Great place — local flavor — good food –good service– a must visit away from all the chain joints

Everything about this place suggests that it is being phoned in, from the lackluster menu to the dirty, dated appearance. I am not going to grade on a curve because«it’s Elburn.» We deserve fresh food in a clean, friendly environment and it’s not difficult to do that much. Clean your windows, dust your artificial plants, and replace the stained ceiling tiles, to start. The food wasn’t actually that bad(I had some sort of skillet breakfast) but it was unremarkable, the vegetables were left way too large, and the presentation was lousy. This place is way off the mark even for a diner. It’s a shame that we don’t have a great, local place to go in our downtown that isn’t also a bar.

Diner food with a Mexican twist. Love it for a weekend breakfast treat. We get takeout if it’s close to church however because the place is small and can’t accommodate many or large groups.

Not a bad breakfast/lunch place, but it didn’t blow me away either. It was fine and cheap, I’ll give it that. Biscuits and gravy weren’t bad here, though I’ll admit I’ve had slightly better. Also the service was decent, and friendly. And one of the few diners where I’ve seen a TV in the background that was on w/sound(just showing a movie of some sort in the background, but it didn’t bother me). Finally, I couldn’t put my finger on why the water tasted a tad funny and odd to me(I regret not mentioning that to my waitress, sorry whoever you were…). Maybe it’s better to order soda here? IIRC, they close at some sort of very early afternoon time(more I think about it, the more I think it’s 1:30pm)every day. I’d be open to giving them another shot, if I return to Elburn one of these days.

For Elburn, it’s a great breakfast place. It’s very cheap; my friend and I had breakfast and drinks for a total of $ 14 not including tip. The portions are large and the food is tasty. It’s definitely not a fancy place, but for a basic breakfast, it’s great. The room is a little small(think the size of a subway) so I wouldn’t recommend it for groups, but it’s great for Sunday brunch or breakfast with a friend.

A group of here went here for breakfast as it is a little bit of a smaller place and it would be hard for us to find a table if it was dinner. Well, even for breakfast, it was full at the big tables as there were a lot of locals just talking and enjoying their morning. One table was nice enough to leave and give the 7 of us a large table. They had various specials but I chose the chorizo omelette which came with your choice of rice and beans or home fries and toast. I chose the home fries and rye toast, which ended up being a great decision. The home fries were great, as concurred by my friends. The service was solid and the price was pretty good. Definitely a good place for a quick meal in the area!

Quaint dinner in the small town of Elburn. Out server was a really personable young girl from a local high school. She was attentive and friendly — kept the coffee coming :) My partner order one of the BIG breakfasts and she said oooo good choice hope you are hungry. I had waffles that were great. The prices can not be beat. If you are looking for a fancy place this is not for you. It is down to earth, serving good food with a smile!

Great local diner in downtown Elburn! We enjoyed our breakfasts(especially the«Mexican» breakfast entrees — awesome!) and I’d definitely check them out for lunch as well. It was very inexpensive and unlike some of the breakfast spots in Geneva/Batavia — no wait :) We live nearby and we’ll definitely be back.
