I’ve been going to this restaurant since they opened. This is my first time to the elk grove location and wow. This place is so nice! Lots of TVs, a nice huge bar with a bunch of beer on taps what more could you ask for. Came here today for the Big 4 by Track 7. This is a special beer that is hard to get on tap. I want to say this is the only restaurant with it on tap and track 7 probably ran out of it in tap already. Don’t forget to try the food, the best carne asada fries/garlic fries. And their chipotle wings are some of the best wings I’ve tried ever.

This place is great! Service was perfect, the food was amazing! Got the Bacon Alvacado burger with buffalo and upgraded the fries with carnie asada. Will be back for sure!!! Lots of exotic meats, and so many great toppings. The bacon… LOVE!!! Great flavor and ALOT of food. It’s at a reasonable price. More food and cheaper then other gourmet burger places.

My 1st choice restaurant close due to electrical problem. We decide to go to OZ but I decide to go to FG café for my birthday meal. Service wer kind bad. The waitress did not even ask if we want drink. Finally we order food & drink. Our meals seem came quickly except mine. I was ok with that since we had appetizer. When my burger came, they forgot few things. First, they gave me fries instead or onion string. Waiter took my meal Bach and change to onion strings. What a moron, he should just bring new on in ring instead took my food. Than I realize they forgot beacon on my burger… WTH, my meal is ruined. Lastly, the waitress keep forgetting to refill my drink, when she did almost forgot my drink is regular not diet Hell, the burger were good but worst service in my book. Between 3 of us, only my meal had problem. I was suppose be the main since it us my birthday meal!

I have eaten at this location as well as their original location on El Camino a number of times. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained. Service at this location is very spotty. I haven’t received terrible service but it is not consistent and is not always sincere. The food is always fresh and piping hot. I love their carne asada fries. They’re cheesy, meaty goodness. I love to add avocado and grilled jalapeños to give them an extra kick. I’ll be the first to admit my order is somewhat complicated. This is in part due to my tastes as well as them having screwed up my order several times in a row. As we all know, eating out can be expensive and can be frustrating when you don’t receive what you paid for. Their burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and the like are tasty and hit the spot when they are made the way you ordered them. I voiced my disappointment and frustrations to an employee during my last visit when they added avocado to my grilled cheese rather than my fries and forgot my grilled jalapeños. Like I told him, there are a number of places to eat in Elk Grove. They got to where they are by serving a great product that is a little unique because of their beer selection and exotic meats. That said, a number of average businesses in Elk Grove have failed. I hope they’re not next, but they have some work to do in order to regain my regular business and trust. I wish them well and hope they step their game up.

I reaaaally wanted to like this place, but it was unfortunately just ok. Right off of I5, Flaming Grill is located conveniently near Oz and the gas stations, but is a little hard to spot off the freeway. The restaurant was clean and spacious, but that’s about all I was impressed with. The service def needs improvement. Our waitress never asked how we wanted our burger cooked, and she doesn’t use a pen & pad when taking orders… so she forgot our order and had to come back to have us repeat it. Then when our food finally came out(after a long time), she had forgotten the napkins, extra plates, and sides of cheese/sour cream that she promised earlier. The food was decent — HUGE portions! I highly recommend splitting an entrée w someone else. My bf & I shared a Smokehouse BBQ burger(wagyu beef patty; they have other exotic meat options like bison!) with carne asada fries and they filled us up. The burger was dry & nothing special, even with the exotic meat. I would go back only for the happy hour(3−6pm) and fries.

Came in on a Friday night at 7pm. The atmosphere is quite loud with the large party in the back and the multi Tvs going on. Didn’t drink so can’t comment on the booze. The server was pretty good as it was our first time here and he took the time to give us the run down of the menu. We started with the garlic jumbo wings.(7 wings with a side of ranch). Pretty basic(meh) but nothing to drool over. Chorizo burger –patty topped with fried egg, homemade chorizo,(they forgot my avocado),(no to sour cream), and a homemade picked jalapeño(super hot) with upgrade carne asada fries. This burger was ordered medium, but came out and was close to well done. Dry. Tasted like charred meat. The fries were the savior of this plate. Asada burger — patty topped with garlic fries, cheddar cheese, carne asada, pick de gallo, avocado, sour cream, and fresh jalapeño. Hubby’s take was the patty had no taste except char. Both burgers you cannot… wait, we would not attempt to shove in our mouths. They are huge! It says the patties are«Hoser’s Signature 10oz. Fresh Ground Chuck, New York & Bacon». Yummy, right? No. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some meat, but these burgers are for cavemen. Plus 1 soda(free refills) $ 45 for meh food. 1 star for the server who explained the menu and ½ star for the side of carne asada fries. Won’t be coming back. At least we saved 20% with the ZBest coupon.

