Friends brought us here for dinner as they are regulars. Nice people. Great manager and staff. I had a house salad and chicken picata. It wasn’t as good as mine :(. My hubby had the lasagna, and said it was good, but he’d had better.(We are spoiled as we have a first generation Italian restaurant here in town where we are regulars.). The tiramisu was EXCELLENT. I also tasted the coffee gelato. It was also excellent.

When I am craving really good Italian food, I come here! This is the place to go! The polenta is incredible! The meat lasagna is amazing, love how they leave the two sauces separate on the plate(you get to choose which sauce for each bite you take). I am also a total sucker for good Tiramisu.

Went for dinner at the spur of the moment tonight and decided to pay corkage and bring a 10-year old Howell Mountain Cabernet since my wine cellar is overflowing with boxes on the floor(Yeah, I know, tough problem!). Food was great, lobster ravioli and rack of lamb. What really set tonight apart was the wine service our waiter Mike provided on the wine I brought: After noticing we had brought a high end wine from 2005 he volunteered that the wine be decanted, then while opening the bottle the cork crumbled leaving half of the cork still in the neck of the bottle. With expert skill Mike removed all the remaining cork without pushing any into the bottle. Then he did something I have not seen in years(and never in Southern CA), he used an actual lighter(candle substitute) to decant the wine to make sure he could see any sediment before it went into the decanter! Performed just perfectly! I suspect he is training to be a Somm? Well done, and entirely worth the corkage fee.

This is near my mother-in-law’s place and it is her favorite restaurant. We’ve gone several times and my favorite item is definitely the Rigatoni alla Vodka e Fungi with an added Italian sausage on top — SOGOOD! I will probably never be able to stray from it again now that I’ve had it, but I’ve tried lots of other items here though, and they are all great. Some fantastic items include: the lasagna(served with both a creamy sauce and a tomato sauce — never seen that before but it’s delicious), the carbonara, and lots of different salads(all fantastic), plus appetizers — the bruschetta and calamari are always big hits with our family. Not inexpensive, but so good! This is the best Italian I’ve tried in the area — I’m surprised the reviews aren’t higher! We always have great service, but then again, my MIL is a regular so I don’t know if we get any special treatment. Love Firenze!

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. We were debating where to go and we were glad we chose this restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service and ambiance. We sat by the fountain under the heat lamps and was very pleasant. We plan to come back again in the future, great Italian food, great experience!

Read reviews. Noticed that some described as overpriced-basic Italian. I decided to give it a try anyway, because who knows with these Unilocal reviewers :). 1 appetizer, 3 entrees, 2 glasses of wine and one kids plate of pasta was almost $ 200(inc. gratuity). We all agreed that the food was basic and unimpressive, I would describe this restaurant as overpriced, mediocre Italian. Trying to think of a few positives: Our server was really nice They have a good number of food options Outdoor seating I would not recommend or return. Even out of convenience(we live 10 minutes away).

Not sure exactly what to grade this experience, you decide. Went there late one evening with a friend and sat at the bar which although small seemed where more people were sitting and we got the last 2 seats. Anyway, my first time there and I ordered the Pollo Scarpariello. When I started eating, the chicken seemed a little tough and I needed more knife work than expected to cut. I expected it to be much more juicy and tender. I said this quietly to my friend and not the bartender, and not expecting to complain. He overheard me though, he was at the other end of the bar, came over and asked my concern. I told him but did not expect anything. Minutes later I received a large, fresh piece of chicken in a different style. Much flatter, I think he said it was stamped or something. Anyway, that chicken was a little more tender, but of course, it was much thinner too, but it still wasn’t «butter» as I might expect for a $ 28 dollar plate. I said nothing and thanked him. At this point it was much more food than necessary and I had a full meal to take home. When I asked for the check, I was leaving but my friend was staying, the bartender told me they took it off my bill entirely and only charged me for my drink. That was nice but a couple days later when I saw my friend he said my dinner was on his bill! Food was pretty good, service too, but this is either a 3 or a 4 but can’t give it a 5.

Friendly warm place to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends. The bread is good and the calamari Venezia appetizer is my favorite and I will order that as my entrée.

I’ve eaten here 2 nights in a row and it’s been fantastic. We had the burrata, and lobster salad. The blended red wine was very nice and definitely had my spirits up. We did have to wait a little longer than expected to order dinner after our appetizers but in the end, the meal was 100% delicious. I would recommend this restaurant and loved it so much, I met another group of friends there tonight as well. Once again, the food was spectacular. I enjoyed every moment!

