Food is really quite decent. All authentic Korean food. Bbq is a good option. Plenty of seats and they are all 4-tops or larger. The booths in the back seat 6 or more. The staff should probably hire an extra server since service is slow even on quiet lunch hours, but they are all very kind and courteous and attentive as they can. Try their lunch specials!

They have 2 same menus with different prices! Hide one of the menu and check the bill when it comes out that’s what I did and I caught them. They told me the menu was not updated and took 10.00 off my bill. They are known for doing dirty

Very good authentic korean restaurant. I can’t speak for the bbq but the traditional korean dishes I had were yummy. I had the kal-bi-albacore-jjim and fish egg soup.

This place is very good. It’s family owned and it’s clear the Owners care about this place. They have both table top Korean bbq and shabu shabu so plenty for everyone.

The service is good and the food is even better. The quality of the meat is really good, and it’s never crowded when I’ve been here.

The food is a-okay. They changed this place so many times that I don’t know what to think of it.

I got their large sashimi combination and it was pretty good. I was craving sashimi so badly and my go-to place was under construction, so my family and I ended up at this place. I was pleasantly surprised with the food we got because when we walked in the huge restaurant, it was basically empty. So I was expecting the worst. The service was decent and they were attentive to our needs. The sashimi was good and the combination came with a lot of extra stuff. It came with a fish stew, two Korean pancakes, pan fried fish, delicious Korean side dishes, eggs, and a creamy sweet corn casserole. All this was only 100 $. I thought the price was decent for the amount of food we got. We couldn’t even touch the fish stew and there were still some sashimi left at the end of our meal. I would say the large platter would be perfect for 4 people. Got to get my raw fish craving satisfied from here:)

Bad service and grills boil meat instead of grilling…:(we ordered 10 servings of their most expensive cut of meat and that only had 6… this was a Saturday night. Also ordered cold Korean noodles and they ran out of noodles and so half of us got different noodles/all of us got very tiny portions. What kind of restaurant runs out of food on a Saturday night? They weren’t even busy!

What’s not to like about this restaurant? They use top quality meat(same supplier as Shin Chon?), have an attentive and friendly waitstaff, and serve the most varied banchan in the area! Definitely one of the better options for Korean food in Ellicott City.

Somewhat special items but average tasting Korean food in Ellicott city. More like a Japanese place. The grill is on the fire, not on the pan as some other korean places. It has shabu shabu, the Japanese hot pot and it has a lot of sushi. I had their stone bowl rice and shabu shabu. The stone bowl is quite standard and the hor pot is a little bit on the bland side. I came back for bbq another time. The meat donot have much floavor and I am not impressed.

1 — Shin Chon 2 — Yet Nahl 3 — Mirocjo This is how I rank my Ellicott City korean restaurants. This place usually has less of a wait but the food/service definitely will show you why. Make reservations and go to Shin Chon!

Changed management recently. Whenever these changes occur take advantage during their beginning phase — service is best at that time. Thank you for hosting my dad’s funeral dinner. We were referred to another location but my dad’s pastor circle insisted using them since they recently changed management. I guess pastors know where to dine due to various events: p There are various options so be sure to inquire on the differences. I wish I can help with that part but I was not myself when I was helping my mom plan this«event». But they offered select dishes for each group menu. Example: mom opt for either a $ 20-$ 25 per person buffet style then she picked what was available to choose from like bulgogi, marinated squid, that weird pork slices of stuff with some kind of dippings, japchae, various kimchi, some funky fish, etc. you get the deal. They also offered complimentary sodas but after a certain amount you will have to pay so expect that. We kept ordering since we wished for everyone to enjoy the gathering due to my dad’s passing. Anywho, expect that detour. Not a bad thing but just expect peeps to be thirsty during this foodie event. BTW they continually brought the ice water pitchers and the hot barley tea pitchers throughout the dinner. The owner/host lady checked on us regularly and the mainly Korean-speaking staff was helpful and kept the buffet area in check. The private group dinner area was barely wheelchair accessible which makes this truly a Korean restaurant. We managed to get mom in and out though so I didn’t hurt anyone. But if you have any«normal» wheelchair-sized peeps you won’t fit through the private group dinner area. My mom is very petite and uses the smallest wheelchair(I think it is for teenagers/young adults) so we rolled in there just fine. I know it’s TMI but I believe this may be useful for future Unilocalers. Oh and park at the very front of the shopping area if you are disabled or on a wheelchair. Don’t park at the bottom of this shopping center or you’ll be pissed. Nothing but stairs if you’d like to eat at Mirocjo. So again park at the very front. You’ll understand when you get there. No food porn and I’m sure you’ll understand. Overall I would recommend their buffet but please be sure to inquire about the various priced per person buffet group dinner and maybe you could receive a special per person price if you bring enough individuals for your gathering.

