Great cup of Joe! Love the atmosphere and the happy camper latte. Very friendly staff, a little pricy but worth it.

Great tasting coffee and some healthy snack options too such as nutty granola bars and dark chocolate covered fruit. Lots of options for syrups too if that’s what you’re in to!

I stopped in because being from out of town, I needed the free wifi, and the coffee to work on some school assignments. So, I ended up turning to Unilocal, and found this little cornerstone of the Elko community. I love the theme, décor, and atmosphere of this place. I asked for suggestions from the ladies at the counter and they mentioned that their cowboy coffee was their signature drink. I ordered a medium and reluctantly paid the $ 4.44 for the thing. However, I found out that I drank all of it, as it was VERYGOOD. And worth every penny. I ended up sticking around for a few hours, taking advantage of the free wifi. If you choose to do what I did and need a quiet place to work this wouldn’t be the greatest option. They do have country music a little louder than your typical coffee shop. All in all, I took advantage of their«caffeine» card(punch card) as I plan to be here many more times when I find myself here.

Great service. Awesome coffee! It also has a nice atmosphere of you are just burning time or doing some reading. I love that they promote the art in the area as well.

On a boring street, in a small boring town, lies Cowboy Joe. If like me, you are used to the more, um, lively dining establishments of the bay area, you might think this café, never mind, this whole town is a few levels below you. But beyond the unassuming exterior of Cowboy Joe, is a stylish Western themed café. What’s more, their coffee is absolutely delicious. And so is their hot chocolate, and their pastries, and everything else I’m assuming. This place is awesome. If there’s a slim chance you’re in northeast Nevada, and an even slimmer chance you’re in Elko, you might want to give this place a try.

While visiting Elko, we were glad to find this place. Good light, and excellent coffee! They have a couple of booths in the front windows, and the one we sat in was nice and cozy. The house blend of their coffee is awesome!

What a coffee shop should be. Flavorful drinks including their own specialty drinks. Eagles on the radio. Eclectic décor reflecting the town. Menu written on a blackboard. What’s not to like?

When you are out of town on assignment it can suck. Suck like bad breakfast at your hotel. Suck like bad food and trying to figure out ways to eat healthy and still enjoy putting nutrients in your face. Suck like being alone on a Saturday night when all of your friends are back home doing something fun and you know you have to get up the next day and work. Suck like bad coffee. Horrible bad hotel or gas station coffee. Praise the Lord Cowboy Joe is in Elko! It no suck. I’ve had a few specialty coffees. And they are a bit pricey. Who cares. They are worth every penny. I’ve had the«brewed» and that stuff is gold! It’s magical. It’s just down right awesome. The ladies who are there are always friendly and seem to have good taste in music. They have cool coffee shop kitsch for sale and they even have a good deal if you bring your own mug! Lastly…if you aren’t a cash carrier like I am. You may want to consider a gift card. That way, you don’t hit the charge card every time you go in. My guess is they have some sort of minimum with the credit card company. And if by some fluke of a chance you are driving through Elko during their business hours and want a coffee. Make the tiny detour and get it here. I promise you wont be disappointed. Especially in their breve.

I like this place. A local coffee place with a nice variety on the menu. Also offer a few alternatives to cow milk.

I loved this place. It’s my new favorite coffee place in Elko. I went in on a Wednesday morning at 8 am. The service was quick despite a lot of people there. They have a walk up coffee bar. The décor is really cute cowboy décor. They sell mugs and tshirts. I’m going back tomorrow! It’s next to McAdoo’s on 5th. There is street parking and a public parking lot around the corner. There is comfy seating in case you want to bring a book and enjoy your coffee. It’s walking distance to all of downtown, and right next door to the Western Folklife Center.

I love cowboy joe. The drinks are great, the baristas know what they’re doing. There’s free wifi and a variety of seating options: booths, couch, tables, even a back patio!

Cowboy Joes will make the sun rise on anyone’s day! Despite the traditional sounding name cowboy joes is very hip with fresh art and the eye opening smell of fresh ground coffee. I’ve been to coffee places all over the west including Seattle the king of Java and I have to say I’m proud to have this delicious place in humble old Elko.

The service from the baristas is really great but the coffee not so much. It can be very bland sometimes. Sometimes its delicious sometimes not so much.

Elko is an interesting town. On one hand the downtown area has its roots firmly set in old school casinos and businesses, and on the flip side there are a handful of local spots that could be considered, depending on your perspective, city-esque. Despite the name, Cowboy Joe could easily be transported out of Elko and dropped into a city. Coffee drinks abound, including chai, specialty drinks made with almond and soy milk. Cute spot, good coffee.

The best coffee shop in Elko. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from and some baked goods too. The coffee is strong and the staff is always cheerful and fast. The interior is on the small side, but it’s not cramped. They have a few tables inside and a patio on the back if you’re wanting to sit and enjoy your coffee for a little while.

Not good coffee. Not good service. The cashier doesn’t wash her hands before making your food and it’s just gross. I would have to say that you should just hit the local Starbucks and get what you expect. I try so hard to support local coffee over chains like Starbucks but they also have to meet me half way and provide good service/good coffee. Sorry but this place offered neither.

I have been to Cowboy Joe a few times since I’ve lived in Elko and I have to say that I understand why so many people in Elko recommend this coffee place. It’s got a great little seating area and some drinks that are personal to Cowboy Joe. They have a variety of syrups too. I had a cherry latte the first time I went there and it was absolutely amazing! Their coffee is great and the caffeine kicks in quite quickly! All in all, this is a great place to go when you would like a quick cup of coffee and they have a great punch card system for drink rewards as well!

This place seems a little cramped and cluttered, but it was a very comfortable place to sit and enjoy my drink anyway. Only about a dozen or so people could actually hang out in here at a time. I was very tempted to buy some of the locally inspired or made souveniers/books. I got the iced chai tea and it was pretty damned good. I know I will be back here.
