Fast service and amazing teriyaki chicken with rice. Better than most expensive places that have chicken teriyaki.

Always great chicken teriyaki with Lo mein. Chicken has great crust. Teriyaki sauce is always on point. The Lo mein has great chew. Sometimes it can be soft but overall great!

I got the Shrimp Terayaki and it was sooo badly seasoned. I also had the WORSTSTOMACHACHE after eating this so I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Save yourself the trouble and go to Panda Express.

Want to get the most bang for your buck and still end up full? Order the chicken teriyaki here with some white rice you can’t go wrong! After paying your order is ready in less than a minute. They move very quickly here.

Absolutely love this stand! It’s better if you can find a seat to have it in the food court. But it’s fine for take out after shopping. Beef, chicken, shrimp, white rice, fried rice, noodles whatever. It’s pretty good!

I found the store at the Queens Center Mall closed this evening. There’s a closure notice by the NYC Dept of Health & Hygiene.

I give it 4 stars cause its honestly the best chicken teryaki fast food place i been too, and i been going there for years, every time i go to the mall just the smell a lone grabs me before i wouldve gave it 5 stars but i feel like the regular portion got smaller :/and it sucks cause i guess if you want a proper amount you have to get the double meat but sometimes the double meat look/could be overloading, and i really think they should make their portion just right and stop adding only alittle bit, other than that good chicken, rice and veggies.

I been coming here for as long as I can remember. Every time I come to the mall I get hungry, from the shopping, walking and of course just knowing there is a enormous food court right under me. As I take the escalator downstairs I think about the variety of food counters I can choice from, but once I taste that free sample on a toothpick my mind is made up. Teriyaki Chicken with white rice and steamed vegetables«$ 1.00 more, you get extra Teriyaki Chicken«. The Teriyaki Chicken always hits the spot full of taste and always cooked just right, the hot sauce they provide is my preferred packaged Chinese hot sauce, it spicy yet sweet and tangy perfect blend to mix with my teriyaki chicken. You can’t think of this as Traditional Japanese Teriyaki, it’s like thinking the local Chinese takeout spot is traditional chinese food. This is Americanized teriyaki chicken, it’s almost a Queens Center Mall tradition, once you try the free sample you will be hooked!

The chicken teriyaki is delicious! Although the lady at the cash register might be a bit rude their chicken teriyaki makes up for it. Majority of the people that comes here would order their chicken teriyaki. Back then they would give you bigger portions but as they get more customers it seems like the potion just gets smaller and smaller. I love mushrooms so I ordered mine with mushrooms for $ 1 or $ 2 more and honestly didn’t tasted any mushrooms in it at all. The vegetables that are optional tastes icky and oily. You probably wouldn’t want those.

I’m not going to say this place is bad because it’s not. I sometimes come here when I’m at the mall and need to grab something to eat. However, for all you people that say that this is the best chicken teriyaki that you’ve ever had then either 1.) you need a very rude awakening or 2.) you’ve been deprived of good Japanese food. NYC has so many great restaurants and a lot of them are Japanese. So please… do yourself a favor and treat yourself to REAL Japanese food(or at least chicken teriyaki). This place has gone down the drain over the years. What used to be okay food has now changed for the worse. The portions have significantly decreased and the chicken that was once full of flavor is now… bland. I can’t get through the food without having to use hot sauce and soy sauce(and lots of it). Honestly, at the price that you pay for this, you’re better off going somewhere else and buying better quality food. This place is run by Chinese people(not that it’s a bad thing), and the cashiers are just simply rude. Like really rude. If you go to them and don’t order right away, then they just roll their eyes and stare at you impatiently.

Sarku used to be a four star but in the recent years I have noticed the meat portions have been getting smaller and to get a good portions you have to pay for double meat. The lines have improved with someone at the end bagging your items while you wait and others order, like an assembly line. Don’t get me wrong I love teryiaki, but I would rather go to a hibachi if I am not in a hurry.

It’s a mall restaurant so don’t expect too much. I mean don’t eat at a mall restaurant without expecting oil on your food. Pros: –One of the best fast food chicken teriyaki –I recommend getting the teriyaki(chicken, shrimp, etc) on rice. If you get it with noodles, it gets very greasy. –Fast — they keep you moving down the line; pretty efficient Cons: –Doesn’t accept credit cards –Food is very oily/greasy — I want you to understand that it’s a mall restaurant, please keep that in mind –Long lines due to the popularity of this place –Not the most sanitary place in the food court(look at the Sanitation Grade they have on the wall)

Best food option at Queens Center Mall food court. Decent prices for the amount of food you get. I don’t generally enjoy fast food, especially if they serve fried stuff or burgers and the food court has plenty of those options. Sarku has the longest lines and that speaks volume. Fast turn over of the food and you actually see ‘em churring the Chicken Teriyaki on an assembly line — an assembly line! Not the Teppanyaki you get at a «real» Japanese restaurant — do those even exist beyond Disney World? — but close enough. Man, you gotta love efficient money making Chinese entrepreneurs. Ha. Speedy service, hot food and doesn’t brake the bank. Rejoice, at least unlike you escape the mall and get yourself to a more decent eatery.