All I can say is big big portions. As a vegetarian there’s not a lot that I can do at a burger joint but omgness the carne asada fries with no carne asada are absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the veggie philly cheese sandwich and that made the ex-meat eater me so happy. I totally did not miss meat at all even though I was eye ballin’ the burgers next to me LOL I also ordered Creamin’ the Irish which was stout and cream soda… All I can say yum yum yum. Let’s just say I left feeling 10 pounds heavier.

Flaming grill is definitely worth trying at least once. They are known for the exotic burgers but the burgers aren’t exotic when it comes to flavor. Yes, they have varieties of different type of meats but what’s the point if it doesn’t taste too great. Pretty pricey but you do get a good portion. I honestly like the carne asade fries. Good flavor. Customer Service pretty good as well.

I have been to the Flaming Grill out in the Arden/Arcade area a few times so I was interested in trying the one in Elk Grove to see if it was as good. It was with great pleasure and anticipation that Ida and I met William L and Lucy M there on a Saturday night. Naturally it was busy, being a Saturday night but we managed to get a table right away and order from the nice selection of craft beers they have on tap. After nursing our beers for a few minutes while waiting for Lucy to arrive and complaining how hungry I was, it was finally time to order our burgers. I ordered the mushroom swiss with carne asada fries on the side. I was being self absorbed and do not remember what anyone else ordered. I was asked how I wanted my burger and requested it with plenty of pink in the middle. I received a mound of food like you wouldn’t even believe. The carne asada fries were a complete meal in themselves and that huge burger was beautifully placed on my plate, its upper bun being tilted like one of those gaudy hats worn at the Kentucky Derby with my steak knife doubling as a hatpin. The tilted bun was just barely angled enough to reveal its sexy inner secrets and was surely meant as a tease and played with my deepest inner emotions making a simple burger seem almost representative of a naughty sexual fantasy. What to do? This was way too much food for a 60 year old man trying to lose weight and the last thing he needed was to have some burger joint flaunting this humongous mound of over indulgence like an expensive French whore. I started with the carne asada fries, enjoying every single bite. They were crunchy on the outside while still being soft in the middle and were very flavorful with plenty of meat and cheese. Somewhere during this food orgy, I carefully sliced a small section off one side of my sexy burger revealing its tender pink inners while being careful not to disturb its lovely figure. I ended up taking the majority of the burger home where I thoroughly enjoyed it over the next couple of days.

I’m not much of a sports enthusiast, but I do enjoy the energy created at some sports bars. This café seems to manage that energy well with multiple TVs around the restaurant and bar area to keep the interest of their patrons. Joe K and I were meeting some Unilocal friends here, and even though it was quite busy, a table for 4 became available. William L. joined us, and then we just needed to wait for Lucy M. who was on her way. We let our waitress know to give us a little more time before ordering as we waited for our companion. The menu is quite extensive and features mostly a large variety of traditional burgers, exotic meats, and sandwich options. They also have salads, a few vegan and vegetarian items. The bar offers many different beer selections including some specialty cocktails. If you aren’t sure about what to choose, they will give you a sample beer tasting. When Lucy arrived, it seemed like we had to wait a lot longer than expected to have our orders taken. We had to wave down another waiter who was passing by to fetch our server. Eventually we got our orders placed and each of us had something different from the menu. I ordered the Veggie Philly Cheese sandwich and a Flaming Tea from the bar. The tea was supposed to be their version of a Long Island. It was thirst quenching, but pretty weak in the alcohol department. My sandwich was just OK tasting. Actually, I wasn’t fond of the spices used in making the«burger». They are very impressive as they serve huge plates of food with generous amounts of toppings like grilled onions. While the other members of our party seemed to enjoy their food, I was getting annoyed at the fact that the bread my burger was placed on was soggy right at first bite. I ended up eating it as if it were a casserole. However, my side of fries were crisp and delicious. The atmosphere in the dining area was far from relaxing, but I have to admit, makes for a good place to party with friends. If I happen to return here, at least I know what not to order next time, since the menu has a lot more appetizing options that I’m willing to explore.

This place is pretty good! It’s fun trying the different meat. Today… I had kangaroo meat(bacon avocado burger). It was interesting. It had a weird after taste. Kinda funky! The meat was lean. Other than the funky after taste from the meat… the burger was good and tasty. The fries there are awesome! So flavorful. The side salad that came with the burger was delicious. Atmosphere was awesome… pretty big bar. A lot of beers on tap. The beers are pretty current. I ordered a beer from track 7 that was released a week ago. The waitresses are nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and would comeback.

