In light of the recent bankruptcy filing, I decided to drive over to the Hostess Thrift Shop to see what sort of deals they had. What I found was basically nothing. They have a reasonable selection of either short date or out of date food items, ever so slightly reduced in price. A loaf of expired white bread was 99c. A loaf of fresh white bread at Aldi is 79c. Other items were not discounted nearly enough to be worth buying. I did, however, find a couple boxes of Twinkies and Ho-Ho’s that had about another two weeks to go for about half off, so I bought them. Other than the very occasional deal you can find, this place is a pass for me.
