Absolutely wonderful. Very clean, friendly staff with prompt service. We own a restaurant and we notice everything. We will definitely be back!!!

Had lunch with a client, we both love the Tavern and the great selection of beers. Club sandwich was outstanding. Sat at the bar and service was great. The price was very reasonable.

Really enjoyed this place. Good atmosphere, nice people and cool building. Great hamburger!

This is one of the most popular restaurants in town. Great atmosphere, friendly wait people and generally good food, however, they really have some delivery problems. We ate there for lunch (9 adults and kids) and it was packed. It took quite a while to order and the we waited an hour for our food. They have too many tables for the small kitchen.
We went back a couple of nights ago. (Weeknight) the service was faster but they really screwed up my meal. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato and onions. Their burgers are usually excellent. Wife order the same and we made sure to ask to toast the buns. When the waitress brought the burgers, the buns weren’t toasted (no biggie) and mine was missing mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and onions. The burger was well done instead of medium. I asked the waitress about the lettuce, tomatoes and onions and she came back and told me they were out and brought me a small plate of lettuce. Later we saw burgers going out with lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
Go figure.
I did complain to our waitress and she ended up charging us less than half for both meals. We will go back but they really need to improve on their delivery.
As an aside, my wife’s burger had everything on it and was cooked perfectly.

Honestly i thought i had already wrote a review on this place. I have to say this is my favorite stop in ellijay. All the food is amazing! The wings are out of this world and the best in North GA. Their burgers are what you would find at Hard Rock. The Taco salad is unlike any i have ever had and it’s amazing.
And the atmosphere is nothing like you will ever see, the patrons and the staff make it a point to introduce you to people. You end of feeling like one of the locals while you’re in this place. Everyone is so friendly and can tell every time you sit down.
All i have i have to say, i have ate here over 30 times. That should be enough said in it’s self!

Great service and great food. I loved the black bean burger and my husband enjoyed the south of the border burger. He also really liked their potato salad.

First off this place is small. The tables are high tops and bar seating with a very small patio outside that holds 5 tables and cramped together.
If you have a baby or small child expect to sit outside as the tables are too tall for a highchair and the kid would be stuck staring at the underside of your table or at your crotch.
We sat out on the patio since we have a 6 month old. We never were asked if we wanted a high chair. Found out it was because the 2 they have were already being used at 2 tables also on the patio.
It took about 10 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order. We planned on apps too but she got our drink order and bolted. When drinks came we did order apps and our food. After apps came and we finished them we found out my daughters order was removed since they ran out of catfish. She reordered her meal.
The food was mediocre at best. Chicken fingers were dry even with dipping sauce and fries were coated in some breading or something. My husbands burger was actually cooked as requested but tasted just ok for flavor.
We were just hoping for more considering the previous reviews.

Bad service. If you get ignored twice by one waitress and then again by a male server them I can’t say I want to come back. My daughter walked in for a menu and still no service.
The server cleaned s table by us but did not say a word to us. Maybe a hello???
Food is typical bar pub like food. It’s a local watering hole for the most part.
I give two stars cause the food was fair in the past but service is unacceptable

Decent beer selection, but the food is fair at best. I had a burger and it was cooked to death. The fries were exactly the opposite, barely cooked through. We went around 4 pm so it wasn’t very busy — for 2 burgers with fries and 2 beers it was almost $ 40 before tip. Not worth it!

We stopped here on our way through town and were pleasantly surprised. The food is really good and the ambiance is quite nice! We had the grilled portabella sandwich and the mushroom Swiss burger. The loaded potato salad and French fries were both well done. We would definitely eat here again!

Been here twice and we’re big fans. The servers are always extremely friendly and helpful. Mixed drinks (old fashioned) are always well made and they have a great draft selection from Blue Ridge breweries, ATL breweries including Whabbit Wheat from Red Hare which is amazing and the big boy standard beers. Food is good but I appreciate the fact that there are no nachos on the menu but they made some for me upon asking, even if it’s easy to make the fact they would do it without batting an eye speaks volume on their costumer service. Whenever we look to eat out in Ellijay River Street Tavern is the first place we turn for great atmosphere and good food.