I’ve heard good things about Flaming Grill Café, and I’ve been really curious to see what it was like with their vast array of meats in their burgers. I was really interested to see the new location since it was so close to my sister’s house, so we came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There was a couple big groups besides us, but it didn’t feel that busy at all, and I guess my intrigue was so high, that it didn’t meet my expectations. Bigger is not always better, but come hungry. If you can think of a type of meat to make a burger out of, they do it. From high quality wagu, bison, venison, to regular beef chuck and more with lots of toppings. I opted for the rabbit/boar mix mushroom swiss burger, with regular fries. It was a BIG burger(½ pound), and the fries were pretty good and a lot of them. The meat was slightly gamey in taste, which was expected, but didn’t have much else to it in flavor, I didn’t really taste the mushrooms. We also split an order of carne asada fries which was okay. The jalapenos gave a nice kick with all of the cheese, but the carne asada was lacking in tiny pieces and dry. The shakes come in the big tin which is classic. What is really nice is they do offer quite a bit on craft beers on draft and bottles and bar seating to go along with table seating. I hope they do well at this location. You can’t see it from the road besides the signage that goes with the other restaurants. Just know it’s there when you want something different and go for the craft beers.

My boyfriend has been a fan of the original Flaming Grill for a while, but I never really cared to go. Just based off the pictures, everything seemed so fattening/greasy/over the top. The original location was also out of the way. When I heard they opened one in Elk Grove, I was intrigued, but not enough to go. Then my boyfriend’s sister invited us to go, so why not try it … for free haha. It’s located in the same lot as Oz Korean BBQ, so there is plenty of parking. Their front door either needs to be fixed or greased because people were having issues opening it and it would suddenly slam on them. Ouch. When I first entered, I heard someone talking to me, but could not locate where the voice was coming from. It turns out they have a reception area on the left that is extremely tall and awkward. I am below average height, but this stand is so tall, I thought it was a wall. We needed a table for 6, so we had to wait a couple minutes for them to set up. It was pretty busy, but it was a Saturday night. We were seated toward the back on the right at a long table against the wall. The bench seating was all along the back, which made having conversation difficult as we weren’t facing each other. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger with a waygu patty cooked medium. It was dressed with spring mix, tomato, and mayonaise. The burger was very tender, cooked just right with a little pink, and the sauteed mushrooms and onions were delicious. I would call this an onion swiss burger, however, as there were more onion than mushroom. The burger was juicy/greasy –you will need plenty of napkins. I got the regular fries which are like a seasoned curly fry, only not curly. Tasty and crispy. My boyfriend ordered the bacon cheddar burger on waygu. He asked for medium, but his was more under than mine or what I would have preferred. He didn’t mind, but still, the cooks should be more consistent. I would’ve sent it back if it were mine. He upgraded his fries to the carne asada fries. They’re topped with spicy pico, carne asada, and sour cream. Mmm! My boyfriend’s family thoroughly enjoyed their food. His nephews loved the fries. Our waiter was nice enough, but could’ve been faster with water refills. Note — my boyfriend’s nephews went to wash their hands in the rest room and it was out of soap. Yikes! Overall, the food was better than I expected. I did not care for the décor or atmosphere of the restaurant much, however. They have some kinks to work out, which hopefully they do since they’re still kinda new at this location. I would recommend to burger lovers — they have exotic meats if you’re willing to try!

Came here with the Hubby and wasn’t impressed with their service. The host who greeted us informed us it will be a 10 minute wait.(Really? It was dead on a Sunday night with many vacant tables available!) We watched her sweep the floors while we waited; unfortunately the floors were more important than the customers. It was a cold night and we had our 1 year old son with us, so we decided to move away from the front doors and stood by the Christmas tree. She was adamant and repeatedly told us we «need» to stand by the door. I was completely annoyed by her that we decided to seat ourselves at one of the vacant tables. Immediately, a waitress came by and took our drink orders and handed us menus. I ordered the Carne Asada fries topped with sour cream, meat and jalapeños. Fries were way too greasy and the meat was flavorless. Wouldn’t recommend this for an appetizer. Husband ordered their frog legs, didn’t get to try it since it looked a bit too gamey for my liking! We decided to share the Mushroom Swiss burger which was good(not amazing) with a side of salad. Waited almost 20 minutes for the burger, but the patty was massive so it was understandable. The burger came with sautéed mushrooms and your usual produce. Overall, this place is only OK. Not really a fan of this location. Personally think the El Camino location tastes better and they offer better service! Won’t be back anytime soon.

