What a awesome experience all the stylist here are so friendly. I was greeted and offered a drink and my stylist Faith did a great job I got a cut and color and she even showed me different ways to style my cut. You won’t go wrong going here.

I searched for someone who knew how to cut curly hair and found Nora! She knows curly hair and cuts my curly hair with great expertise. I love my stylist, the salon is great, and they have a nice variety for products. I recommend the salon and specifically Nora if your hair is curly. I receive lots of compliments and always credit Nora.

I’m really glad I found this little gem! I was looking for a place to fit me into their books with only one day notice to get my hair colored. ‘Why’ you ask? I’m impulsive. Anyways, they got me an appointment with Jackie and she is wonderful! We discussed hair colors and she gave me this beautiful dark cherry hair. My hair is naturally very dark brown and it is thick, curly/​wavy and coarse. After my hair color, she cut it exactly how I asked and thinned it out. Jackie my hair stylist, and all the other staff were incredibly welcoming.
The shop itself is also worth its own little review. Its on the second floor of a building, so a little hard to spot if you’re not looking carefully. It is bright and open with tons of natural light so you don’t walk out looking different than what you see in the mirrors. It has the cutest décor also. I really loved the atmosphere.

I had my first appointment at effigy, and I think I’m a permanent customer. Rita had great suggestions because I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted. My boyfriend even noticed the cut, which is unusual for him. My hair feels much healthier.

Update time! I don’t think Elena works here anymore, but she cut my hair a few times, and it was always perfect. I recently went to Jackie because I started coloring my hair again. She explains everything well and really listens to you. Her balayage work is spot on. It was really awkward to ask (Sorry, Jackie!), but she was also cool about letting me come in a couple of days after getting my hair colored to get the cooler color I realized I wanted once I saw the original, warmer results. Giving a star back for Jackie’s awesomeness.

ASK FOR MALLORY. She’s excellent. She always gives me a great cut and takes her time getting everything just right. She is pleasant to chat with, but also will let you sit in peace if you’re not in the mood to talk. Felt very listened to when telling her what I wanted.

I went to Effigy Salon today for the first time and I absolutely love it! Even when I called to schedule and spoke with Frank, he was so nice on the phone!

Abi did my hair and did an awesome job! She’s so funny and does a great job! Every single person I spoke with was super cool and professional!

I love this salon! I’ve been going here for five years, and have been happy with every haircut! Fun atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Jackie did such a great job with my balayage highlights! I was so nervous coming in. In the past I’ve had such a horrible coloring experience; trying to keep my brunette-​ness while lightening up! She is so talented and so sweet. Anyone would be lucky to have her do your hair! I can’t speak more highly about my experience. DEF going back and bringing my friends!

My wife (and little ones) have been going here now for over a year and a half and have to say Alyssa is fantastic. She’s very personable, genuinely interested and cares what you’re about, and of course want in a haircut. You’ll find yourself relaxing, laughing, chatting and next thing you know will leave with a great haircut thanks to her (and the other friendly folks there)!

Curly hair? See Mallory! She took time to show me how to style my hair. Gave me a super cute cut. All the girls that work here are so nice! Definitely keeping Mallory.

I’m actually changing my rating to this place from 5 starts to 3. While I had a great experience there, I’ve tried calling 3 times to schedule another appointment and each time, I got a voice mail during business hours. The first time, someone did call me back to call them back. I tried 2 other times and kept getting voice mail. I’m done with this place, which is a shame because it’s reasonable and I had a great experience with Mallory. But my time is valuable and it’s ridiculous I can’t even schedule an appointment without calling more than 3 times.

I’m a little late in my review because I’ve been mad at them this long.
But almost two months ago I got deep conditioning, hair cut, and blow dry. Went in with high expectations cause my friend got a good cut from here and Unilocal had good reviews. Haircut was okay, nothing special. But was some what grossed out when the hair brush she used to blow dry my hair with had tons of blonde hair stands in it and of course my hair is black. Ewww. Then the nail in the coffin was after the first time I washed my hair I felt how dry it felt. Whatever treatment they did to deep condition actually totally dried my hair out. My hair looks more damaged now then it did before my haircut.
WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK!!!

