I love honey pig’s BBQ. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 star is because I love dolsot bibimbap and they only have one option. Shin Chon Garden down the street has a better bibimbap menu with different options for toppings. But if you’re just looking for BBQ, this is the place to go.

After a night of partying me and some friends decided to get some«Korean» food but myself I consider Honey Pig Americanized. We came in ordered some Korean pancakes, pork belly, and squid. A few of us got soup too. Unfortunately there was a big nasty bug in the pancakes with instantly took the appetite of a few of our friends away. We informed the waiter and her appeared to be confused then he took the pancake back to the kitchen and tried to get another one made of course we declined it. His response was very nonchalant he didn’t even inform the manager nor were we offered a discount on our meal. One person in our group ordered the beef spare ribs and it literally came out with about 4 strips of meat costing well over $ 25. I would not recommend this restaurant yes it’s convenient being open 24⁄7 but the Germantown location is so much better and if you are in Ellicott City I would recommend Shin Chon garden for Korean BBQ they have a bigger menu and the food is authentic Korean cuisine.

Honey Pig always hits the spot when I’m in the DMV area. Yechon in Annandale would be my #1 choice but Honey Pig is way more convenient with all their locations. I love their kimchi. I usually go with bulgogi and spicy pork belly. Going at popular times usually means a wait. Like all korean bbq spots, the service isn’t always the greatest. They are constantly running around so don’t expect them to be fully focused on your table. If you like Korean BBQ, then this place will hit the spot.

Good place. I don’t know if I’d say it’s anything special compared to other Korean style BBQ places I’ve been. Service could use a little help as far as people coming around to check on the table and stuff like that. With so few options for this type of food in our area you’ve gotta take what you can get.

Korean BBQ at its best! When you’re in the DC area check this place out! Great ambiance. Great Service. Highly recommended.

After coming out of Gettysburg, my buddy suggested we hit up Korean barbecue. I very much accepted as I miss the old barbecue spots on the west coast. We took the hour drive from Gettysburg to here, which is located on a plaza with great coffee options too. We walked in and were immediately seated. We ordered three different cuts of beef, and most of it was already cooked for us. They grilled some kimchi, which complemented the beef perfectly. The other dishes also helped balance out the meal. The service was efficient. They took care of us very well, and the food was delicious. It was filling, yet I didn’t have to deal with being comatose afterward. Overall a great experience, I will repeat.

I love good K-BBQ. Honey Pig used to be a good go to especially with the late hours. The overall meal is still good, my normal order is bulgogi and it’s still hits the spot if I’m in the mood for K BBQ. Lately over the past few years though I’ve noticed the prices go up and the portion sizes dwindle. I’m not sure as to why but for what you I’m always still hungry after. If you are in the mood for K BBQ Honey Pig can still be on the radar but for my tastes it has become to pricey with underwhelming portion sizes.

I’m a pretty recent transplant from NYC where I’ve definitely been spoilt by KBBQ there. I can honestly say that the worst one I’ve been too is better than Honey Pig but then again, I NYC has some pretty superb spots and I always Unilocal b4 going. The bf took me here to supposedly the best KBBQ spot and I was super excited. Until I got there and it looked… I’ll be nice and say super casual. As with most KBBQ places in NYC on a busy night, the waitstaff were frantic and at times rude. The lack of English was more apparent but I’m also used to this and in my experience this *usually* means better food. Well, the meats came out and I didn’t like the grayish look of them… You know when you know it’s not very fresh anymore but it’s still alright to eat so you make it that same day right away? Yea, I that. It’s been so long(went in Nov 2015), I don’t remember the banchan much but I know I wasn’t too impressed. We ordered a bunch of drinks and just chillaxed in the lively crowd. Atmosphere wise, this place sort of reminded me of Pocha 32 in NYC’s Ktown but that’s more pub than restaurant and Honey Pig was way more expensive than there and with way less interesting drinks. I feel Honey Pig has a bit of an identity crisis where they want to be a legit restaurant but also pub-like to cater to the younger crowd with their flavored sojus and such. It was cute but imo not worth the cash. Tip: check out Shin Chon instead for a more restaurant feel albiet a bit more pricey. Overall, 3 stars for food & service, minus 1 for gray meats.

