This business is under new management. Its now called City Life Bakery. The name isn’t the only change unfortunately. The selection is greatly reduced and the prices are much higher. I would say the price increase is 25−35%. Seems as though they are going for swanky dine in feel. Well at least for me décor and«café feel» isn’t why I used to frequent this bakery. I stopped in there for the huge assortment of authentic Mexican pastries and breads at a great price. Sadly I don’t visit this establishment anymore. Instead I drive a little further to Azteca now.

Awesome Cuban sandwich! This place spanks all the other«Hispanic» places in Elgin. The coffee, empanadas & bread pudding are really good too! I just wish there were labels, so I know what pretty pastry I was picking. Is it caramel? Tamarind? Coconut? Who knows! LOL

Another latin place in elgin… go figure. I decided to try this place for lunch during work and OMG that was a great decision. I had the cuban sandwich which was fantastic. The bread was covered in this butter garlic that screamed eat me!!! The ham croquettas were yum. I havent tried the empanadas yet. Their pastry I had which was filled with custard was orgasmic. Their café con leche is out of this world. I will be back!
