They have a sign hanging stating what the charges. Guess what… a basic 1040 will run at the highest end of that chart. I couldn’t believe it. You are better off doing your taxes yourself. Just print the forms and mail them in. They use the Turbo tax program. If you really want to do them on line, go to Walmart and buy it for 50.00 and save yourself a lot of money. I love how they advertise that they could find things that you did not know about… how? They go through what you bring in and key the info into the computer just like you would at home if you bought Turbo tax.
No investigations, no probing questions… just data entry. I cancelled the appt. for my mother’s taxes and did them when I got home from this horrible experience. The guy tried to tell me that he saved me 5 hours in dong my own… what? I did a trial run before going in to make sure I understood everything. That took me a whole 35 minutes. My mother’s took me an hour since I had to find and print forms. Please learn from my mistake. These places are worthless. If you really need help with your taxes, seek out a «real» tax accountant. They will be able to help you if you cannot figure it out yourself, not these places.
