City of Encinitas: Community & Senior Center

For a good sized town that’s affluent & with lots of tax revenues (such as property & business taxes, etc.), it’s not used much at all for a good reason. Their idea of Parks & Recreation does not include swimming like their neighbor to the north in Carlsbad (or water slides). I guess a boat load of million dollar homes doesn’t guarantee what other towns have, like three gymnasiums & three pools, all with water slides. Even small towns on fourth the size of Encinitas has those. So where’s the money go? City Administrator? Their latest new park is HUGE, not that many people use it! All the baseball, football, soccer fields & basketball courts so the kids & young adults can play, or toddler «classes»? The expanding senior population does NOT takes many funds for bingo, pool room, overcooked depleted lunch, or whatever. So while living is expensive with the cheapest house at about $ 600,000 that requires taxes of about $ 5,000 every year, what you can expect is traffic jams & road-​rage. Hmm.

I love the community center!!! Everything about it is so great the bball court is always fun to play at

My 18 month old and I are taking a Tiny Tot class here. He seems to really enjoy it and likes interacting with the teacher and kids. He loves all of the toys that he doesn’t normally play with at home. And, I like that there is structure to the class so that he can warm up to the idea of preschool. We do circle time with songs, snack time, play time, arts and crafts and at the end we have circle time again to say goodbye. I feel like he is learning and socializing in a clean environment. And, I get to meet some other moms with children the same age as mine. Plus, I don’t have to spend a ton of money for registration. Just pay for the class… no sign-​up fee!