GREAT burgers! Even better with the locally-​sourced options! All of the sides are tasty, especially the loaded potato salad! Owner and staff are kind and great to talk to! Ask about the dollar bills in the ceiling, too. Great stop for any trip.

This place was pretty good, but mainly because the staff is very welcoming. The food was nothing special and the beer options were ok. No major complaints, just nothing special.

Great tavern. Our bartender Alicia was excellent. She let us sample the different beers before we decided what to order. The organic burgers are worth the $ 3 upgraded price. I recommend the Tavern burger. Overall staff & food is excellent.

This place is awesome!!! Delicious food and fantastic service! We were so surprised to find this hidden treasure.

Great service, good food and a friendly atmosphere make this place a fantastic place to stop in for a bite during your visit to Ellijay. I had the Tavern Bear Creek Burger. It’s the only one that they will cook to order (the other burgers are all cooked medium well to well). My burger was great and I had a Greek salad on the side that was delicious as well. There was a woman next to me having the chicken tenders and they looked tasty too. The owner and his wife both stopped by our table to great us and recommend things for us to do while we were in town for the weekend. I get the impression like the they treat all of their patrons like family friends. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance.

Great atmosphere and food was even better! Walking through we looked to see what everyone was having. The place was busy so obviously good. It looked like most people were having hamburgers or wings. But we saw a few people that had salads that looks really delicious. We ended up settling on hamburgers and it was a great choice. They were out of this world! The french fries were really really good. There wasn’t live music when we were there but we heard that the owners have great singers come in. Also family friendly.

Slow-soggy-floppy…I have eaten here once before and was pleased, however this time not so much. Saturday night we expected to be busy and seeing no tables open inside we took a table on the patio. A waiter came out to serve the other table on the patio twice without acknowledging our table. We had to ask for menus, ask to order drinks that took 15 minutes (bottled beer). our server finally took our order, came back out to re read us our order and, and then vanished. Once our food finally came my house chips were so soggy they were floppy-​not a word I ever thought I’d use to describe chips. Burgers had sat so long the bun and lettuce was soggy, bacon wasn’t cooked thoroughly. Overall less than mediocre food that was not worth the wait. The two stars were earned by the great live music and pleasant bartenders (when you could make it to the bar).

After an afternoon of whitewater rafting, my friends and i were in need of food and cocktails. Knowing we couldn’t get a proper drink anywhere near the rafting company, I took to my trusty Unilocal app to find something in Ellijay. We chose RST based on the great reviews.
We found it pretty easily and were greeted and told we could sit on the patio. We had a great server who happily took our many, many drink orders and got us situated the with food.
We started with an order of fried pickles and cheese sticks. Actually, we had ordered something else besides cheese sticks, but the kitchen didn’t tell us until about 15 minutes after we ordered so the cheese sticks were a last minute add. Not really a big deal. We just wanted something quick to put in our bellies as we hadn’t eaten in hours and had started drinking.
The fried pickles were pretty good. The cheese sticks were nothing special, but then again are they ever?
I think we all ordered some sort of burger. Personally, I had the patty melt and it was really good. My companions seemed to enjoy their food as well. I didn’t hear anyone complain. Oh and we tried an order of sweet jalapeño chicken wings. Those were delicious and I am regretting we didn’t order more as an appetizer.
Our drink orders were varied. We had cocktails and beer. I’m not a beer drinker, but they seemed to have a decent menu.
Penny was our server and she was great. I’m sure it’s no treat serving a bunch of hungry and demanding people, but she did so with a smile on her face.

Loved this place! I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was. It’s a tavern but there is no smoking and the food is great. I had the Mahi Ruben and my husband had the wings. They were great!
