I was really excited to see a new BBQ spot really close to my house. I was very disappointed by the food. I had the ribs and hot link and my husband had the tri-tip and chicken. The ribs lacked seasoning, very tough and little bbq sauce and the hot link was okay nothing special about it. I would rate the heat of hot link as mild. A child can handle the link. The tri-tip was cut in small slices and it lacked seasoning. We expected to have a chicken breast or something close to but instead we got diced chicken. The seasoning on the chicken had a weird flavor. I tasted something sweet like brown sugar, nutmeg, or cinnamon. I believe this is the dry rub they use. The sides was nothing special. We ordered bake beans that tasted like it came from a can and potato salad(store bought). I would have to say spending 30 bucks was very disappointing. We didnt even finish the food. :(

So I walked into the corner mart on Laguna Blvd to get some gum and smelled what was the most delicious tangy bbq I have ever smelled, not knowing the corner mart was the store front to one of elk groves best kept secrets. I was greeted by the owner Tracy who offered me a sample of his tri tip. It was extremely tender and had a spicy smoky taste and served very hot. Immediately I had to try more so I ordered a chicken sandwich which he had requested I try it Memphis style. The chicken again like the tri tip had a very good smoky flavor which was do to his personal made seasoning and slow hickory smoke. His«Memphis style» was with his house Cole slaw on top the sandwich that had a ton of chicken smothered in his 901 bbq sauce and mound of slaw. It also came with a side which i tried his bbq beans that were amazing. It had a taste of his sauce with strong flavors sweet and spicy. All together for a walk in for gum and leaving full I was extremely satisfied and even got a discount for working at apple. Thank you Tracy I will be back for your ribs and hope this review helps people find this great spot.

I agree 100% with the above rating. I ate here today too… The sample they gave was hot and delicious, which allowed me to spend $ 11 on a «rib plate» This was 2 pieces of luke warm ribs and cold sauce. This also included a dixie cup portion of Bake beans, which tasted like they came from a freshly opened can. The flavor was ok. but i could not get past the fact of what I spent and how much I got. I cant say I will be back over to this place again

I went there for lunch and I have an hour for lunch. It took them about 30 minutes to make a tri tip sandwich which was cold when I got it on a bun that was cold and straight out of the bag. I also ordered a side of potato salad was less than satisfactory. I paid $ 8.00 for the sandwich which is sufficient for a 4 year old and the $ 2.00 I paid for the potato salad was in a dixie cup. The portion definitely did not match up to what I paid. $ 10.00 for a Happy Meal sized lunch. Had I known the portion and the food they would be serving, I would have walked to Tea Garden to order something for less with a larger portion and the food is hot. I definitely would not go there again. SMH.

I had a friend pick up my order and bring it back to me, so I can’t comment on the interior of the restaurant. Hopefully it’s better than their food. I ordered a Beef Tri-Tip sandwich. Strike one, the menu had to specify beef in front of tri-tip. If the owners of this place new jack about BBQ, they’d know that they can just say tri-tip and leave the beef part off. The sandwich was on a plain yellow hamburger bun. Think of the smallest bun you’ve seen in your local grocery store, that’s what my sandwich was built on. The sandwich had 5 or 6 small slices of warm tri-tip, not hot. The slices were not long enough to stretch from one end of the small hamburger bun to the other. The meat was cooked medium I’d say, pink center light brown edges. It was smothered in some of the most basic BBQ sauce i’ve ever tasted. The BBQ sauce was COLD. Cold in such a way that I can only assume it came out of a bottle that was stored in a cooler, and poured directly on to my sandwich before it was wrapped up and given to my friend to take away. You know what happens when you smothered meat in cold BBQ sauce? The meat gets cold. So, the whole sandwich was barely warm when I got it, and all the way cold before I finished eating it. The only flavor coming from this sandwich was the BBQ sauce. I could not taste any seasoning on the meat at all. Which would be fine if the sauce was amazing, but it wasn’t. It tasted like a basic sauce you’d buy yourself at any major grocery store. The price of the sandwich was $ 8. That’s just the sandwich. No sides at all included. I can buy a whole marinated tri-tip for less than that. Can they throw in some fries or beans? $ 8 might be reasonable for a larger roll with hot tri-tip slices and good sauce on it, but not for this small hamburger bun with small pieces of warm meat and cold bottled sauce. I would not patronize this restaurant again. I kept their menu to take a picture, then I threw it out.
