Love love love this place. It’s my go to whenever I’m in the neighborhood. The food is inexpensive which does not reflect on the taste. I always get the spicy crab rolls, fried rice with shrimp and green tea fried ice-cream. These are my must haves at this place. Service is good too. Could use more staffing during rush hours but that’s far from a drawback. If you’re in the area I’d suggest you go here!

I love this place. I’ve been coming here since high school so I have a lot of funny memories here and an attachment to the place. The food has been consistent for the past four years as well as the prices. You get so much for so cheap. My favorite rolls have always been spicy crab, shrimp tempura and the dragon roll. I love the apricot crab tar tar salad as well. Try their sushi pizza, I think it’s the best thing on the menu.

My favorite island fried rice with shrimp, pad Thai, kani salad, kaki fried, avocado shake are all found in this small cozy place. The price isn’t that bad for very tasty food. You’d love their food too! Brought all my friends here and it’s at par with Manhattan sushi places sometimes even better. You have to go here for a great meal. It’s really small place the staff are nice and they are clean in terms of serving food and the tables are always cleaned up.

The shrimp tempura is delicious! This is my go-to sushi take out place because the quality is good, food is delicious, and you get your bang for your buck. Can’t go wrong with that!

It’s been years since I’ve eaten from here. I have a go-to sushi spot. They’re under new management and I don’t like the changes they’ve made. So I’m kinda shopping around for a new go-to spot. Not too crazy about Tomo, so I tried this place for the first time in years. I ordered delivery: salmon mango, spicy tuna, and eel avocado rolls. My first observation was the pieces are tiny. U barely saw the salmon in the salmon mango roll, and also it was quite a pale color. I pray I won’t get sick tonite. The eel in the avocado was barely visible. Spicy tuna for whatever reason had crunch in it. Not that I minded it was the most decent roll of all. So to sum up, very mediocre and will not make the cut for my go-to spot.

I like this little place! And by little… I mean little. Went here with my boyfriend last night. Sushi was delicious and fresh. The calamari was big and crispy and I love love LOVED the mushroom soup! I’ll always come here for my sushi.

We always come here and they never fail. Best Sushi in Queens. The service is great and the atmosphere is cozy. The Volcano is amazing especially if you pair it with a Pinot Grigio. Definetley a hidden gem.

While in the area, I stopped in for a quick lunch and came across their $ 3 roll special. I ended up trying their spicy tuna roll as well as their salmon avocado roll. Both were fresh and average sized, cheaper rolls usually equal smaller portions — not the case here. Their service was quick and the restaurant was well kept. Great place for a fast and reasonably-priced lunch.

I usually come here if I’m craving sushi and don’t want to eat a ton at a buffet. The rolls are mediocre, but are cheap coming out to like $ 3 to $ 4 each. They have a variety of rolls including spicy tuna, Alaska, tempura, and seaweed salad rolls. There are also original rolls which are a little more expensive. They also have sashimi for a dollar a piece. The service is good though. They are attentive and friendly.

Best sushi place in Queens! Unbeatable price and super yummy rolls. My usual would be the Boston, California, Philadelphia, Calamari rolls and of course their delicious desserts Fried Ice Cream or Cheese Cake to finish it off. You definitely can’t go wrong with these! They are open pretty late which is a plus. One time, I ordered around 10:30 and they still delivered even though they close at 11pm. I have a feeling, Señor delivery man already know my name by heart since I went through a time when I ordered almost every night for about a month or so lol. I made sure to tip him generously to avoid getting judged haha!

Third time coming in, since i wanted sushi close by my area. Ordered spicy crab, spicy tuna, Boston, and fried eel tempura and lastly fried icecream in Green tea. There are a lot of crunchy stuff in sushi rolls and A LOTOFCUCUMBERS!!! The batter was very thick for fried icecream. Didn’t taste good, as it supposed to. Got a sore throat after the next day. I am not going back.

Always great sushi, we love the eel rolls, seaweed salad & rock shrimp. They have very original rolls too, but we love their standard menu options. Hands down the best in the area for sushi!

Minus one star because. CHEAPPEOPLERUNNINGTHEPLACE. If a Chinese takeout can afford to give people hot sauce, so can a place like sushi island which specializes in Japanese and Thai food. The audacity to charge 50 cents for a small plate of hot sauce! Food isn’t all that either. Drunken man noodle literally has close to nothing in it except for broccoli, poorly fried egg that’s near nonexistent, and protein of choice. Sushi rolls are a-ok at best and sushi pieces are cut incredibly thin. Only good thing about here is they have a parking lot.

Should’ve reported this place! My bf and I met after work, and went here on a weekday evening in January. We chose this place because it seemed to have good Unilocal reviews. I ordered what I always get: Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon. My bf and I shared the rolls and before we left, he started feeling sick. I felt fine, so I didn’t think it was the food at all. By the time I got home, I spent the rest of the night throwing up in the bathroom. He was also sick the next day. I literally threw up every piece of sushi I had eaten. I get the SAME rolls every time I get sushi, anywhere. This was our first and LAST time at Sushi Island. There is no reason for 2 different people to get sick, so whatever the heck they’re doing wrong they need to fix. If I had more time on my hands, or was sick for longer I would’ve filed a complaint with the health dept. Disgusted.

How did I not know about this sushi gem just at the corner?! Was looking for a yummy place nearby for a little gathering with the cousins. Reserved a table for 10 on a Tuesday. Place is small, maybe seats 30? And décor is nothing to write home about, but the prices and the food! We had a cheerful server who happily obliged to taking photos. Shrimp fried rice $ 8 Bursting with flavor, this fried rice just might be better than the average Asian restaurant Shrimp tempura bento box $ 16 I was hungry so i ordered a bento, but i didn’t know that it could feed 2 small/regular appetites! Gave away a third of my food, still ended up stuffed.($ 16 is a lunch special in the city with considerably less food and about the same taste, or maybe a tad better) Volcano roll $ 15 Just look at that picture! HUGE pieces of the roll piled on top of each other. And they didn’t sacrifice taste either!

Literally one of my favorite sushi places, Bahama and Pandora rolls are my favorite and with a side of Thai iced tea just makes everything come together nicely, and the staff is always so nice and welcoming. Very friendly and attentive.

— – About the food I got the yellow tail with scallion hand roll which was delicious! It came with the general wasabi and ginger, to freshen your palate. I also had the roast duck ramen. Even though this isn’t a ramen shop, I love this ramen when they make it right. It comes with a generous portion of noodles, three pieces of naruto, bean sprouts, scallions and duck. I went today and it came out warm. The duck skins where also pretty fatty but it’s still a $ 8.50 well spent. — – About the service They are very nice people and I haven’t had a bad service here. Not much to say except tip well because they work hard at what they do.