Sometime recently, Mirocjo changed ownership. It’s a shame that they kept the same name as Mirocjo’s poor reputation is baggage that may prevent people from checking it out. But after coming here for lunch the other day, all I have to say is that you guys should check it out! Mirocjo has changed and changed for the better! If you’ve come here in the past, you’ll notice that the main dining area is completely different from before. It’s a lot more«walled off» and private than before. Some parts, like the sushi bar, still looks the same… but most of the restaurant is unrecognizable from its former self. The food here is pretty good too, though a little on the pricier side of things. If you want a cheap lunch, this is not the place(with one exception described below). That being said, the food was very good. The banchan was solid. I especially liked the bean sprout salad as they spiced it up with a little wasabi, something that I haven’t seen done with that dish before. Not bad. I ordered the Jaeyook box, a lunch combo that comes out Bento Box style. It’s pretty large too! It had salad, various Korean-style fried veggies, japchae(a noodle dish), 3 California roll pieces, rice, spicy pork, and miso soup. All for $ 10. The California roll was solid. Nothing too special but still better than some actual sushi restaurant’s California roll(I’m looking at you Yama Sushi in Bmore). The pork was well seasoned and cooked perfectly– it was neither mushy or overcooked and dry. The miso soup, though, was a little watered down. And the japchae, while very good, was a little disappointing considering they already gave us japchae as part of our banchan. If you are on a budget and like spicy foods though, the Jjamppong(noodles in spicy seafood soup) is really good and flavorful. and around $ 6. Not bad at all. Highly recommended. However, overall, the prices here tend to be on the higher side. Overall, it’s a good start for the born-again Miracjo. Hopefully the word will get out and bring this place some more people – their food deserves it.

THISPLACEISUNDERNEWMANAGEMENT! Okay. I know that this place has been around forever. I know that it has harbored a pretty mediocre reputation because it really wasn’t good at all in the past. Well. That has all changed. For the better. I came here on a whim with a few friends the other day and was delightfully surprised at the change in quality of the food. Apparently, Mirocjo is under new management, and they’ve shaken things up. The interior décor has been altered slightly in favor of private tables that have walls around them to give a more intimate feel. I do like the new layout even if it’s not as open as it was before. But that’s all secondary stuff. Onto the food. We decided to go all out and order the Korean BBQ here. The meat was pretty expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for Korean BBQ. It was about $ 20-$ 30 per order. We got 3 orders of Galbi(the heavily marinated one and the mildly marinated one), along with the Sahm gyup sahl(pork belly). The portions were generous and the meat was extremely high quality. The sahm gyup sahl was thick cut, just the way it should be, and the marbling of the Galbi was amazing! Also, the marination for the Galbi was just right. I’m sorry, but this place does a better job than Honey Pig and Shin Chon. Seriously. There is a distinct difference between this place and some of the other Korean BBQ places in Ellicott City, and this restaurant takes the cake. I know it’s hard to believe, but try it out and see. Just so you know, I’ve lived in Southern California/LA where Korean BBQ is ubiquitous, and none of those places were even as good as the BBQ they had here. Haven’t been to Korea in a while, so I can’t give a comparison there though. However, the service was just okay, typical for a Korean restaurant. Don’t expect the waitresses to be too attentive. It took a while to get our check even when we pushed that waitress button on the table like 3 times. Still a 5 star review though. So, if you’re in the mood for some Korean BBQ, ditch Honey Pig and Shin Chon and try this place out!

