L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

I was a local on Maui for years and ate plate lunches. This food matches exactly what u would get in Hawaii.
This is what they serve here. Get it with a musubi!

Pretty good food and good service. Portions are great for the price. One of the better L&Ls in the Sacramento area.

I just love L&L. BBQ mix plate is my fave, but seriously my family and I can get into that chicken katsu, pork laulau, spam musubi, curry chicken, etc… and a side of rice and mac salad??? Yasssss!

Great service and food! I ordered catering several hours in advance, 2 big trays of chicken and a big tray of rice and macaroni salad. The owner called me an hour before to confirm my order. When I got there to pick up they gave me a free drink while I waited. The food was hot and ready on time and their guy wheeled it out and put it in my car for me. Very friendly and great service!

My husband enjoys their Chicken Katsu. It’s been awhile since we ordered anything besides the Spam Musubi (which they do so well) so we ordered the Katsu plate, a mini Katsu for the munchkin (since he wants to copy his dad), some Musubi and a BBQ plate to remind ourselves what we liked. This was a whole lot of food. My son quickly switched to the short ribs but my husband maintained his loyalty to the Katsu. Everything was great. I loved the mac and since this is a phone order, my husband loved the Aloha greeting and the free drink while he waited. What a wonderful treat! Mahalo!

«Hawaiian fast food.» Fast food. No where to sit. Mainly take out place. Pork not so good… not fall off the bone. Sauce not so good. It’s only OK, but there are soooo many better Asian restaurants around.

Got there at 8:30pm and they closed at 9:00pm. Staff is extremely nice there. They actually were super busy with lots of walk in and phone orders right before they closed. The food was extremely good. If you serve roast pork and malasadas you know it’s a good location. The best tasting L&L’s I’ve ever been to so far. Good job guys.

I wanted to try this place because I love Hawaiian food and the Unilocal reviews are positive. However, I felt that pretty much everything was just lacking. Right pff the bat, the service was just a little off. Not bad, but just… off. Then we waited a pretty long time for our food considering it wasn’t extremely busy. And then when we got it… mine was ok. The food itself I would give 3 stars because it was perfectly edible and there was nothing wrong with it. My best friend pretty much hated his (though admittedly he is the pickier eater). I’d say the general theme was an overall unimpressed, and neither of us really wants to go back.

I love this place. You get really large portions. A combo meal can often last me two to three meals. I love the chicken katsu and musubi. Their macaroni salad is really tasty. It’s a great place to try out! They also do catering which I might consider them for an upcoming event. The service is excellent. I’ve never had had a negative experience with their staff. I love this place!

Overall great food. I’ve explored a few things on their menu and have thus far not been disappointed. Great chicken katsu and Hawaiian bbq and delicious sides as well. Parking is also very convenient here.

This was my first Hawaiian barbecue experience and I must say I NEED MORE!!! Overall amazing customer service, my server essentially walked me through the menu. I decided on the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu, neither of which disappointed. Paired with the sides and some great company this is something location I’d recommend for all food enthusiasts.

I ordered my food to go and when I got home and opened it, it had black curly hair on it. Looked liked pubic hair! I demanded to speak to the owner but he was not on site. Staff left him a message and he called me back. Long story short, he told me he would spend more time at the business and very apologetic. Place looks like being ran by bunch of high school kids. Nevertheless, I will never ever eat there again. Ever!

The food is good. I usually order the fried shrimp or bbq and seafood plate. The pieces of fish are usually tiny but the portion for teriyaki beef is generous. I enjoy coming in when the owners are not around because they are never very friendly and stare at you the entire time making sure you pay for refills. Hello, I can read the sign you have posted on the soda machine… get off my back. That’s why I usually just order to-​go and eat outside.

Absolutely love the workers at this place. They’re always super friendly and do their best to make you feel welcomed especially if you’re a regular customer. They’re never greedy with their dishes and the chicken katsu is never disappointing. I always go there for either the chicken Hawaiian bbq, chicken katsu, or the spam masubi. Sooooo goood!!!

1. I ordered the roast pork, there was alot of fat, it didn’t taste right & it was over cooked.
2. When I was eating inside, the employee started to mop. She started mopping in the restroom & continued to mop all the way to the the front.
The owner was there too. Someone needs to teach them how to clean. I haven’t been back there for a few months.

So I came here for my first time with my friends and ordered the Fried Shrimp and I absolutely loved it. Not only was it delicious because I hadn’t eaten all day, but everything about this place was awesome. The service was great and the food came out pretty quick. Not only that the staff was really nice and they kept the restaurant clean!
Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back here again soon and am looking forward to it.

So I can here off the recommendation of a close friend… and OMG I have to say, I was blown away by the quality of the food and hospitality of the staff. Honestly a huge Hawaiian BBQ fan and I was skeptical to try a place that I’ve never been to but I have to say I’m glad I did.
I ordered the Katsu chicken (I know typical right) meal and a drink. It came out shortly after, served by a staff member with a friendly smile. I took my fork and dove in to the chicken Katsu (I haven’t ate in a few hours and I was über hungry) and I was greeted with a flavor explosion of love and Hawaiian goodness. I wish I could have have this for every meal of my life. The flavor is not one that can be described but one that has to be tried for oneself. It is hands down the best Hawaiian BBQ I’ve ever had.
If you want to try the best Hawaiian BBQ in California, you have to try this place. I definitely will be back.

My party ordered the family pack, BBQ chicken, short ribs, and beef, along with an order of Katsu chicken and two sides: rice and macaroni.
We paid a little under $ 100, but it was enough to feed 12 people. There was tons of left overs– so maybe it was enough for more people.
The Katsu chicken was delicious! The BBQ chicken was also good. I did not like the variety of short rib and beef so much. But they sure know how to cook chicken. The macaroni was delicious.
My whole party loved the good!
This is an awesome place to bring your family and friends for a nice lunch or dinner.

L&L is always a great treat. Every time you walk is the door you here Aloha! Customer service is always great. If it takes some time they will offer a drink while you wait. Over the years I have had just about everything on the menu. It is all good and reasonably priced. I especially like the Musabi and Lumpia but the Roasted pork and brown gravy is my ATF for an entrée!

Pretty good food, not bad, nothing phenomenal and nothing surprising. It is consistent though and it is better than another Hawaiian restaurant I had been at. My youngest is picky and they customize her masubi, to her relief.
They seem to be very strict when it comes to napkins. We have a family of 7 and use up a ton, we have to keep going up to the front to ask for more. I guess it’s due to most people wasting napkins, but for us, we need 2 napkins per kid.
Masubis are a family favorite! They make an egg masubi for my youngest which she loves. The server up front remembers things very well, she remembered my to go order and someone’s keys which actually makes the experience better! If I could boost this up to 3 ½ stars I would.
We frequent this place. Yum yum!
