Different, had a bad experience the first time. May try it again and hope we have a better experience next time. It’s been a crazy week anyhow. I did really like how they set the place up and the peanuts are always a nice touch

The rating was only 3 stars based on the level of service received. My first attempt at eating their food was a grub hub order, sorry they don’t offer online ordering through their site. The order was placed at 5:00 and marked for delivery by 6:10 or earlier. At 6:15 I called for a status check on our order, after waiting on hold awhile I was told the order was just being started. They apologized and said the order would be expedited and it was. They delivered it around 7:00 with some items missing and no explanation. When I talked to them they said our next order would be no charge for the inconvenience. Fast forward 3 weeks we decided to try them for dinner again and to take them up on the offer to make things right. It didn’t take long to see that wasn’t going to happen easy. When placing an order I was told their were no notes in the system and the only thing I could have no charge was a soda and bag of peanuts. I’m not one to ask for an entire meal to be comped but when you make that offer you should keep your word. After about 5 minutes on hold I was told the order would be free but they were putting notes in the system that I received it so I couldn’t get another one. Apparently I’m being accused of being deceitful or the have so many people getting free meals for experiencing problems they can’t keep us all straight. The food is pretty damn good. The house burger is better than portillos or most anyone else nearby, for an added kick it’s available with a fried egg on it too. Buffalo wings and buffalo wrap were good but spicier than most people can enjoy and had too much vinegar in the sauce for my liking. Pizza is good, beer nuggets are addictive as crack and melt in your mouth. The only thing I wouldn’t order again was the pesto chicken sandwich, needed more pesto and less bread. You’ll enjoy the food but I hope the service is better at the restaurant than it is for delivery.

Disappointed that with all of the heightened allergies and awareness they have not changed their peanut manners. Offering them to tables that are not allergic is one thing but letting your patrons throw them on the floor keeps families with allergies out. Good tactic if you weren’t a family restaurant. Disappointed.

Great Service. Server was very patient and informative going through the menu with me. Was able to get a drink special of well mixed drinks for 3.50. Grabbed a long island, wasn’t the best tasting but definitely strong. Great pizza! Great ambiance!

Such an adorable place. You feel like you’re in the middle of the north woods! Beautiful fire place and rustic interior. Very friendly staff and solid pizza and food.

This place has great pizza, but their prices are ridiculous. I ordered two large pizzas and the total came out to $ 42 — a LARGE is only 14″ and that was without any appetizers like breadsticks or wings. While the pizza was good, we didn’t feel that it was worth nearly $ 50 especially when you get a large & medium specialty pizza with breadsticks, mozzarella sticks & a 2 liter of coke for $$ 50.

Nick’s is more than just food, it is an ambiance as well. This place is so relaxed and fun. Throwing peaunut shells on the floor is part of the experience. The large barn doors at the main entrance is something to see in itself. This place is 100% family friendly with a game room for kids, fun décor(huge fish aquariums, an old phone booth, a massive fireplace, and lots to look at). On to the food… they have good thin crust, so if less dough and more crunch is your thing Nick’s is for you! Pizza in Chicagoland is a competitive market, and although they skimp on toppings like mushrooms, the pizza tastes good. The bruschetta is awesome! They have great deals on drink prices too.

You get free peanuts that you can throw on the floor. If you are allergic to peanuts don’t walk into this place ! They have an appetizer fried shrimp that is so good. It’s a jumbo shrimp. Yummy. Also the thin crust pizza is good too.

Great family restaurant, my 2 year old son and my fiancé both love this place. There are free peanuts that you can throw on the floor — which is great when you have a toddler, because I didn’t feel like a burden when he got crumbs on the floor either. There’s also a definite«outdoors» theme going on and once we happened to have a fish tank right above our booth which entertained my son as well! The beer selection was decent and fairly priced. The thin crust pizza was excellent! We ordered a blooming onion type thing too which was pretty good, and one time I ordered a beef sandwich which was good — but honestly your best bet is to just stick to the thin crust pizza. P. S. The Crystal Lake location is pretty much the same with great pizza as well. We hosted a party there once and they did a great job

I thought I finally found a great pizza place close to home to take the family. Perfect ambiance and setting to sit down for good pizza. I was really disappointed at the pizza they serve, especially how they rave that they use fresh dough. I grew up in the city and with great pizza joints every where, but this was no where even close to avaerage pizza. It had the texture and flavor of a frozen pizza. I would only be back to sit at the bar to have drinks since they had a good selection of beers. Tip to the owners, use more cheese that is fresh and change the dough you are using, keep it thin, but change the dough. Very disappointed. Blah.

