Love Dickeys! My favorite stop on grocery day! I go get the giant tub of ice cream and a flat of Mexican Cokes in the glass bottles at the smart and final, get me some ribs and brisket with a large side of fried okra(to go) and git on home to happy holler sit in my yard and eeeeeenjoy! If you love good chain bbq and Ronald Reagan head on over to Dickey’s its better than fried chicken and gasoline! Post Script Superior BBQ can be found over by C&E Scooter Shop. If you love America then you gotta try Bam Dazy bbq!

This place rocks. My son is about as picky as can be but he LOVES the brisket sandwich. Anyone who likes BBQ should add this place to their must-visit list

I used the catering services 3 weeks ago and the food arrived exactly on time and hot, which I thought wouldn’t happen. The beef brisket is very good, very juicy. Pretty much everyone had seconds! The Mac n Cheese and barbecue beans are my favorite. I got a follow up call from Karen today asking me how my event went and if I was happy with the food. I was very impressed that someone would check back and get feedback from their customers. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been in here a few times now and think the big brisket sandwich is very good. For sides I have had the coleslaw and the fries. Both are average at best and overpriced at $ 2.00 each. I’ll go back for the Sandwiches, but pass on the extras

We’ve been here a few times now. We’ve dined in a couple of times. This time we ordered out. As you walk in there’s always someone behind the counter either saying«hello» or acknowledges you that they’d be with you in a moment! The menu is up on a board behind the employees. We ordered the pound of brisket and the rack of ribs! No sides. When we got home the meal was still warm! Our meat was very tender and delicious.(we made our own sides!) They offer three different BBQ sauces. A spicy, original, and a sweet one. I like to mix mine! Spicy wasn’t hot at all. The sides… we did not order. We don’t really care for it. You might like them so give it a try! I am used to the down home southern BBQ sides so that is why I don’t care for it. They have soft ice cream cones which I normally like but I didn’t get it this time. It’s free with your meal. I didn’t want it to melt in the car! Lol. This place has always been clean when we come in. The employees are very friendly.

My husband and I were looking for some BBQ to eat for dinner. I searched Unilocal and was reminded that Dickies was nearby. We have never tried it, so we took our first trip to Dickies. The moment we walked into the foot, we were greeted by Daniel who welcomed us as we shared it was our first time at the restaurant. He was very patient as my husband and I read the menu to decide what we want to eat. He made a few suggestions for us and was very easy-going. My husband was wearing his Star Wars Darth Vader sweater and the Dickies staff commented on how much they loved Star Wars. It was really nice of the staff to build a rapport with us. We felt totally welcomed! We also noticed how the staff paid extra attention to other costumers and made sure the lines were moving. They welcomed each customer, and even walked the tables to make sure everyone was enjoying their meals. Daniel and Katie walked to our table a few times and made sure our meals were satisfying. We also noticed the staff working together as a team and heard the staff help one another and provided encouragement to one of the staff that shared she was exhausted. The restaurant was very very clean. The food was yummy and tasted fresh! We are new fans and definitely coming back, but next time bringing more friends and family with us! This place is a secret gem in Elk Grove!

I can’t really think of a reason why this Dickey’s should get less than 5 stars. I have never had a less-than-enjoyable experience and the food has always been up to par. I always enjoy their brisket, sausages, and sides(potato salad and cesar salad). The staff always greets me when I come and they are generally very attentive to yours needs as a customer. My only beef(no pun intended :)) has just been with the price of the food. You are generally paying $ 11-$ 13 for a plate of food which I guess is worth the quality you are receiving, but the main thing keeping me from frequenting often is merely the price. I feel that if I am going to pay around that for the food I will eat at a restaurant with servers. BUT with that being said I am pretty cheap so I don’t want a business to be reviewed based on my inability to judge the value of food :) The restaurant is always very clean and you can’t go wrong with the free ice cream. I LOVE their spicy BBQ sauce which is a great addition to the tender meat. Location of the restaurant is also nice. What else can I say? Good food and good people = good place to eat! Oh and I don’t really like the crushed ice for the soda fountain. Some people love it and that’s cool, but I don’t. But AGAIN, this minor personal preference will not reflect the overall quality of a business. I feel as if the owner is doing a very good job at making sure his/her establishment is a good one! UPDATE**** I just wanted to thank Jared K.(The business owner) for reaching out and expressing his gratitude for my review and he even gave me some tips on Dickie’s lower priced menu options. I think it’s great that their are business owners out there who care. I expressed that in my review, but it shows even more by Jared’s attempt to reach out to his customers!

Stopped in for a quick lunch and left more than full and impressed with how tasty this was. For those who have never been to a Dickey’s, you can order a range of meats(sausage, chicken, brisket, pulled pork) and a wide selection of sides(cannot even describe all of the amazing options). Prices are reasonable(around $ 10-$ 15), service was great(staff was very friendly) and we were in and out in under 30 minutes. You get a lot of food for your money and the food is delicious. While the food may not be the healthiest, it is very tasty!

