This is a good neighborhood park. It has a nice small playscape and plenty of shade trees. It’s on a hillside so most of the grassy areas are on a slope which isn’t the best for the kids playing. I think the one thing which sets it apart are bocce courts and horseshoe pits. It’s the first small park I’ve come across with those.

Well this place was right next to my middle school and the park itself is alright. I never played on the playground much, which is pretty nice. I enjoyed walking to the park after school with friends and hanging out and talking, sitting on top of the concrete tables. Lots of hilly grass to play and roll down. Lots of room to play tag!

Oak Crest Park is unique in the city of Encinitas. In fact, it’s the only park I know of anywhere in San Diego that offers both bocce ball and horseshoes! Not only do they offer nice dedicated facilities for both of these games, but they offer organized tournament play for each. Parking is usually pretty ample under the shade of their numerous trees. The location on the hilltop makes for some captivating views, particularly to the north and east into Rancho Santa Fe.
