Made my own smash burger and it was favorably delicious. The smash fries were not too flavorful but the spicy ones were delicious. Will be returning soon

Dashed in here during halftime of a Warriors game, so the place was pretty empty. The food, while fresh, was just okay. Let’s start with the French fries. As other reviewers have noted, the fries here are way over-salted. Like WOW, I just got my entire daily sodium intake in one sitting. I can usually deal with salt and love it, so this just tells you how bad it was. Got the crispy chicken burger, which came in a very generous portion. Yum. I liked that it came out very crispy and yummy. The scene was interesting. We had a woman who was clearly homeless and was shooed off by the Smashburger employee, who implied that this was a regular visitor. Also, one of the workers sat next to me on her break and played YouTube videos really loudly, so much that I couldn’t hear the restaurant music. Wasn’t expecting the extra entertainment, haha. The wait to get my food wasn’t long… but I can see why other Unilocal reviewers complain. The menu has a lot of options, and people in line seemed to have a lot of questions. I wouldn’t come here if I needed quick service, but wanted to sit and enjoy.

I’m surprised this has so many low ratings, but I guess these places are hit or miss sometimes. I went here after my workout because it’s so close, which is a plus! Parking is in the Safeway shopping center but it does get crowded. Service — they were friendly to me and my friend. Our orders were right and they didn’t forget anything. Burger — I had me a truffle smash burger. It was quite tasty because i could taste the truffle. There was no lettuce or tomato, which let me focus on my mushrooms and truffle, mmmm. Fries — got us some smashfries with the Rosemary and olive oil. Super tasty and even tastier in the truffle Mayo! I put them into my burger too and had a grand olé time. Milk shake — omg, real ice cream and made in front of me? This definitely hit my chocolate and ice cream craving! 10⁄10 Would order again!

I got a free coupon from one of the people running the place to come back anytime. Expiration date was 6÷1÷16 and was told I can go to any Smashburger. I got there, they said no, it wasn’t signed by the manager and it is going to expire. Well, in about a week it will expire and the coupon was given by one of the owners. So I had to pay. I suggest going to the Alameda Smashburger than the Emeryville one. Then I got my truffle Smashchicken. Just cover it up with truffle oil because it was leaking all over my hand. Wasn’t even busy but still took 15 minutes to get my one burger. Not coming back for a small burger at about $ 8.

I always try to support local restaurants. I kept receiving post cards about Smash Burgers. It was annoying they never included a small discount in their mailer. I ordered a truffle mushroom burger and rosemary French fries. The total cost was around $ 12. The burger was not that great. The meat lacked any seasoning. I did taste the truffle oil. There was not any lettuce or tomato. It just seemed very one dimensional. I would have expected some great aioli at that price point. The egg bun was totally smashed like the burger. The rosemary french fries were the bright spot. I loved how they were thin like frites. For anyone in the area, there are better local options.

Inadequate customer service. I came here for the first time and waited for a cashier. No one said anything to us for at least two minutes. The cashier was extremely rude, she did not read back our order and when I told her she got it wrong she said«no I didn’t.» Handed me the receipt and then started helping the next person. We had to get back in line to have it corrected. The food came out fast but we weren’t impressed by the location. The tables were dirty and I would prob only do take out next time if I came back.

Slow service, many mistakes. Which is too bad, because their food is really delicious! Please note, the workers were friendly and hustling constantly to get orders out. I’ve eaten at another Smashburger near Sacramento and no issues there. I wish I didn’t have to write this. But there were too many mistakes to ignore: First, we walked in with no line, and waited 10+ minutes at the front of the line while previous orders were being finished. Once our orders arrived there was a mistake in every part: 1. Burger: One order of «add tomato and spinach» to the Bay Burger came out with lettuce & tomato, and they left off the baby arugula that normally comes on it. I didn’t ask for a sub, I specifically asked to add those things. 2. Milkshakes: they ask you if you want whipped cream. One was yes and one was no. Both came out wrong. 3. Fries: ordered sweet potato smash fries, got plain sweet potato fries, mentioned the error, they said sorry and brought out regular potato smash fries. As I said the workers were very polite and professional and addressed all complaints on a cool way just not correctly. Bless their hearts! Maybe they just need more people working? It definitely was hectic with only two people out front. The milkshakes seemed to be time consuming and only one person could work on them at a time. Also we were here at 2:30 on a Saturday, and left at 3:00, and it was a little calmer by then. I would come back but maybe at a more off-peak time.