Wow!!! This place was scrrrrrumptious! Cannot believe this is real life! Wow!!! Food was good, atmosphere was good, and the service was good. I will now recite a poem I wrote for my amazing experience: «Oh Dickeys, Oh Dickeys, What wonderful food you got, Your tender meat is good And even your buns are hot, Then I met your amiable employees They were very nice and sweet And just like your Southern Teas And I guess Karen was alright Jk, she was very bright »

Dickie’s recently catered a group event and I got to try more of their menu items. We had the barbecued chicken, chopped brisket, mac & cheese, baked potato casserole and barbecued beans. Usually, I am beef fan and will gravitate to that, but the chicken was very tender and I ended up going back for that several times. It stayed moist and tender from the first serving to the last. The brisket was good when it first arrived, but after an hour or so, it dried out. Luckily, they provided a lot of sauce so we just put some on the brisket and it hydrated pretty quickly. The side dishes were very tasty. Not slap yo mama great, but were a nice compliment to the meal. The baked potato casserole is something I would definitely come back for again. After I wrote my initial review, I was contacted by Jared regarding my less than stellar experience. I appreciated his prompt follow up and genuine concern. I’ve gotten a few robo-replies from business which are worse than not getting a reply at all. I like when business owners listen to guests’ experiences and feedback to make positive changes. I think that this shows their willingness to partner with guests for a better overall experience. Kudos to Jared and his team!

I like this place! I was scared to go, so I didn’t go the whole 3 years they’ve been in the area. Finally went with the kids…& it was good! I didn’t care for the ribs but between us, we had brisket, ham & pulled pork and those were great. Their sauce is great & they give free soft serve ice cream. But the winner is their sweet tea!!! Delicious. I must also add that they had really good customer service. There was a worker named Karen that kept checking in with us to make sure our experience was enjoyable… that was pretty cool & unexpected.

Haven’t been back to a Dickies in a very long time. I asked Fabiola what kind of ribs are they and she said they sell by the pound so I asked again and she said I cannot do a Double Meat with the ribs so I asked a 3rd time giving her a choice. I asked are they Baby Back Ribs or St. Louis Ribs and she said the ribs are Pork. Maybe the 4th time asking the same question is the charm? I asked again and Zack answered for her and said they were Baby Back. So now Fabiola storms off with an attitude and abandons her station. Is it my fault she doesn’t know the difference? GOTOTHEFREEZERANDGETTHEBOX! So when we get the food, the ribs look like they are St. Louis Ribs with the tips cut off. Usually I’ve seen Baby Back ribs are a little curved and not too long in length. Take a look at this photo and see what you think. The food is actually good, better than most other BBQ places. The ribs, brisket and polish sausage was flavorful and aside from Fabiola crappy attitude the service was good. I suggest the Owner/Manager educate the employees what they are serving. Hi Jared, thank you for acknowledging my review but you didn’t mention Fabiola’s very poor attitude. No matter how good the food is the service and attitude of the employees will keep customers coming back or not. I will raise it a Star because the other employees was good.

So I walk in and it has been awhile since I was last here and so I wasn’t sure if the food has changed. Well it hasn’t! The food was awesome as usual and the cleanliness was very good for a casual restaurant. I am very unsure of why this place is only 3 ½ stars when it should be 4! The service is what brings the people back again and again! We walked in today a few minutes before closing. They offered nearly the full menu of items. Only 2 items were out, which is impressive. The gentleman had told us it was closing time but that we need not rush and to feel free to enjoy our dinner. Even at the last minute a group of people walked in and asked if they were too late. The fellow said it was fine, but they had to make to go orders. The guy checked on us frequently to be sure we were satisfied with our food. Yum!

Went there for take out Monday around noon. Ordered a full slab of smoked ribs, a side of mac & cheese and potato salad. The ribs were so good, they fell right off the bone. A full slab goes a long way. The mac & cheese was so good and cheesy-creamy. The potato salad was also good. Forgot they had free pickles. Didn’t get any. Did get a small ice cream on the way out. Very good. Forgot to add. The young man who helped us(the receipt said Jaime) was very nice. He seemed to be the only one working. He prepared our food, rung us up and proceeded to take care of the long line of the noon rush unfrazzled.

2nd time eating here and it is the same as the first time, EXCELLENT! We ordered the two meat plate, Turkey and beef brisket. The turkey was a little dry but when you add the barbecue sauce turned out fine. The brisket was very tasty and had that great barbecue taste. I ordered the two meat plate, Polish sausage and honey baked ham, and both were excellent. They have many choices for your side orders, baked beans, cole slaw, green beans with bacon, fried okra, and many others. The prices are reasonable. So bring the family! Two locations in midtown and on Laguna Blvd in the Bel Air shopping Center.
