Imitation teriyaki boy — really bad fast food ramen

I had the tan tan, really disappointed. The broth was thick and the noodles were not good! I’ve eaten a lot of ramen and I know it’s not suppose to taste like that. I did like the gyoza ignoring the fact they served it with the meat coming out of its shell. For a place that just open the service was horrible no greeting and no smiles. I did like that my soup was really hot. I do believe this place has the potential to improve.

Started eating here more frequently. Usually I order a platter of Tokyo Fried Chicken, tempura/California rolls, vegetables, and rice. This is a large amount of food that is almost always satisfying. However, the tempura can be really hit-or-miss. Overall, Ramen Samurai Boy has become one of my favorite local restaurants.

I live very, very local to this place. Practically down the street and turning a corner, however, its convenience wouldn’t be enough to make me come back here again. While the food was mediocre, what kind of turns me off is the environment. It’s very small and cramped, but I guess it’s best if you want to get it for takeout and bring home to eat in your own comfort. Now as for the food– potstickers and dumplings, they were generic and probably frozen stuff from the Asian market down on Broadway and cooked, rather than cooked fresh or original with special ingredients. And for the ramen, a lot of broth, not a lot of ingredients other than noodles. Just not my cup of tea– I’ve had much better and heartier ramen in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Great small place to eat some Ramen while on lunch break. Customer service was ok, neither excellent nor bad. Ramen and sushi were ok, i enjoyed Ramen the most though. Good place to come if your looking to fill your tummy.

Not a fan of this ramen place, I ordered 2 different kind of ramen takeout. The soup is salty and they only gave out little meat. The price is not cheap almost $ 10 a bowl. I would try again only if they lower the price since this is the only ramen place in elmhusrt

I’m not sure why I even bothered. Ever since I had Totto Ramen, other ramen does not cut it for me anymore. Today, I was just sick of the usual places I go to for lunch and stopped by this new little restaurant for, hopefully, a decent bowl of ramen. Had the only spicy ramen option and I didn’t like the little chunks of meat that got lost in the soup. I also realized that they don’t have cha siu… c’mon man, that’s like the staple for a good ramen.

I wasn’t expecting much but the teriyaki chicken ramen was surprisingly tasty. The chicken was succulent and very well prepared. A very peaceful place to have a meal on a Sunday afternoon. Will return.

I have only tried the sushi so understand that the rating does not apply to the ramen. I had the California roll and the spider roll and they were both extremely disappointing. The rice was of supermarket quality, you know the packed and thick rice. It could’ve been a paste of rice rather than whole kernels real sushi rice. Cucumbers were not sliced thin but were much bigger that a chopstick. The spider roll was in 4VERYLARGE pieces ***minimum of 2X bites for one piece, and I have a big mouth. Not much Wasabi for each roll, is there a shortage??? Miso soup — Comes in a coffee cup??? Ok, I’ll bite. Why is there corn in my miso soup??? and where is the soft tou. Very salty as well. I hope they get their act together because this place has so much«potential» for success.

I had a craving for ramen but didn’t want to travel far. So we typed«ramen» in search in current area and this came up. It was really close and I’m surprised I didn’t see it on my way to Patacon Pisao, which I’m a regular of. It was pretty empty for a Friday dinner time, but we thought maybe everyone just passed it like we did. I ordered the Miso ramen and he had the Tan Tan ramen. The soups were both cloudy looking and his was a tad spicy. The ingredients were fresh and a bit odd for ramen ingredients, such as fresh corn and beets. But I said what the haayyy, I like them both. Soup was passable, ramen was ok. Overall this place is passable if you’re itching for some noodle soup, but the it’s not the high quality broth that’s been boiled down for hours. Could I make this stuff at home, maybe but for the price I’d rather not.

I am a big ramen fan and the ramen here was solid. If you run down the list of the City’s top 10 joints this gives half of them competition. The broth was solid and the toppings were somewhat creative. The noodles were good and slightly undercooked. The place was crystal clean and ambiance was bright. Bottom line for me is that I WOULD travel to Elmhurst just to eat here.

I have been waiting for so long for this place to get occupied by a good place to eat since Little Saigon was here and then they just disappeared. The Ramen soups they serve are plentiful and seem to be very worth the price. There are a few things they have to improve. First of all there are 3 tables for 2 people each. I know the place is small but that was a little rough to deal with. I almost didn’t order the Ramen cause I had to where to sit. Luckily when it was our turn to order we got a table so it was ok. The Ramen is very good. I would like to try all the different types one day. The sushi menu has to expand. There are like 5 things on the sushi menu. Hopefully they will expand on that in the future. The snacks they serve seem to be overpriced for what you get and I have had better. There were about 10 people who came in and asked for a menu which they didnt have. They should have put that together before opening the doors. Seemed like people were upset. Hopefully they will learn and grow in the near future. I enjoyed the food and the workers were helpful and friendly.

Finally a ramen place in Elmhurst(not counting Lao Bei Fang across the Boulevard)… First thing to note is that place has just opened and that they are a CASHONLYPLACE! Most of the main dishes were a little more than $ 10 but there are a variety of other dishes. The interior of the place is surprisingly clean and friendly with a light green theme. There are only one or two tables but four counter seats that are great for people watching. Not exactly the most intimate place but is clean and friendly! In terms of food they offer a variety of items on their menu(which they are still printing). They have appetizers which consist of your regular pseudo Japanese fare: 1. Edamame 2. Gyoza(dumplings) 3. Shumai(shrimp dumplings) which I didn’t end up trying just because for the most part I think that these dishes are usually mediocre and the place featured ramen which is pretty filling. The ramens that they offer are also the usual ramens that you see around except they are all named something different and have a slighly different twist to them such as using ground pork instead of slices of pork. They offer their own variation of Shoyo, Curry, Miso, Spicy-Miso and the like. — I had the Spicy Miso variety; a creamy savory soup that melted together with seasoned ground pork they added as a topping. While I thought it could be spicier the soup was great. The ramen here was very decent and better than any of the ramen places in the neighborhood which includes pretty much all of Queens because I cant think of too many actual ramen places that arent Chinese La-Mein which has a completely different flavour. A few end notes — 1. They do have Sushi which I havent tried at all so I cant say too much about it but it ranges from California rolls to lobster rolls 2. They also have rice dishes that I didnt end up trying but they consist mostly of Japanese American-ish fare like Chicken Teriyaki and the like.
