food, many local(as in the place has a menu of pies they make) creations, or just choose what you want. Buy it by the slice, or whole pies. The slices are huge. Like i ordered 3… I didn’t finish 3. The pizzas are big too. Easy to share with 3 – 4 people. They serve beer. Soft drink and ice tea available. Again prices are kinda steep. But it’s cute because everything has like«420» kinda names… I was like awwwww. I remember when smoking weed was cool too! Those were the days. Now days, weed is still fine, just like beer. But after a certain age you stop keeping every beer can you drank stacked up like its art. You just recycle that biz! YEA! Responsible adult living! And you don’t name everything cleverly after weed or getting high… You just do it. And pretend your not. But I can’t ever NOT like this place. Food was good… And when I walked in… The Mars Volta was playing… Loudly. Das my heart Mayne!

They pizza was excellent. They do not have a large beer selection but the food is so good it doesn’t matter. They have a good lunch special as well.

Love this place. I don’t know why it’s closed Tuesday night but you forced us to go to Ardovino’s Pizza and eat their gross pizza. Still love ya.

Went here on a lazy Sunday evening and was very impressed. Overall a great experience. I ordered the fab 5 and fungi pizza slice and was blown away by how big the slices were. Delicious too! My wife got the gluten free pizza and, even though I think GF is a huge scam that my wife had bought into, the crust was amazing! I’ve tried her gluten free crusts before and always mocked her and the sorry excuse for pizza, but this was crispy and amazing! Oh another thing, the water is carbonated! I love carbonated water! We also enjoyed sitting outside playing battleship together. Really a great night out thanks to Pizza joint!

Good ol’ local homegrown EP! Stays open until 3 am on the weekends which is nice since bars close at 2. The slices are GIGANTIC and usually all I need to feel full is 1 slice. If I can eat 2, it’s because I’m ravenous. I’ve eaten here many times. Never disappointed.

We used to go here because we like to support local businesses. It’s not that great; my girlfriend cares for it more than I do. I like to shop local as a courtesy to my community. It’s sad when some faceless corporate franchise provides better customer service than your neighbor. We thought it’d be nice to get some delivery and relax for Valentine’s Day. We’ve been«fortunate» to get delivery here about 5 times. But twice(I think we spoke to the same guy on the phone both times), they said we were outside of their delivery area. Tonight was one of those times. They have a 3 mile radius. My iPhone says 2.6. He says 4.4?! And that I live in the Northeast(that’s news to me, I’m 10 minutes from the Northeast). He said they would deliver, but we’d have to wait an hour because they were busy. I said«no rush» and we don’t mind waiting longer than that. Then he just says they plain can’t. Too busy because it’s Valentine’s Day. Sorry to inconvenience your business. I’m hesitant to stop by in the future lest we bother you all again.

Grabbed a late night slice of pepperoni pizza on a saturday night. Pizza slice was huge and delicious. The downtown is located right next to several bars so its definitely conveniently placed. This location is also significantly larger than Mesa location. They had singer and band playing(with local possee of friends in tow). Food was excellent(and fast), they had beers on hand to continue the reverly, and it was all very affordable. If I’m downtown and craving late night food this will be a go to. Oh and they found my drivers license which I lost. So yeah. Awesome.

I frequent Pizza Joint quite often but today is a special day. I just decided the best slice of cheese pizza in El Paso is at Pizza Joint! Do me a favor walk into pizza joint and ask for slice of cheese pizza with extra cheese. The perfect blend of cheese, basal and crispy golden buttery crust will be a party in your mouth and everyone is coming. That same night, I decided after a conversation with the staff to try a slice with anchovies and pepperoni. Overall, «not bad but not good.» Next time I am going to try anchovies on a veggie slice. I think the veggies will complement the anchovies better. If you consider yourself a foodie you need to try it in the words of Nick Diaz, «don’t be scared homie!»

