Golden Donuts

I called on a Monday and ordered 15 maple bars and 15 chocolate bars to be picked up on Thursday morning at 7:20 am. I was quoted $ 17 and told they would be ready when I showed up. On Wednesday I received a message telling me they quoted me wrong and the price would be $ 28. Not thrilled with this situation, I agreed and showed up at 7:30 am on Thursday just to find out they did not have my order ready. I asked them to fill in the half box of space left over with donut holes to make up for their mistakes. They put in 6, REALLY 6!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I’ve witnessed them doing this to church orders on Sundays as well, hence my calling ahead to make sure the order was ready on time. They just lost this customer.

Went in the other morning for my daughter and her friends after a sleepover. Doughnuts & chocolate milks always a winner! Selection is good, prices are fair and they are always fresh!

First time coming here, it was around 5am. It had a steady flow of people and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The selection for the dozen wasn’t anything crazy. Which is why I’m giving it 4 stars, but the glazed, Maple and powdered donuts were so good. I tried the ham and cheese croissant sandwitch and it too was great! I’d ded come back here if I was a morning person lol

I came here last week and got 7 doughnuts and 2 ham croissants. But they totally forgot to add my croissants into my box. I had already left and got to work (in Natomas) and was not about to drive back. I checked my receipt to see if they charged me, and they did. Bummer. The doughnuts were pretty good but I was super sad.

Really love the donuts. Tried the glazed cronut with strawberry and whipped cream. I can’t even describe the texture, it’s fluffy and light but has some density. I love it. I like the variety of doughs and muffins. There’s also breakfast sandwiches. The owner is very nice and friendly. I had a whole 30 minutes conversation with her about food and she recommended a couple of restaurant. Very sweet lady. Totally recommend this donut place.

This place is a little out of way, but I love coming here. They have an amazing assortment of fresh and delicious options. I love their maple bars and donut holes. They are always cooked to perfection and covered in a delicious frosting.
The employees are friendly as well.

Their «donuts» are awesome! Not cheaply made. Not thin. Not a day old. The right texture. The right glaze. Love their donut holes, freekin addicting, a must get ya’ll! If they don’t have a donut u want then they’ll customize one for u. I’ve gotten the glaze donuts fresh before and they were so fluffy, hot and delicious. I skip on the cronuts since that not so good 1^st time. I’ve tried a few other donuts shop and this place beats them hands down!

Recommend from Great Clips next door while getting a haircut and we took their advice. Glad we did!
Great customer service and amazing donuts. I got the bacon maple bar. Do not go through life without trying one! Did I mention the super delicious hot chocolate? Goes great with the bacon maple bar!

After craving donuts and seeing all the awesome Unilocal pics, I went out of my way to check out Golden Donuts on a Saturday. It was around 9 am and the shop had quite a few customers. This worked out well because I got to peruse the selection without feeling rushed.
I got some maple bars, crème filled donuts and of course, cronuts. Let me preface this by saying I LOVE sweets. The sweeter the better. However, their donuts were too sweet for me, especially the cronut. I think it would have been perfect if it wasn’t glazed. The combination of the donut glaze and the sweet whipped cream made their cronut too rich even for my taste. The same for the cream filled donut. I liked their maple bars and their old fashioned. I think in the future, I will stick to their regular donuts.
What really won me over was the service. When I ordered, they only had one maple bar in their display. The gentleman who was helping me said he would bring out more maple bars in a few minutes. When he did, he put in two fresh donuts in my box rather than putting in the one from the case. When I paid, Amanda asked if this was my first time and when I told her it was, she introduced herself and shook my hand. She was telling me about their specialty offerings and invited me back. These small details really make an impression on me. Donut shops are a dime a dozen, but great customer service is something to look forward to. I will most certainly be back.

When you’re allowed donuts only on Saturday/​Sunday, you dream of it all week long.
My sister and I placed a dozen croissant donuts a week in advance since we were going to be in town.
The gentlemen (forgot his name) had everything ready for us at 9am! I am glad we placed an order because the croissant donuts on display with the regular donuts were almost sold out!
My sister and I devoured half the box before even got home! (Remind you our drive time was only 1 hour) The donuts were that good! We did not regret one single bite of it.