Staff was really very nice. I felt so welcomed from the time I got in line to the time I received my food. Ordered the Cobb salad, it was delish! Large enough to share. My daughter had the chicken BBQ sandwich and she loved it. Shakes and fries were both better than expected. I’m almosy done reading Unilocal reviews. More often than not the higher rated places suck, and the ones lacking in stars seem to amaze me. I’m happy a burger joint is in town. I’ll be back! Ps gluten free buns :)

The burgers were pretty tasty but not worth the price. $ 21 for 1 regular smash burger, 1 «created» burger, large fries and 1 soda. The fries are super skinny and too salty. However, the establishment was clean and the employees are friendly and helpful but I’ll not return there.

Burgers are very flavorful and fries are perfect. The shakes are amazing! To some the prices is a bit much, totally worth it though. They just need to clean the tables a little faster. There’s always a line, but I always seem to get my food pretty fast. After all, it’s not a drive thru burger joint, so I don’t expect it to be ready immediately.

First experience with Smashburger. Walked and and took a minute to see what their menu comprised of. Good to see they have chicken options and salads. I opted for the regular size build your own burger. Free toppings included the standard produce but also offered cucumbers, jalapeños, and probably other stuff I missed. Good selection of cheese offered as at additional cost, as well as some premium add-one(bacon, guacamole, etc). Fries options: regular or sweet potato. I got the sweet potato smash fries which are tossed in olive oil and rosemary. Good came out fast(I think I beat the lunch crowd?). Burger was decent size for being a regular. Juicy patty and cooked medium. Fries were good, the Rosemary definitely elevated them. Customer service was good, several team members came to check on the table and was very nice and pleasant. Seems like they’re trying to step it up to get customers back since there are so many horrible reviews on here.

Wow that’s slow. I can’t review the food since there isn’t any. Fast casual?!? Hardly. More like a no food ever go hungry restaurant. This is miserable. Sooo Ooooh Slooooooo owwwww. I am still waiting. Still waiting… OK, one order is here, but not mine. Oh the humanity.

38 minute wait for a burger with no apology. Thanks for smashing my time and not my burger. Feel bad for all the folks waiting, especially with children. This place lacks true leadership since no one even came out to let everyone know what was going on.

I love going to this place for lunch! Good service and the burgers are good. Fair price. When you have 3o min for lunch and you feel like having a burger /fries this is the place. 7 out of 10

On a returned visit, ordered their temporary promotion of «Sin City Burger» regular with 4 oz beef Patty for USD6.79 vs. the big 8 oz beef Patty for USD1 more. Asked if they have problems oversalting their food and how oversalted my food was from my last visit. One of the workers brought that attention to the staff in the kitchen to not salt my food much. It was seasoned nicely without it being oversalted this last visit, so I rated this experience higher.

ahaha I thought Smashburger was an actual burger restaurant until I pulled up! But still, I really like the burger I got. I believe it was called the bacon avocado egg bun burger! That egg bun, was really good never had a egg bun before! I guess this Smashburger is new, so the inside looks really good and they have a patio so dogs are allowed!

After finally deciding that I could give up In&Out burgers and therefore radically reduce my red meat intake, someone goes and opens up a Smash Burger. Maybe it’s been along time since I’ve had a real good, backyard barbecue, but these Burgers taste like they came off the grill. Even the up and fries make me want to come back for more. Damn. Substitute the whole wheat bun for the regular one and definitely substitute grilled onions for the standard raw ones.

The location is easy to get to and the parking is plenty. I was on the way home from the City but wanted a quality Burger. I remembered that this location open up fairly recently and I was surprised that it wasn’t busy. Apparently I missed the rush and that’s ok by me. I went ahead and ordered the Smashmeal with the Bacon Cheeseburger and drink. I’m a fry purist so I got the regular spuds instead of Smash fries.(which has Olive oil, Rosemary, Garlic) The people are friendly and I was served quickly. It picked up really quick because the line was out the door by the time I left. The only thing I can complain about if it’s a complaint at all is that it was a messier burger than I remember. I guess that’s why they invented napkins. I will be back again for the Jalapeño burger.

I love the burgers here — The way they smash them makes the proportion of burger to ingredients just perfect and the nooks and grannies — I mean crannies — collect the delicious juices for better Burger experience overall. My favorite is the spinach cucumber goat cheese on *get this* a delicious gluten free bun. My wildest dreams realized, I paid about $ 8 for this masterpiece and it actually all held together. I Will be back — I’m smashin with a passion.
