Salon Orlin

I went in to the salon to bleach my hair and Orlin bleached my hair 2 times. The first time was not bad, but the second time i lost more then 50% of my hair. The second round of bleach stayed in for 45 min (he Said it would stop working after 30 min and he was working on another client who was also bleaching their hair). My hair is pretty long and about 7 years old. I had breakage from the top of my head all the way down to my lower back. While blow drying chunks and chunks off hair came out literally /​: My hair now feels thin and ruined. I also paid $ 150. I know bleaching is bad but this shouldn’t of happened by a professional. He put in a lot of effort and tried his best. I was there for 8 hours and he washed and blow dried hair many times. He always does a good job, however this was my most terrifying hair experience.

I’m lucky to have sweet Salon Orlin nearby! Over the last 3 years I’ve been looking for someone to correctly handle my curly hair. Mel’s got it! She has a great sense for style, understands taste, while paying attention to detail. Style, taste, detail — the trifecta for my perfect cut. My wife chimed as soon as I got home, «I think that’s the best cut you’ve had since I’ve known you!» Enough said.

I wrote an honest review of a haircut I recently received at Salon Orlin and felt I needed to post the exact private response from the person that seems to be the owner «Orlin-​Craig R»:

I cannot fathom any well-​run business responding this way to a customer, but then when I dive further into their other responses, it’s obvious this «biker bar» mentality is prevalent. I STRONGLY suggest not wasting your money here and going to a real salon, as I can’t imagine this place will stay in business like this.
As for «Craig R» — may I suggest you spend more time using the reviews you receive to change and improve your salon/​service, instead of name-​calling and intimidating? Run your business like a business person, not a thug.

I just had my first color with OJ last week, I was already anticipating a wonderful service because he had been highly recommended to me from a relative but the service far exceeded my anticipation and hopes. I had originally just wanted my roots touched up as I have brown hair and wasn’t looking for a change, OJ touched up my roots as well as adjusted the shade of brown ever so slightly that it gave my hair such a richer warmer shade. He is a color genius! The products he uses, his creative talent at mixing colors and the style were all amazing and I am hooked! There’s also great music playing and the atmosphere in the salon is welcoming that you will not want to leave.

So glad that I found this salon! The staff is extremely talented, fun and friendly. I always have the best time when I’m there. OJ is a color genius, and it lasts longer than any other place I have been to. The inviting surroundings allow you to truly relax and enjoy your experience. If you want high-​end service in a warm and inviting atmosphere, this is the place for you.

I purchased a groupon, and they required a 20% tip on the non-​discounted amount of the service in advance. This was NOT mentioned in their groupon. 20% is high, their full amount is inflated, and basically I felt like this was blackmail in order to keep my appointment (which I had planned way in advance). Kelly did my hair and she was good so I don’t mind so much. But I was supposed to see the owner of the salon and, without any warning, I was handed off to Kelly. I think their business practices are not very professional. I think the owner of this salon might want to take an on-​line course on either business ethics or keeping customers. I won’t be going back.

I really don’t have one bad thing to say about this place. Very cute salon and friendly staff. Kelly did my hair and she is absolutely amazing. I had my doubts but I’m more than happy with her work. I’d definitely recommend this place. I had the keratin treatment done and it was amazing. I’m in love with my hair.

I just had my first color/​cut with Orlin at Salon Orlin. I am so happy! The color is amazing and this guy knows how to cut hair. He is also fun and the salon atmosphere is great. He is my new go to boy, and I am very picky regarding my hair.

I have know OJ since he was in high school. He is not your typical chain store salon. If you are looking for a boring experience with crappy customer service, inexperienced stylist and low end products this is not the salon for you.
OJ has brought his personality into his business. I am a father who brings my children to the salon every time. With the Jukebox, and atmosphere in the salon I know they enjoy themselves as much as I do. Also, he offeres amazing parties for our little princesses.
He is passionate about providing the best service your are going to get anywhere and you will get the best products on the market. If you want a chain store color and don’t care what your finished product is he is not the one for you.
Since he started his business he is growing and with growth there are growing pains. Technical problems happen, and he answered those problems with a new POS system to make things easier on the customer.
This is a salon not a library so if you want to get your hair done while having a good time with good people this is the place for you. This is a great place with great people.
I recommend Salon Orlin to everyone who enjoys life and the experiences that come from life. Great Job OJ keep up the great work and do not change who you are or what you are becoming for anyone!

OJ! If you don’t know, now you know. He’s the man when it comes to hair color and style. I’ve been to many salons and Salon Orlin is my pick now and forever. Unbeatable value and customer satisfaction is #1. Not to mention, THIS SALON IS FUN! I wish I had the option to bring my bridal party here! Good vibes, fun times… book an appointment today, unless you’re not «fun». Then this salon is NOT for you!

I am ecstatic I found O.J. and Salon Orlin. First and foremost, O.J. is nothing short of amazing with color. The salon itself has a very upbeat atmosphere and friendly staff. And how many Salons do you know of that can boast their own disco ball and juke box? Prices are definitely reasonable. I can’t say enough about Salon Orlin.

Salon Orlin is a salon that you deserve to experience at least once… but if you are like me, you will soon be back for more! From the open, creative staff, to the fun ‘place to be’ atmosphere, you will love how you look and feel once OJ (owner) and his staff get their hands on your hair. Stylists are open to direction and take it well; but, personally I prefer to give a general thought or idea to them and then let them get creative with it. Especially with color… I have never been disappointed with the color combination’s OJ has come up with for me. This former «little old lady» hair shop has been completely renovated since OJ acquired the property with new stations, equipment, décor and even features a juke box and disco ball so you can rock out while getting a hair overhaul. Definitely put this salon on your ‘to do’ list!
