Return Engagement

I put my original wedding dress on consignment at Return Engagement after I found a different dress I liked better. I had never put anything on consignment before, let alone a brand new wedding dress with the tags still attached, so I felt very anxious. Luckily, Bridget thoroughly explained the process to me and made the whole experience as painless as possible. In a nutshell, if your dress sells, you make back half of the amount for which it was appraised. The shop – incidentally, the shop itself is beautiful, well-​appointed, and clean – takes the other half. Simple.
I came back a week later to buy a veil and ended up chatting with Bridget for about a half hour after she had rung up my purchase. What a sweet, kind, and super funny lady she is! This shop is a wonderful little gem and I’d gladly send fellow brides here for any last minute accessories or even a dress.

I started my bridal dress journey going to this store first thing when they opened. I was not expecting much being a plus sized girl going into a resale shop for a wedding dress. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good selection of dresses including Alfred Angelo, David’s Bridal, and other big name bridal designers.
The owner, Judy, was so extremely helpful, never pushy, and pretty much left my sister and I to our own doings unless we needed her. She was knowledgeable, and had great insight on alteration ideas, and just all around pleasant.
While I found a few dresses I loved, I didn’t want to limit myself to the first and only store, so I went down the road to David’s Bridal. Talk about complete opposites! After that fiasco, I promptly went back to see Judy and bought the dress of my dreams! Best part is that the dresses sell for about ½ of retail, so I was able to not only stick to, but come in under my budget for my dress.
I would recommend Return Engagement to anyone looking for a wedding dress, mother of the bride dress, or other formal dress (She has a basement full of bridesmaid/​prom, Jr. Bridesmaid & Flower girl dresses.)