This place is funky, loud, and BUSY. This is as close to an authentic Korean barbecue shop as you are going to get here in the area. You won’t be able to miss the shop. You’ll see a huge number of cars in the lot, even when the other stores are closed. The restaurant is brightly lit with neon, and Korean teen pop is pumped out of overhead speakers at an ear splitting volume. I know sounds terrible. It is so much fun though. This is great for a fun date, or for groups up to about 8. It’s kid friendly if your kids are maybe 10 and up. There’s a flaming hot grill in the center of the table and its noisy. If your kiddos can’t handle the atmosphere or touch the grill then this isn’t right for your family, but you’ll still love it. This is straight up Korean food, so expect bracingly hot temperatures, funky favors and unusual offerings. If you are a meat and potatoes kind of person, maybe skip this one. If you are at all adventurous, give this one a shot.

I love Honey Pig! Every time I go the food is always so good. The environment is young and trendy. The food is cooked on grills that are placed on each individual table. They have a big menu, so there is something for everyone. You can order an entrée, or pick a meat for them to cook on the grill at your table. On top of what you order, they bring you all kinds of small plates to share around your table. I love the bulgogi the best. They also have really good peach bubble tea. The only downsides to this restaurant are that it’s kind of expensive for how much you end up getting, and that anything you bring into the restaurant will smell like the food when you leave. I mean really smell strong for days and days. I recommend leaving coats in the car when eating here.

I was here with a group of friends after a day long excursion to DC to see the annual cherry blossoms. Such a perfect day and Honey Pig was the icing on the cake! We came in at 9pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty packed. Wait time was about 20min but we browsed the menu preparing for the delectable delights that awaited us. The appeitzers(pickled sweet potatoe) and salad(lettuce and vinegrette) seemed to be sitting out awhile but tasted semi-fresh. We ordered bulgogi, spicy pork, spare ribs, pork belly, and brisket. All the meats we’re generous and more than enough for the 4 of us. The bulgogi was especially tender and flavorful. Overall Honey Pig really hit the spot and Ill be back for more.

If it’s late night and you need your Korean food fix, this is the place as they’re open late. Knowing this, also expect loud music and loud young people. Your bonchon will come out pretty much right as you sit down, so know that it’s been sitting around waiting for you. Overall the food is good and this business setup works quite well. But if you’re looking for a more quiet place with a bit more quality, you’ll want to check out another Korean restaurant that probably won’t be open late night.

I went here last week for what I thought was my first Korean BBQ experience(apparently my dad made Korean ribs often while I was growing up, but I had no clue until after my visit to Honey Pig lol). We went around lunch time so it wasn’t too crowded. It was pretty awesome! They grill the food in front of you so you can eat it straight off the grill. We ordered the Korean ribs as well as the spicy pork belly. I ordered the spicy pork belly, but liked the Korean ribs more, but my boyfriend seemed to like the spicy pork belly more than the Korean ribs. We also ordered dumplings which were amazing! It also came with a dipping sauce and we ordered rice with our meal too. For drinks, I ordered one of their speciality cocktails(yum!) and my boyfriend ordered a standard domestic beer. Our server was incredibly friendly and had a ton of good suggestions! Overall, Honey Pig was okay. Food was good, but apparently is a bit overpriced compared to other places(according to my boyfriend). Also, a lot of Korean BBQ places seem to be all you can eat and this one was not, so I would like to try an all you can eat place at some point in the future. Honey Pig was good for what you get and I wouldn’t mind going back sometime to try it again!

When you compare this place to other Korean BBQ, I’d say it’s average, especially for its rather high prices. The meat is well-seasoned and juicy. The beef brisket, bulgogi, and spicy pork belly are the family favorites. Here, the staff cuts and cooks the meat for you, which I always enjoy. Around Sunday lunch time here, being seated was easy, and service was quick and attentive. If you’re familiar with the Honey Pig franchise, I’d say this one was a 4 – 5 star relative to other Honey Pig’s. I found that the serving portions of meat was more generous. Plus, the service was really quick and attentive, promptly attending to the meat and refilling sides. If you’re looking for a place to impressive, it’s a 3. But if you’re looking for an easy go-to place to satisfy those frequent Korean BBQ cravings, this is the place to go. I have plenty of family and friends who come to Honey Pig pretty often, and they get excited to go every time.