Throwback to Goodness-Ville. Other reviews have said, this has a lodgy feel. If you like that, you’re gonna love it. Personally, for a pizza place I think it’s perfect. It’s cozy-casual. Pizza is the king of Au Casual foods. With apps you could put down a whole meal without touching a single piece of silverware. Doesn’t get a whole lot more casual than that in my book. There is a bunch of taxidermy all over the place, so if you’re going to picket please do so during the week so as not to interrupt my pizza foraging. Anyhow all of these critters definitely imparts a woodsy feel. It gives the kids something to look at besides the ipad also. They’re distracted, you’re happy. You’re happy because they’ve got a decent beer list. And the kids are distracted. The Pizza is also pretty/very good. I’m going 8 on a 10 scale. For thin I think it’s the best in the immediate area. It’s kind of somewhere between New York thin and Chicago thin, but I’m willing to bet if you like either you’ll do just fine here. Toppings are good, plenty of cheese etc. All around good pie. Service is good. Place is always jumping and I’ve never felt too deserted and it seems they’ve got enough staff to run good crowd control. We’ve been a couple of times and no doubt will be hitting it again.

Great thin crust pizza, amazingly friendly and upbeat staff, and fun atmosphere for a pizza parlor. This would be a great place to take the family! There is tons of seating space — I don’t foresee anyone having to wait too long for a table at any given time. Nick’s definitely offers a different environment for any restaurant but they’ve done an amazing job on making it a unique and fun pizza joint. My husband’s only complaint was that there should be more of a beer selection. It was quite minimal for our pizza and beer night.

I love this place! If you can’t tell by the number of check ins here I can’t get enough. When my favorite pizza place closed in St charles I struggled to find a new favorite. This fit the bill! The staff is ALWAYS nice. The pizza is high quality and can be cooked to order. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu except a few of the apps, which were just ok. That’s why I’m giving it a 4. I think my love of the place is that it’s right around the corner and everyone is friendly. this is my «Cheers»… where everyone knows my name. Love the décor. Love the pizza. Love the servie and love the atmosphere. Worth a try!

My family and I are not fans of Nick’s Pizza. A couple of years ago, Nick’s was in danger of shutting down. There were multiple pleas to «Save Nick’s» and dine at their restaurant. After eating at Nick’s(to show my support for a local business), I quickly realized why they were in danger of shutting down. The pizza simply wasn’t good. We wanted to try something different so we ordered the Mexican Pizza — and Nick’s version was far from«Mexican». Throwing jalapeño’s on something does NOT make it a Mexican dish. The ground beef didn’t even taste seasoned(although the menu says that it is)! At least add some cumin to the ground beef mixture to give some kind of semblance to Latin cooking. And to top it all off, we asked(twice) when ordering to omit the black olives from the pizza. When the pizza finally arrived, lo and behold was an entire pizza topped with BLACKOLIVES. To Nick’s credit, however, they did offer to comp us another pizza(not the one they messed up, but they would have given us another one), but by then we were hungry and didn’t want to wait anymore. We paid for the pizza. The mess on the floor from the peanuts was one thing(not a fan), but a mess on my plate is entirely a different story. I have not visited Nick’s since. Normally I wouldn’t be so quick to completely write off a restaurant based on one visit, but with other great pizza restaurants in the area, I never felt the need to go back.

Love the environment of this place!!! It’s like a semi cabin wilderness ambiance. They have peanut bowls everywhere and you break the shell, eat the peanuts, and then throw the shells on the ground. At first I felt guility, after seeing an old couple go ham on a peanut basket, I said whatever and started my own shell pile on the group. Literally, there is peanut shells on the ground everywhere!!! We got the thin crust pizza and it was super duper delicious, the BEST thin crust pizzas I’ve ever ate. It is very crispy with the right amount of cheese and sauce. I found that the jalapeño tastes much better then the cheese pizza. For some reason, the addition of the topping made the pizza taste 10x better(I’ve tried cheese). We went on a Saturday night and had to wait about 20 minutes to sit down. While we waited, we chomped down on peanuts and contributed to the shells on the group. They don’t take reservations for some reason but this place is great for big groups or families because they have tables set up to seat 15 – 20 people.

First time customer and we loved it :) Tuesday take out of buy one pizza get one equal/lesser for free which was great! 2 Med pizza’s and an order of beer nuggets for $ 24 — you can’t beat that. Only 4 stars as the beer nuggets really weren’t anything too special and probably won’t order them again but look forward to trying other items on the menu When ordering, they gentleman who answered/took the order was very friendly and helpful. Pickup ready in 15 min and they were also so nice with great customer service. The crust is PHENOMENAL; The pizza’s were SO delicious! We got the Nick’s special(garbage pizza) and then a saus/pepp one and both were fantastic; I can’t believe the amount of veggies they put on the garbage one; They do not skimp on veggies We will definitely be back!