Had my first cronut here — it was awesome! There were just four cronuts left when we got there at 10:30 this morning. Also tried the chocolate cakey-​donut things and the bacon maple bar. I don’t really see the appeal of the bacon on top but the bun itself was delicious and fresh.
The only thing I didn’t like is that the cream they put in the cronut wasn’t fresh. It had the waxy-​plasticky taste of long life or non dairy cream. That was a little off putting, especially in such a good donut.
They have a nice seating area and give refills on the coffee.

It would have been a solid 5 stars after our first visit, but they lost one from our second. We’ve had their donuts before when family members have brought them to breakfast, and they’ve always pretty good. We finally went for ourselves to try their croissant donuts, which were better AND cheaper than the donut shop next to Krispy Kreme on Florin Road. When they didn’t have enough of the flavor we wanted, the gentleman behind the counter quickly frosted a plain cronut for us. He was very accommodating, although a little abrupt and stern-​looking (haha couldn’t think of any other way to describe him.)
Anyway, it was a hit! We came back the following week to get enough cronuts for the whole family! Annnnnnnd the same gentleman told us they didn’t have croissant donuts that day. He didn’t say they were out, he didn’t say it’d be a wait, he didn’t offer any explanation. He just said they didn’t have it. They didn’t bother to take down their cronut signs and advertisements from the donut display, either, so there we were, checking out all of the flavors and swallowing our drool like a couple of fools.
What a disappointment. We felt kind of dumb and ended up leaving empty-​handed. I don’t know… maybe it’s three stars. I’ll be back one more time to find out.

I have never went inside this wonderful assortment of goodness. My husband and my kids would always go. I live down the street for 11 years and today was my first. It was a warm invite from the gentlemen behind the counter. The owner she is very funny and so sweet. She was injured but still had a great personality. I had ordered a crissant breafast sandwich yummy, big and tasty plain crissant yummy, glazed donute crissant and the blueberry on blueberry was delicious. This place is a great place to start your day.

I came in at about noon and noticed that they sold cronuts as well! The cronuts on display are plain and they customize it to your likings (e.g. Chocolate, Maple) I absolutely love this concept because it’s a lot fresher. They were so fluffy and crispy.
The cronuts were delicious but I’d give 5 stars alone just on the customer service. When I came in, they had sold out of the red velvet cronuts but Amanda offered to customize a few of the plain cronuts into red velvet ones!
I used to be a regular at baker’s donuts before I discovered this donut shop, but this place just squashes them. No more having to deal with the rude customer service at baker’s :) Golden Donuts just made a regular out of me

I’ve been dropping by this place every now and then during these past few years I’ve been living here in Sacramento, and I’m surprised it took me this long to finally Unilocal about it.
This mom and pop donut shop is what you would imagine: good donuts, good prices, and good customer service.
I’m a fan of their plain donuts and their newly added cronuts. They have a ton of options you can put on top of them, it’s insane.

I was in search of cronuts after hearing about them on the Food Network. After using my go-​to Unilocal search engine, I found out this little donut shop makes them!
I actually purchased cronuts for a potluck and they were a hit! Everyone devoured them! Everyone was surprised at how flaky, yet donut-​y they were. I should mention that I purchased the donuts at 8 am for a 10 pm potluck and everyone still loved them 14 hours later. So imagine if they tried them right out of the oven???
I have personally tried the thai tea glazed and double chocolate glazed cronuts. They are flaky where you can pull apart the top layer, yet dense and donut-​y at the same time. They’re sweet and soft and pair so well with coffee or milk. This is my first time trying cronuts so I don’t have any comparison, but I thought this place made them so well.
Staff were great. They were friendly and helpful for a first-​timer. I met the owner and baker and she was telling me her latest creations and what was popular there. I ordered a 12-​pack of cronuts and they came out perfect and right on time. I will be back!

Had lunch next door and decided to get some donuts for dessert. Walked in half hour before closing time and was greeted promptly by the sweetest, friendliest lady. We ordered a half dozen of assorted donuts. My mistake, I should’ve ordered atleast a dozen. OMG! So good, I couldn’t stop devouring them. I believe that since it was so close to closing, she threw in 2 extra donuts. So grateful that she did, because half a dozen wouldn’t have been enough to satisfy my newly developed addiction. The donuts may look ordinary but, they’re soooo soft and fresh!

The best doughnuts that I had that was hubby said when he tried it the first time.
His coworker bring some to work and hubby was hook ever since and that was 5 years ago.
Crispy on the out side and soft in side doughnut, what ever the filling are, Golden donut made it right.
We hade doughnut on the weekend is a must :)
