Went here about a month ago. Finally doing a review to warn others. I almost had a good haircut until I asked the barber to take off my sideburns. Apparently I should have told him where to cut. One side was cut where it should be and the other was about ½ an inch too high! I was embarrassed of my haircut for a few weeks until it finally grew out enough.

Moved from Napa, CA to Encinitas months ago. Looking for a new «stylist» during that time. Read about Encintas Barber Shop on Unilocal: true to their word. This place is awesome! No attitude, minimal small talk, in n out in 20 min – and Matt hooks you up. Great shop!

Nice local barber shop. Been the same guys there for the last 5+ years I have been using them less the dad who does not show up to cut hair anymore. They were the only one in the are to offer cuts on Sunday so I started going and glad I did. Remember Cash only and the generac ATM across the street is not there any more.

This place is fantastic. I was paying $ 40 before to get the same haircut I get from these guys for ~$ 20 ($ 15 haircut with a tip because these guys deserve it). I told Matt that I didn’t know what I wanted, and after discussing a cut with him for a minute, he started doing his thing. Best haircut I have ever had, and I’ve been to 25+ salons/​barbershops in multiple states.

With 5 years experience cutting my own hair with clippers and/​or scissors and having roommates to help cut the back, I’ve never been happy with a haircut I had to pay for until this place. I had a general idea of what I wanted, but wasn’t sure exactly how to explain it. Other places got it wrong, but here they nailed it. Good prices and a good vibe also.

Family owned barber shop for many years, top notch professionalism.
You may randomly encounter local professional athletes (active and retired) getting haircuts here. Lots of people, like me, travel out of their way to get a haircut at Encinitas Barber Shop.
If you want to spend $ 20+ just to have a pair of breasts rub against your shoulders and have a bad haircut, go somewhere else, because you won’t get that here; just a good quality, low cost haircut by guys who know how to cut hair.
Parking can sometimes be a bit of a chore, but it’s worth the hassle.

Needed a haircut. Stopped in, waited for 0 minutes, told him what I wanted, avoided chitchat, watched the History Channel in the mirror for 10 minutes, and stood up with my hair cut just how I wanted it. Damage: $ 12. That’s exactly what a man needs. My kind of place.
