The Bourbon Room

Spacious interior with nice décor and a large outdoor seating area that would be great in the summer. Went on a Saturday evening with a group of 35 – 40 people. Unfortunately the service was extremely lacking and the food only average. With our large group the staff found it difficult to prepare and serve our food in a timely manner. Watching the waitress carry each plate around looking for the proper recipient was disheartening. Since some of our group had to sit in another room it made it only more difficult. Some of our group had finished their meals and were leaving while others were just being served. Poor management seems to be an issue with this establishment.

Why is it so difficult to get a decent meal in the Ramsey/​Nowthen area? This is the question I ask myself every time I am dragged out to breakfast (reluctantly) by my well intended wife.
The décor is beautiful, hard wood floors, wood and copper tables, and a rustic reclaimed (barn wood look) wall paneling.
This bar is somewhat affiliated with Moonshine Whisky in East Bethel, so… If you are interested in getting drunk, this is he place for you. As I am writing this the gentleman at the next table over says «yes, I will have another mic golden light).
If you are looking for a decent breakfast, stay home, or go to the Northwoods Bar and Grill next door, (check out my review of their breakfast) yes it is horrible, and yes it was better than this poo poo platter of dry scrambled eggs, terrible cheap sausage and NO BACON! More bacon was brought out after I asked, but should I have to?!
As a former cook I would be horribly embarrassed to be preparing this food. Turn the heat down omelette guy! Several over browned omelettes were happily eaten by the other patrons.
As the owner of this establishment, I am assuming you haven’t tasted the bounty of bull $hit you serve acting as breakfast, or if you have, maybe you should start preparing excuses, when you are forced to explain to your investors, how you lost millions of dollars, when the inevitable «PERMANENTLY CLOSED» sign hangs in the window.

Went on a week night and waited over an hour for our food that was subpar no incentives besides being offered pretzels to tide us over to make the wait worth it. Also had to wait half hour for a table for just two of us. Posted on their Facebook page to never get a response and to have the bad review taken down. Won’t be going back

Was very excited to try the new local tavern. Walked in to a cool little spot with lots of TVs and plenty of open seating. All was going well until our server went on break and forgot to put in our order and forgot to transfer our ticket. Needless to say we sat for over a half an hour with no server and no food. When she came back from break she was in a new section and never came back to our table. Another woman did her best to help us, however when our food finally came out it was wrong!!! So back to the kitchen it went with even more time waiting.
After the meal the 2^nd server had to track down our original server to get the bill for us. My whole family cleaned up and loaded up the car and she still never came back to get my credit card. Once again she had to be tracked down just to take my money.
Was in there for over an hour and a half at 2 in the afternoon when the restaurant wasn’t busy enough to have slow service. Not to mention all we got was an appetizer and burgers. Didn’t get a chance to order drinks or dessert. She never pre-​bussed our table so we ate with dirty napkins and plates from our appetizers, empty drinks. But then again that’s what happens when your server goes on break and forgets about you. Didn’t offer to make things right-​no discount, no dessert, no incentive to get us back. Which to be quite honest I will not ever go back and I won’t recommend this place to any of my friends. If I could give 0 stars I would have.

We were super excited to have a new bar in the area as we weren’t really ever trilled with Northwoods… unfortunately they failed miserably. It’s a Saturday night at 9:40pm and I’m writing this review from the Northwoods bar because we couldn’t get any service at the bar at Bourbon Room. We had previously stopped by twice and the service was decent and food was good. Tonight 3 of us walked in to a semi busy bar and sat down, there was 3 to 4 employees behind the bar and we waited approximately 5 minutes without anyone looking up or greeting us. We got up and left. probably won’t be back. Disappointed because the food is better over at Bourbon but if you can’t get service what’s the point? Wake up management and owners.

The Bourbon Room is in some way affiliated with Moonshine Whiskey in East Bethel; if you’ve tried the food there, you know what’s up. Decent American staples with a little southern /​bbq flair mixed in.
The whiskey list is as complete as you would expect from a joint with ‘Bourbon’ in their name, though they are suffering the same shortage of Blanton’s as the rest of the planet. My momentary excitement at seeing it listed was dashed by the rather fetching bartendress.
The beer list, on the other hand, is standard Anoka County disappointment, with four light beers, two ciders, a sold-​out Indeed IPA, and some Leinies offerings. I hope they take note that the one keg of decent microbrew was cashed and change up a few more taps. Winter is here and daddy needs some porter!
The space is a brand new, wide open layout. I could see it being a little loud if packed, but even on a steady Thursday conversations weren’t strained. There is a well lit pull-​tab booth for the cardboard-​crack-​addicted, an overhead door behind the bar, presumably to serve directly to the patio (brrr!), and a few tvs scattered around if you want to catch a game.
Decent food, better than usual cocktails, weak-​sauce beer list. I’ll head back a few times and bump it up a star if the food stays strong and the beer list improves.