The grapefruit beer was a very good pair with The Stash Pizza! Today we are goung with the classic pepperoni pizza and I am sure it will not disappoint my love for pizza!!!

I finally got to stop by this location on my way home from a Chihuahuas baseball game. The genius of it is that the reason why it opened downtown is to provide delicious large slices of pizza and pies to all the people down there for the bar scene but also for people going to the game. This place was pretty packed after the game. The service was really great and fast and we were able to choose from the slices already on display, even for a couple of vegetarian slices. The location is very clean and since it’s new everything is very well kept. The Pizza Joint art is displayed on the walls and it even has a small stage area with a microphone ready. This location seems to be larger than the Mesa location and the open windows gives it a different vibe. Will definitely visit this location more often especially since i live walking distance from it.

The Pizza Joint will always have a special place in my heart since the original TPJ has kind of been my Central Perks(a la Friends) minus the dumpster diver couch. This new, additional location lives up to the name. Compared to the OG Pizza Joint, this one is a bit larger and has a small stage which is kind of cool. I haven’t caught the open mics there, but I’m sure they’re pretty fun. The one thing I love about the original is the games and chalkboards. The game selection strangely seemed a lot smaller than I’ve grown accustomed too and the jenga game was missing pieces… what kind of person steals two jenga pieces? One made of pure evil. The pizza is thin crust. Normally I’m a pan dish kinda girl, but their crust is delish. And a touch sweet. I pretty much like all of their pizza and I always feel like they use the perfect amount of cheese and marinara. This is the kind of pizza that is good after a night out(and they’re in a pretty location since they’re right next to Pride Square). It’s a good choice for lunch or dinner. And they sell by the slice which isn’t that common in EP, but it can be a little pricy. Luckily, the slices are huge so it’s worth it. Cooky little place and a great place after a night out.

Was going to a diff restaurant and passed by this place. It was so crowded we decided to check it out instead. Improv Friday nights, game boards, not bad. Menu is extensive and the pizza coming out from the kitchen looks great. We ordered«The Jeffrey” — first impression, looks just like a Costco pizza with a thinner crust. Oh and who uses canned mushrooms these days? This place! Ahhhhhhh! I almost cried. Took a bite– pizza was hot and gooey but not too cheesy. Yup– just like Costco pizza with a better crust. I let it cool off for a bit. I do like my pizza a little on the warm side. I like the flavor a to settle. Once the flavor settled, I can honestly say it’s slightly better than Costco pizza. I do like the crust. Thin, has a little crunch but did hold even after all the toppings. The flavor was just slightly better than good. I’ve deff had better pizza but deff not here in El Paso. The 20 inch is huge but with the thin crust, I was able to eat a slice and a half. Hubby did like it a lot betterment than me. The breadsticks were meh… Nothing really to talk about. All in all, it was good but not amazing. It also passed the cold breakfast pizza test in the morning.

Hipster pizza at it’s grooviest. Super thin pizza and thick wings. There is a metaphor in there somewhere… The pie was more Italian than NY. The wing sauce seemed to have a hint of mustered like S. Carolina BBQ. I am sure this is a great place to grab a slice for lunch, but come after 8PM for open mic night to get the full experience. Hipster, good pizza, great wings — Five Stars.

The Pizza Joint is at the forefront of the Pizza-by-the-slice Movement in El Paso, and I, for one support it. They’re one of the few places in town that sell by the slice, and luckily it’s yummy pizza. Not to say that’s all they do, they are a full fledged Pizza, we’ll, Joint, selling full pizzas, wings, and the like, but because I don’t have any friends, or trivia teams, I only eat by the slice. They also sell beer, yay beer! I usually get the combination slice because I’m a big fan of toppings. The slices are big and always hit the spot. The folks here are friendly, and they have way more seating room than the UTEP location. They’re open late, and I think TPJ will be a great place to grab a bite before and/or after Chihuahuas games.