Love this place, been going here for a while. They have no frills delicious Korean BBQ, which is just what we like. Over the years the food here has varied in quality and flavor, but lately they seem to have gotten it just the way we like it. The marinated meats have more flavor now than they used to, and the portion sizes are good. They have the basic soups and side dishes to go with the BBQ, the default being tofu soup with steamed eggs and an assortment of four sides plus salad. The sides change week to week, and I never complain that there are only four… did I mention no frills? We come here for the meat anyway! Service has also been pretty decent to very fast and friendly. For a while it was the older Korean ladies who really knew what they were doing. Then they got some younger kids who probably grew up in America and have less time living in Korea than me(as an American) and really didn’t get how to serve the meal. But the latest staff they have now are doing a really great job. Good for first timers or full-blooded Korean, there is about an even mix of both any time you go. And they have lunch specials. So great food, good place to take a friend, family or small group, with lots of friendly people, check it out!

Came here cause I got a groupon. It was $ 18 for $ 30 dollars worth of food. So I decided to give it a try. Pros: 1. Seat you pretty quickly. 2. Plenty of seating 3. Plenty of food options Cons 1. The staff did not go out of their way to be courteous. 2. They barely feed you. 3. It seems like they want to get you in and out really quick. I want to try other places in the area. I would come back but this place is not my first choice.

The location actually has the woman features in the logo and advertisement. She does exist! It’s more open and less Smokey than the other locations. Food is like the other locations but they do not prepare it at your table. They cook it elsewhere. Then bring it to you. I don’t like this.

Every time we visit family in Maryland, my cousin is always asking us to go eat at Honey Pig and we finally decided to come through. We had a party of 8 and were luckily seated immediately. Since I was the most experienced in Korean BBQ dining in my family, I was in charge of ordering. I ordered two orders of the following: kalbi, bulgogi, pork belly, spicy pork; one order of pork rib, bibimbap and soondubu jjigae(seafood tofu soup). Overall, every single meat were marinated well and very flavorful. My favorite is usually the kalbi and theirs did not disappoint. Other kbbq spots usually have bland pork belly but this was not the case here. My favorite thing about this spot is their sauce. Every single person received their own little sauce plate and I honestly couldn’t stop dipping any of my meats in it. The banchan was mediocre; they gave us less than what I’m used to at other places but we did have a lot of food already so I won’t complain too much about that. It took them some time to get our table ready with the grill plates and get the banchan and meats but once they finally got started, they were quick in service. They pretty much cooked everything for us. They had two grill plates on our table and they even cooked the rest of our meats on another table. I guess this was to help expedite the process since we had a huge order. The restaurant looks like a dive(in a good way) and just one big open space with metal tables and chairs, not typical of the Korean BBQ spots I’ve been to in NY/NJ. They blasted KPop music and music videos on the tvs. It seems like a lot of college kids come here especially late night so it’s pretty loud and rowdy. 3.75÷5

I had been waiting to try this place out for over 2 years after seeing it televised. When I spotted a deal on Groupon, I knew it was time for me to go. The atmosphere was really nice and upbeat with the music from Korean Pop videos playing throughout. My beau kept asking me why I was smiling so much. It just put me in a happy mood I love hot food and hot-off-the-grill is perfect for me. I ordered Bulgogi, a Mango Bubble Tea, and beau ordered the Pork Rib with a sprite. The bulgogi was cooked first so all the sweetness was left on the grill and the pork ended up sweet too, which wasn’t very pleasant. It was very tender and sweet. I did remember why I’m not a Bulgogi fan and pairing it with Bachman made it better. My bubble tea was missing a smooth element, maybe milk or soy. It didn’t taste like the ones I’ve previously had from other establishments. Beau’s sprite came from a can and he had to ask for a glass of ice(okaaa) They skimmed on the Banchan(sides) and I wondered why so little. It worked out for us because beau didn’t really like them. I had fun pairing them with the meat but it might not be for someone with less food knowledge than myself. I enjoyed the Egg and Hot n Sour(I think) soups Once I explained to our waitress it was our first time, she tried to be more accom-modating by smiling and answering our questions, although I felt as if she should have inianated the conversation and explained more without me inquiring. I’ll chalk that up to being a busy Friday night. The next time I go, Bulgogi won’t be ordered and it will be during the week. I’m not passing up this place just yet