Mirocjo changed my mind about Korean food! I had thought it was all smelly kimchi, due to a bad experience a few years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised by a number of dishes here. Unfortunately I don’t know the Korean words for many of them, but I’ll describe as best I can: Side Dishes: When you’re seated and order, the first thing that comes out is a bevy of tiny dishes, each containing a few bites of an interesting side dish. On several visits, I’ve rarely seen repeats except for some kind of kimchi, which is spicy and sour but enjoyably so. Other offerings: rolled, sliced omelet, preserved quail eggs, fried tofu, seaweed salad and lots that escape my memory. They will bring seconds and even thirds if you request them, though we got a slight scolding from a waitress once(she wanted to make sure we would eat it all, and we complied happily.) Appetizers: The main one that stands out is a seafood«pancake» with scallion, squid, shrimp and scallops. It’s crispy and delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. Soup: I’ve had two kinds of soup here. One was a spicy tofu, and the other a seafood chowder. Both were delicious. They also serve miso with many entrees, and it’s pretty standard. Entrees: Hands down, my favorite is bebimbap(«stir rice,») which comes in a piping hot crock: rice, meat or seafood, vegetables and a fried egg. As the name implies, it’s meant to be stirred vigorously into a kind of risotto-meets-paella dish. Absolutely delicious, and stays hot the whole time thanks to the crock! I’ve also had a couple of different tofu and seafood curry dishes, but no meat yet. The barbeque experience looks like fun. Drinks: The first couple of times we visited, we ordered soju, a sweet rice wine which was a delicious compliment to the spicy food. My Korean friend showed us how to pour it(the youngest pours for the others, using both hands.) The last time they were under new management and no longer served alcohol, but we zipped over to Jason’s and picked up a bottle, which was an even cheaper option. Score! Value: For one person, an entrée, shared appetizer and side dishes come to around $ 15, and everything is delicious and fresh. How can you beat that?! Atmosphere: This is the only reason they don’t get four stars(and it might not even be a very good reason, but I’m stubborn like that.) It’s a little sketchy, entering and being seated: usually groups of people clustered around and no clear procedure to follow. The strip mall in which it’s located is a major dive. Décor is very plain. Service is spotty, and it would be really REALLY nice to have a server who spoke English fluently enough to answer questions — so far I haven’t been brave enough to go without my Korean guide!

This has to be THEWORST Korean BBQ restaurant(NY, NJ, VA, MD, DC combined) I have ever dined. 1) Food not fresh – Ordered Seng galbi(not marinated) – the beef was not fresh at all! 2) The waitress came back only once after she initially laid the meat. We had to cook the meat ourselves the entire time. Why would I pay $$ to eat if I have to cook myself? Also, what’s the point of having the bell if you’re going to come 5 minutes later? 3) Overpriced for what you get — terrible food, horrendous service. Don’t waste your hard earned money here. Visit a different establishment.

Went tonight with their re-opening under new management. Suffice to say the food was horrible. I love Korean food, and for the most part, Korean restaurants in this area are pretty good. This is not one of those places. Family ordered dduk bokki and soon dubu. The dduk had the worst spices and the dduk itself was hard with no flavor. The soon dubu was just water, dubu, and a seafood mix. No real spices, no real taste. We were charged $ 1 for the rice that normally comes with soon dubu. We also asked for a little more ban chan, and they wanted to charge for that too. I can understand if we were being unreasonable, but the same amount of ban chan given to one patron was given to us… there were 4 of us, and they still wouldn’t give us extra. Food was crap. Service was crap. And the nickel and dime crap is something I’ve never experienced at a Korean restaurant. This place is horrible. Do not go. By the completely empty restaurant at 9:30pm on a Saturday night, others have known to say away for a while too.

I have to disagree with the other reviewers before me. The service wasn’t that great but the food was delicious and the panchan here is terrific. We ordered BBQ special and I ate till I thought I would explode. Go here if you’re in the area but don’t expect the best service.

This was a so so place for Korean. We had our $ 25 gift certificate that we got for $ 2 so considering we didn’t pay full price I was a good deal. It is located in a strip mall of businesses on the 2nd level. The place is okay for décor and we were the only ones there on a Saturday afternoon which was weird. But that served to our advantage since we had a toddler. The food came out quick but then the waitress disappeared. I was using my kleenex tissue pack since we ran out of napkins. lol The little side dishes were plentiful and delicious. I thought the bulgolgi was lacking and the rice was not warm. The korean seafood pancake was huge and the tastiest thing there. We also had jap-chae which was average. They used the thinner clear vermicelli noodles for the dish but I prefer the thicker potato starch ones. The seafood tofu chigae was mild and watered down to my husband who prefers it a little more flavorful. Overall, I wouldn’t eat here if I had to pay full price. But compared to the Korean restaurants in NYC, this doesn’t even compare…
