Mustang burger is very good, I recommend the tobasco chips and the onion rings too. The place is pretty smoky so I took my food to go.

Really terrible. Steak was burned(ordered medium). Pizza was raw and doughy. They tried replacing the raw pizza but the 2nd one was raw too. The soup was cold. The house salad was straight out of a bag. The shrimp was served in a terrible mushroom and tomato dish that was neither hot or cold. The server tried to fix things but the meal was terrible. The homeless drunk in the bathroom didn’t improve the experience.

Not impressed. The dining room was way too close to the casino floor so everything smelt and felt like old cigarette. Our waitress was really trying hard, but they were understaffed and she wrote our orders on her hand *awkward*. The club sandwiches were really good, but those are hard to screw up if your ingredients are remotely fresh. I ordered the«lighter fare grilled chicken». The chicken was nicely done and the soup(chicken tortilla) was delishiously overflowing with cheese, BUT the«chef veggie» side was TERRIBLE. Old, mush carrots that were seasoned like sweet potatoes. They were so bad that my toddler wouldn’t even eat them and she loves sweet mushy snacks. I literally picked up the little bowl of carrots, walked over to the open kitchen and told the chefs that they obviously knew how to cook chicken, so why were they so lazy with the veg? We are just passing through, but I don’t ever want to go back.

I went with the top sirloin dinner. Was very surprised how well it was cooked and tasted great for a cut I don’t usually like. Came with mashed potatoes that were melt in your mouth buttery and still had a good amount of lumps and skins to let you know it didn’t come from a box. A little disappointed with the overcooked corn and side salad. Would go back again if I ever found myself in Elko.

I have been impressed with my meals both the times that I have eaten here. The spinach salad is incredibly hardy and very well put together with great ingredients. Also the Buffalo burger made of buffalo meat was well prepared. The food is so down home and comfy, and the service has always added to the down home and comfy feel, leading to forget that it is even in a Casino. I will certainly be back time and time again.

Been here three times now. Every time we have excellent meals. Portions are a good size. Good homemade meals at a fair price. Great service will definitely be back when in the area on our travels.

Quick, efficient and most impressive of all, truly personable wait staff made this a good breakfast. The make your own omelette of 3 eggs and 2 ingredients, with additionals at $ 0.95 a piece, comes with hash browns and toast. Not wowing but more importantly not at all disappointing, and isn’t that iften what we need in meals on the road? To not be disappointed? Well, I wasn’t, and with the addition of a $ 5 coupon on $ 10 or more spent, this was way inexpensive and of good quality. If traveling through Elko, this is a good spot for a wuick, likely not to disappoint meal.

Fantastic dining experience at JR’S. My husband and I enjoyed the best steak of our life. The food and service was incredible. I would recommend JR’S to my friends and family.

We were there for dinner. The spot was close — walking distance — to our Hotel. I had shrimps with rice what was ok. My son had the mustang burger — he could not eat it — the taste was awful. Service was very friendly so I’m tending to give 3 stars but because of the mustang burger 2 stars are the most.

Enjoyable meal of steak ribeye and mash. Great bar and drinks. They did go out and kill the cow as it took 30 minutes to get the steak. Once at the table it was very good.

Enjoyed our dinner here. T-bone was cooked perfect as well as the Buffalo Burger. Aimee was a friendly server who did an exceptional job!

Started off with a salad… what a joke, crap iceberg with a couple of cherry tomatoes. ate the tomatoes, the rest was crap. Ordered the prime rib… nice size cut and good quality meat but not seasoned enough BEFORE cooking. The au jus was decent and the creamy horseradish was ok. The corn-on-the-cob was over cooked and not sweet with no butter. The mashed potatoes were edible. Overall the dinner was fair at best. I won’t be back…

Excellent mid day waiter and breakfast, but evening staff was less so. We ordered pizza and pasta for dinner. Bland pasta and very over cooked pizza. I would only recommend for breakfast.

Great service by Eric tonight and food was mostly spot on. I was impressed that they were limiting the number of patrons in the dining room as they were short staffed in the kitchen. The posole soup was delicious The pot roast was piled high, flavorful and had a great gravy. The carrots were also perfect(though frozen variety) My only complaint is there should have been a roll and the menu said red potatoes yet it had a baked potato cut in chunks and appeared to have sat in a steam tray much too long.

I gotta give it to this place. It seemed like every single plate that came out looked like it was plated for a movie set or some sort of photo shoot. I really was impressed as stuff went by as I sat at the counter. But the night was just full of misstep after misstep. And maybe this was just an Easter issue… Anyway I get there and stand at the«please wait to be seated» sign for what seemed to be an inordinate amount of time… even though people were right there at the register… I guess I needed to be helped by the wait staff? Anyway maybe the hostess didn’t show, I don’t know. I asked to sit at the counter. I’m a single tonight. No need to take up space! Anyway I got my glass of water and my menu. Water glass was dirty so I sent it back and got a new one. Then I got my bowl of soup I ordered… in a cup… but she DID make it up to me by bringing me another cup! It was a tasty navy bean and asparagus soup. Nothing amazing but hearty enough. I had intended to come in for some ham since it was Easter. Ham special is out… booo. I’ll take the Cowboy Burger then. It’s got ham! And thankfully it did… because pulled the burger patty(puck) out and just at the ham sandwich. The floor manager noticed it and offered me a replacement. I said sure… but just the patty… I’ve already eaten the sandwich. A few long minutes later… a whole new plate comes out with fries and everything. She shakes her head and just gives it to me. I don’t know… my guess is that it was just an off day, with people working on Easter. I probably will come back here because the prices really aren’t that bad… and a place that can plate that well SHOULD be able to get it right most of the time. One other cool note… the parking lot has some oversized parking spots for people with trailers or big trucks. Nice touch! Too bad two of the four spaces were taken up by morons in regular vehicles.

Needed to stop for lunch on the drive from SLC to Reno and Unilocal provided us with some good reviews of JR’s Bar and Grill… It was really pretty darn good! Fish and chips and Chicken strips… pretty basic stuff but well done!

Four stars for the service. Two stars for the food. Three overall. Menu boasts they have the best steaks in northeastern Nevada. If these are the best I’d hate to eat a steak elsewhere in town. T-bone steak was thin, very tough and sinewy. Also not cooked properly, I requested medium rare and got barely cooked on one side and medium plus on the other. No I didn’t send it back since I suspected they would just throw the same steak back on the grill for too long, rendering it completely inedible. The sides were just ok, baked potato(good), steamed veggies(from frozen I’m sure), and iceberg lettuce garnished with a couple of cherry tomatoes and grated carrot passed for a house salad. Would I eat here again? Sure. I’ll stick to a sandwich though. There’s gotta be a better place for a steak in town!

Very good service good atmosphere and family friendly. They seated us in a timely manner and our server was prompt. The inside of the place was very clean an looked like somewhere you would find miss Kitty and Matt Dillon at and I liked that and found it to give you a very relaxed and at home feeling. I really enjoyed the hostess and the server they were very friendly and really took good care of us. Had the fish and chips and the only bad part was the cole slaw which kind of tasted nasty, but guess it was left over. The server returned to check on us several times which is unusual now days. I recommend this place