The sole reason I come here is for the chicken teriyaki. I usually get one order without rice(so it’s just over vegetables). The meat is very tasty!

Sarku Japan sets the bar for Chicken Teriyaki. Despite the fact that it’s run/operated by Chinese people, you will never have Chicken Teriyaki better than here at Sarku Japan. I also like to point out that Sarku Japan doesn’t accept credit cards. Like, at all. That’s probably one of my biggest peeves when it comes to eateries and yet despite all this I still give it 5 stars. I think I’ve been ruined permanently by the chicken here at Sarku. Every time I see Chicken Teriyaki on a menu, it brings me back to memories of Sarku’s CT. I can’t help it, the chicken is just cooked that well. Sarku makes CT with dark meat, which is a big big deal if you’re a fan of the dark meat like I am. On top of it, there sauce is just different. The typical chicken teriyaki sauce is soy sauce based and overly sweet. I believe Sarku’s sauce is also based off soy sauce, but it somehow comes out different. The combination of the dark meat chicken, the flat wok and the freshness of the meal comes together to give you hands down some of the best food you can have for under $ 7.00. A lot of haters reviewing this joint: don’t listen to any of them. Get the CT special, double meat if you really dare(only a dollar extra!) and try your best to find a seat among the baby carriages and teenagers.

Being that I worked in this mall for almost two years I can tell you Sarku Japan is the most popular eatery in the food court next to McDonalds. I was once a fan of this place but I’ve come to see it for what it really is. I’ll start with the fact that they still remain the ONLY eatery in the food court to NOT accept credit card. This boggles my mind. When you are making more money than any other place and probably on par with Mickey D’s you would think they would only make more by having a credit card machine. Secondly the only thing anyone orders here is the chicken teriyaki and I mean 98% of the people who order here order the chicken teriyaki. The carbs are the only thing that changes whether it be noodles, or white/fried rice. Anything else on the menu is suspect, especially if its raw. The chicken is all chopped up dark meat chicken and who knows what you’re getting. Just thinking about it grosses me out. I don’t like dark meat but I do make exceptions. The meal itself even if you get the white rice instead of the fried rice or noodles is steal a grease bucket and that includes the vegetables. Also when I worked here they got shut down by the health department. My coworker said she saw all the employees scrubbing the place form head to toe. The only good thing about Sarku is that they are the only ones who consistently give free samples. Partly because when you come down the escalator they are the first place you run into and free chicken teriyaki on a stick can be very enticing. Like everything else in the QC Mall food court this place is crap. It’s fast food japanese food and even then everyone only orders one thing and you should keep it that way. Better safe than sorry.

Definitely super greasy. I ask them to not use too much grease… SURE! I wouldn’t blame them if they«whatever’ed» me. ehhehe. I LOVEITTHOUGH. I get the teriyaki chicken with noodles. I love noodles. They use dark meat. YUM. And the food court is fun. I was texting to choose which videos I wanted to see… HOWFUN! And there is plenty of seating. And the bathrooms are decent.

This place is such a fail. It boggles my mind to see the number of people waiting in line for this dog food(woof): 1) the vegetables are pathetic and really oily 2) the chicken looks like scraps and lack flavor: I tried putting soy sauce and hot sauce(not at the same time) on the chicken and it still didn’t taste any good. 3) the beef is drier than a desert The only reason why people would go here is because it’s cheap. And you know what?!? That’s perfectly fine as saving dollars makes sense! But seriously people, you can’t tell me this dog food really tastes good and it’s what you crave. Stop trying to rationalize your miserly ways and come clean about going to Sarku to fill up on white rice on the cheap… FYI: we’re in Elmhurst people. There’s so many Asian places with lunch specials from $ 5-$ 6. Please go look on Unilocal to find them and don’t torture yourself with this puppy-chow

How can something so greasy be so good … actually, who am I kidding, how can something so greasy NOT be so good! Like most reviewers said, Sarku is known for its chicken teriyaki. Do yourself a favor, don’t order anything else but the chicken teriyaki. You’ll thank me later. If you are unsure about the taste, look for the lady with a tray of samples. She’ll hook you up with a toothpick full of chicken teriyaki. Note of caution: Once you had a taste of this said chicken teriyaki, it’ll be like crack. You can never look back.
