Love this store. They go out of their way to make sure you get what you are looking for. Great staff as well. My favorite purchase has been my ukeleli… inexpensive and super fun. My son takes guitar lessons here and he loves his teacher. Overall a spectacular neighborhood store.

I sent my instrument into Luscombe Music for a pretty serious repair job. Not only did they quote a very reasonable price, they loaned me a spare instrument in the meantime for just a security deposit which was then credited toward the repair when I returned it. The loan instrument was in really good condition. Great customer service!

I just happened to pick up my trumpet from Luscombe Music after having it cleaned; it looks brand new! I purchased this instrument from them, along with my first trumpet, and they have been nothing but helpful with repairs and various questions. Also, their hours are convenient and they keep a very organized shop.

After searching the Oak Park area in vain for my daughter’s first oboe, we heard about Luscombe Music. Not only did they have a number of nice student oboes (wood ones, not plastic), the store was clean, bright and well organized. A bit out of the way, but worth the trip.
EDIT May ’08: These folks are not so great to work with. When an instrument needs repair they will keep it for more than two weeks and not offer a replacement, then they have the chutzpah to charge the full month’s rental fee.