First time here … It took 20 – 30 minutes to get my to-go order. I ordered Wagyu with carne asada fries(additional $ 2.99. It cost around $ 16. The fries were tasty. When I bit into my burger, I can also see it was overcooked. The flavor of the burger and fries are amazing. Even though Wagyu was a good cut of meat and was overcooked, it made the meat dry and not tasty ! I wouldn’t recommend coming to this place unless they don’t over cook my meat. Maybe in a few months or more, then I might come back to give it a try. For now I wouldn’t pay $ 12.49 for overcooked burger.

I’ve been wanting to try this location since they opened but waited until the reviews got better, so last weekend my kids and Hubby decided to give them a try. We arrived around 12:15ish on a Sunday, restaurant was pretty empty which was good. We were given a table option and settled in. We 1st ordered milk shakes, cider and a citra beer. The milk shakes took a bit long but no worries it gave us time to settle in and review the menu. Once our drinks came, we ask the server what other exotic meat specials(menu says to ask) did they have offer. Our server advised; kangaroo, camel and lobster burgers. We all decided and placed our order; Regular Beef cheddar bacon burger with carne asada fries, kangaroo patty melt with regular fries, Bison Avocado Bacon burger with garlic fries, Venison Blue Bacon burger with added mushrooms and side salad, and lastly Gator bites plus two sides of their crazy hot sauce. As we waited I had to note how uncomfortable the tables and seats are. Table tops are very solid concrete material and the so are some of the benches, which wasn’t ideal for a long wait. My back was not happy due to the lack of support, since the tables are bolted done we are unable to move the table closer to the benches. I get the look but comfort clearly was not in the vision. Soon after, the Gator bites arrived; though they were tasty the presentation and size lacked! By now we all were starving and the restaurant was filling up fast… I think we waited about 30 minutes for food. Overall the portion size is on the larger side but the size of my Hubby’s regular fries look pretty sad. The other complaints we had were; buns were dry and toasted to hard, medium was more like medium well or well, kangaroo melt need something else(kind of boring). We all needed to go boxes. My daughter loved her bison burger which she ordered well. Our bill was around $ 95 before tip, basically all those upgrades really add up. Carne Asada fries is $ 2.99 and I believe so were the upgraded garlic fries. Paying $ 1 for a side of special hot sauce seems a bite steep or even paying $ 1 for salad vs. fries is silly. Glad we came and tried but doubt we will hit this place up often. Love the concept, but I had a similar experience at the El Camino location. I did want to note they also have Happy Hour during the week and the place at least 5 TVs for football watching. Maybe HH is the way to go?

Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my! Ok… so I don’t think they served those, but they do have a variety of other exotic meats. I really need to try a burger with an animal I never had like kangaroo, but I would not be able to help feeling sorry for the kangaroo. My friend and I both ordered the wagyu bacon avocado burger. I wanted to share because the burgers looked big and I was sure I wouldn’t be able to finish it all. She didn’t want to share though. The burger was good, butI usually don’t care for fries, but these were seasoned perfectly. I liked how crispy there were too.

Rating: 3.5 This new location is bigger than their first establishment. The servers were friendly and will explain how to order if it’s your first time there. I had the jalapeño jack with the special longhorn, wagyu and bacon patty, medium rare, with a side of sweet potato garlic fries. When my dish came out, I was surprised at how much food was on my plate; they do not skimp out on the fries! I liked how fresh the ingredients on my burger were and the jalapeños were no joke, definitely added a kick to my burger. I like my food with sauce, so in my opinion my burger was more on the dry side and I would probably ask for more sauce on the side next time. The meat was good and you could taste the bits of bacon. My fries weren’t garlic fries at all(I’m thinking they probably forgot to add the garlic) and I didn’t bother to tell the server so it was whatever. I did get to taste my friend’s regular garlic fries and they were pretty good although very oily. I’ll have to come back to try their more exotic choices like gators and frog legs.

This isn’t even funny anymore. Came here for a third time and still had issues. I did go back to the pastrami burger like I said I would in my previous review. This time my friends and I ordered food to go. The order: 1. Half pound pastrami burger with brown rice 2. 4 jalapeño jack CHICKEN burgers with fries Can you guess what happened? Drove home, opened the boxes and BOOM4 jalapeño jack BEEF burgers with fries. My friends can’t eat beef so this was the biggest disappointment. Called Flaming Grill Café up to let them know so they can start cooking the chicken burgers and when we got there they will be ready. Drove all the way back to the restaurant to pick them up. At least the staff said they were sorry and offered to let us keep the burgers but my friends couldn’t eat it so there was no point. Experiences like these is making me NOT want to come back. Looks like to get a good experience here is to eat at the restaurant and order a burger. Yes we should have checked the food before we left and if there is a next time I will.