Friendly trendy place, that is extremely accommodating and hospitable. For religious reasons I cannot show my hair to men while outside, so Effigy has a room downstairs where they can do hair privately. The staff was super friendly and non-​judgemental about that.
The salon is located above a restaurant, so I thought it was a nice and luxurious touch that while you are getting your hair done you can have a drink and some food while you’re sitting there. In fact, as soon as you sit down the stylist asks if you want water or anything to drink.
As for the service, I got a sombre balayage highlight. At my initial appointment the stylist accidentally added too light of a toner and I wasn’t happy with the look, so she told me to return within 1 week if I wanted to darken it– at no charge– which I ended up doing. The 2^nd time around she compensated too much and added too dark of a color. Overall it looked ok though and my hair wasn’t damaged, so I decided to stick with it.

I am so grateful to Isabel at this salon who took my call and suggested I see Mallory for a cut and color. As I told Isabel, I had been using box color and had a few inches of gray growing in, and *gasp* I was cutting my own hair. I also have scalp skin issues.
I was greeted warmly at the reception desk and offered a beverage, which was very kind.
Mallory made such a positive difference for me, made me feel at home as a new client, and gave me an incredible transformation with all-​over color, highlights, and a cut. She also gave me sound advice on how to manage my scalp issues, as years of topical steroids were very painful. If I could give Mallory and this salon 100 Unilocal stars I would! Worth every penny! Im 45 and I look younger now! I’m so happy with my results that I would gladly have paid double… I’m serious! I will be a returning client, no question.

This is a review for Friday, May 8^th. About two months ago, I had my hair cut and highlighted at another salon. I wasn’t really satisfied with my highlights. I decided to give the Effigy Salon a try. I was also due for a trim. I made an appointment with Mallory. I was running a bit late. They’ve given me a 15 minute cushion, which I thought was pretty decent.
I was greeted by the receptionist Brenda, who is really sweet. The salon is stylish and quaint. It has a good vibe. Plus, seeing other patrons smiling made me feel better about my decision.
Mallory is awesome. She’s peppy and full of energy, but also professional. She understood what I wanted done with my highlights. I love the color. She also gave me a fun trim/​cut. Thanks Mallory! :-)

Six years I’ve been coming here, five with Abbi. In those six years I’ve gotten more compliments on my hair than ever before.
If your hair just won’t behave, and you’ve tried all manner of styling tricks and products and tools … it’s probably not you. It’s probably your haircut. All that time, I thought my boring-​ass hair was just defiant … I just needed a new hairstyle. (OK, the flatiron doesn’t hurt either.)
Abbi is my girl and as long as she’s there, so am I (although I would trust any of the ladies here, honestly). I just turn myself over to her and I leave looking good. She knows me, knows my hair, we chat about kids and dogs and family while she works her magic. And she always compliments my home coloring jobs instead of pressuring me to pay $$ to have her do it, even though I know she’s a whiz at that too.
A few pro tips: Effigy is now entirely on the second floor above Flight 112, and tips are now cash only. Be prepared for a few stairs and have some cash with you.

I have curly hair so it’s always hard to find a stylist that knows curly hair. Well I read the reviews on Unilocal and was very excited to see all the great reviews. I read that Mallory was the curly hair expert so I booked my appointment ASAP. She had curly hair pretty much just like mine!
Now I’m not into hair at all, but people would die to have my hair. I don’t know much about styling, but Mallory hooked it up. She layered it very well giving me that extra oomph! Before, my hair was just long and flat. I can’t tell you how many stylist have messed up my hair and I would have to wait a year for them to mess it up again.
I’ve never had a better cut or experience than here. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Places like this could easily over-​charge customers.
I had my eyebrows done a while ago and the salon was larger, but now they moved it upstairs. It’s a little smaller, but it still has a nice trendy ambiance to it. They had a huge bowel of chocolate kisses! Mallory even got my coat for me. Overall, it’s a very down to earth vibe.
I can’t wait to go back for a blow out. Only $ 30 bucks with Mallory! All the stylist have their own prices set.
