I cannot believe that no one has reviewed Coaster Coffee. It’s been in the same place for probably 13 or more years. It’s a coffee cart on the far south side of the Coaster station in Encinitas. I know she is open early in the mornings but not sure how late. I have taken the train as late as 10am and she is still there serving fresh coffee, cappuccinos, lattes etc with a smile.
She also has a selection of fruit and pastries. So Coaster Coffee is your go to spot while you are hopping on the train. Prices are reasonable and she makes a mean cup of java.

I drive out of my way to get my daily espresso drink from the Coaster Coffee cart at the Encinitas Coaster station. I am an espresso snob; as I relied on it while living in Seattle ‘gray’ for the past 5 years. Also, in my college days, I was a barista for 2 different large coffee corporations.
What separates Coaster Coffee’s flavor from the other coffee places: a) use of fresh, locally roasted beans b) handcrafted shots from a ‘real’ espresso machine (not the automated style used in most places today).
An added bonus is the owner/operator’s friendly attitude and affordable prices. Hours are approx. 5:15am — 9:40am Monday-​Friday.