I think the owner should be aware of how new customers are treated. I went there recently and was appalled as to how the bartendar/server treated me. It wasn’t busy so there’s no excuse for poor service. I had to ask for everything, bread, water, even another glass of wine. He never told me what the specials were or any recommendations. I would have considered ordering a meal but instead opted for some appetizers. The bartendar seemed more interested in sharing his personal business with the staff than paying attention to his customers. The food was good but at those prices I expected atleast 4 star service. So sad because there are so many more great restaurants that have great food, service and value. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

I read all of the reviews before we came. I was torn. It was either 5 star amazing or 1 star horrible. I didn’t know what to make of it so we went. Many of the reviews were spot on. If I had a 3.5 star button I would but I am leaning towards 4. The bill was $ 435 with tip for 7 of us. So on the high side. Spaghetti bolognese at $ 22 would be considered high in most circles. The service was great, our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The food could have been more daring. They play it safe with the seasoning. Spaghetti bolognese was a 6.5. Needed more spice, salt and garlic. The Alfredo needed salt. The carbonara was more like fettuccine Alfredo with pancetta, which is not the way it is supposed to be made. The chicken meatballs and spaghetti was great. The Vitello Marsala needed more seasoning but was cooked perfectly. The chicken and shrimp… Chicken was bland, shrimp was amazing, the pasta tasted ok. All in all it was a nice night without any hiccups. Great service, nice ambiance and good food. It’s a safe place to go if you aren’t looking for amazing. If I owned this place I get a little more daring with the heat and the seasoning. Is that a fair review?

I’ve eaten here three or four times with friends. The staff appear to know their regulars personally(some by name) as I saw staff speaking with some tables in a friendly manner as if they know them fairly well. Our service was attentive with drinks were kept up. The bread is quite good, with two or three baskets eaten by our table on each occasion. Calamari Venezie(with capperberries) is a great appetizer. I think that I’ve always ordered the lasagna on all of my visits. It is a very large potion that has two sauces served over it(a meat sauce and creamy alfredo style I think). Carbonara spaghetti was enjoyed, as well as seafood pasta/risotto(a favorite of my partner). The specials of the day were fish based on our last visit, I don’t usually eat fish, but my table mates enjoyed these. Several desserts were shared and we liked them all, but the chocolate lava cake was incredible good. We’ve usually been seated on the patio, and as evening sets the overhead heaters have been used to keep the area comfortable.

Conveniently located, but expensive, bland and noisy. Entrées were served plain with no vegetable or other side dish and were distinctly unmemorable. My husband’s seafood risotto was apparently plain boiled white rice topped with a good amount of plain, mixed, good quality seafood. The pollo piccata that I ordered had been prepared without lemon. No Parmesan cheese was offered, the waiter didn’t stop by the table a second time to check on us. The quality of the ingredients was high, but the quality of the cooking was not. Portion sizes were large, if you enjoy large portions of bland food. There are numerous, better restaurants in the area.

Celebrated my birthday here with my husband. Lovely patio accepts dogs which we did not know about, otherwise our long-haired dachshound would have been with us. Our lunch was lovely, assisted by an expert server who was adult and knowledgeable. She corrected my wine choice when I was disappointed with my first selection. My husband likes his pasta simple: the Marinara sauce was very pleasing to him. I had one of the daily specials: Pork loin w/portobello sauce. It was excellent. I opted to replace garlic mashed potatoes w/pasta. The pasta sauce was a simple olive oil w/wine garlic and a tinge of tomato. Quietly elegant. The string beans were fresh — as though just plucked from the garden. This dish was impressive. The bread has a wonderful European baked crustiness. This was our first visit, but we will return often. The interior ambiance was quietly reserved. Diners opted for the large patio because the noon time weather was lovely. Umbrellas provided shade. The quality lunch presentation equaled the cost. Fairly priced. Parking available. This restaurant is located on the east edge of a shopping center.

OMG went for dinner and it was amazing. I ordered the special chicken breast and Mark the sea bass. Neither of us wanted carbs and no problem them swapped it out without a blink. Asked about wine an the waitress said rather than 2 glasses buy a bottle for 2 dollars more, who does that? I would highly recommend it. I had been for HH but never dinner and was blown away

Yum! So good. Sitting outside with a lovely fountain and great candle lighting sets the mood. The burrata appetizer was one of the best I’ve had. Seriously the homemade pesto… Well done! My husband had food orgasm from his pasta wrapped protein dish Very pleased…

To be honest I was all around unimpressed. We went last night for my grandmothers birthday dinner. When walked in the door at 5:30 on a Sunday night there wasn’t anyone around and my mom had to track down a staff member to seat us. I found it strange that the waiters asked three times if we wanted to just sit and relax before they took our order, no I was hungry. For being North county San Diego their beer list was really unimpressive, not one local brew on tap, I get that most people buy wine with Italian food, but still lame. The food took a little while to come out the waiter did stop by to say it would be just one more minute, it took about 10 more. My dad was a little disappointed that he was not informed the vegetable served with his dish was broccoli since he does not like it. I ate it and honestly thought it was the best part of the meal. my grandmother and I had the lobster ravioli It tasted mostly like cheese I think I only saw one chunk of lobster in any of the 6 – 8 ravioli. My mother ordered one of the risottos we all had a taste and agreed that the risotto at Tommy V’s in Carlsbad is 100x better. Another complaint was the temperature, as the place started to fill up it become very uncomfortably hot. There was also water on the floor under some of the tables… not really sure where that came from. I probably wont be back here, it’s too far out of the way when there are much cheaper and better places not far off.
