The fish is very very good, I have no problem with the sushi or food they serve but I expect to have my water cup filled… end of story, pour me water and I’ll consider coming back.

I will never ever ever everrrrr go back here again. Let me start by saying all the employees are terrible. I called to make a reservation for 5 and the man told me they don’t take reservations for a party of less than 8. I understood and said okay. But right when I was about to hang up he said it’s okay thought I’ll put your name and party down. So I walk into Midori and the employees say ‘there’s no name but it’s okay next table is yours.’ And of course the next 2 tables were given to other parties and the table that was supposed to be ours took forever to be cleaned. About 30 min altogether. Finally after we were seated and the waiter took our order, I asked for all the sauces the sushi comes with except for one of the rolls. ALLTHEROLLSHADNOSAUCE. Okay, after the bill comes, I put my AMEX card and they tell me they don’t take American Express and I had nothing else on me not even a debit card to go to an atm. But I called my mom and she gave me all of the information for her Visa card and I told them to manually input it into their computers even offered to show ID. She hit me with the ‘oh we don’t do that but you can bring the money tomorrow we just need a picture of your ID and a phone number’ then switched it to ‘One of you need to leave your phones here and you need to leave your ID.’ So obviously I wasn’t going to leave my ID and my sisters phone there overnight and at this point I have gone through three annoying employees ever since I walked in and I was so done with this place. I said exactly: ‘I am never going to come here ever again. First I had a reservation and none of you noted it down second I wanted all the sauces on my sushi and ended up with none of them and third now you’re fucking throwing this bullshit at me so don’t expect me to ever return.’ I literally cursed at her in 3 different languages it takes a lot to make me angry and they achieved it! I have never gotten angry at an employee before but oh jesus! I drove home got their money and brought it back and told him to keep the change because they needed it. Worst restaurant experience of my life. And of course as I’m walking out all of the employees turn and say thank you so much thank you thank you. Of course you’re going to be kissing my butt, you’re losing business!

I have been to and ordered from Midori Sushi many times, both on my own and through eat 24. Tonight was something I did not expect. After waiting over an hour for my order a 3rd part delivery service sent me a text with their driver info — Great! You can see how far they are blah blah blah. I meet him outside, so my pups don’t freak out and bark, he greets me with my name and hands me my food. I then sign his cell phone screen(that had a much lower total on it) but I’m tired and hungry and I go inside. Immediately I see that it’s not my name and full of Salmon, which I cannot eat. I quickly go back to that map and run outside. The drivers info is gone, no number to call, and the driver is also gone. I attempt to call the Restaurant with no luck of answering. Keep in mind this is only about 9:05pm. I contacted eat24 and they attempted to call the restaurant. They give me 50% back(to which I let them know what not enough after the entire situation.) at this point I am at about 1.5 hours waiting. They say the restaurant is preparing and I will have my order in 40 min. 45 minutes later — no food and no answer at the restaurant. I then contact eat24 which proceeds to tell me they attempted contact is the restaurant but they were already closed.(I also received a text saying the exact same thing at the same time I am on live chat) As I am hearing this kind eat24 operator out, I receive an email from the restaurant stating that they received my CANCELLATIONREQUEST. Ummm no. I did not cancel. They say the 3rd party delivery offered to deliver for me anyway, to which I respond«deliver what? The restaurant is closed, it’s now been 2 hours and I have to go to sleep for work.» Needless to say, I never received my food. The restaurant wouldn’t answer my calls and the restaurant canceled my order and said they were closed at 9:00pm in Los Angeles. Unhappy with the restaurant and their choice of 3rd part delivery companies and the lack of contact information.

AYCE sushi is mostly rice(and on the dry side so it quickly expands when you drink water). Feels gimmicky every time I eat here.

Such a meh experience. My friend wanted to hit up an ayce sushi joint and this is the closest to my apartment. The fish is not great… Chewy pieces. You can have 3 pieces of albacore sashimi per person. The texture ain’t great. We tried a bunch of things: unagi, salmon, yellowtail, escolar, Spanish mackerel, halibut, uni, scallops, and a few specialty roll. I’m sad that they won’t give you half rolls but the rolls itself aren’t as big as what you’d see in other restaurants. The prices are way too high for the quality and size if you didn’t select ayce. I wouldn’t come back again :/I’d rather pay more to have higher quality food. The ayce rate doesn’t include drinks or dessert. That was such a bummer.

Best AYCE around here so far! Friendly service and 28 dollars for AYCEIS A GOODPRICE considering the great selection of sushi rolls and appetizers that come with it. Love the #4 Roll and Kamikaze roll. I come with my coworkers at lunch and sometimes after for dinner and beers.

Let me start with the only positive, and only reason for the extra star… the waiter/waitress staff are nice and understanding people. Now as to why our party of 12 left before even ordering… the owner/manager/owners brother, whatever he is, has no idea how to run a business. 11 of us came to eat and drink and one of us just wanted one roll, he wouldn’t allow it. We had a few of our party show up late and the group next to our tables was leaving and we had planned to fill that table with our extra members but he immediately said that was not possible, even after they stood waiting for 30 minutes. He originally never said anything about it being a problem, but as soon as one of our group didn’t want to do the all you can eat, his whole demeanor changed and it felt like he didn’t want any of us there. He did not want to help us out in any way, a big group of paying customers. No matter what we asked it was an immediate no. It was the worst experience at a sushi restaurant, possibly any restaurant, I’ve ever had. Please don’t waste your time going here, there are hundreds of other sushi places up here in he valley that you can go to who will make your stay as good as the food!

One word terrible… unless you eat at the bar do not come here. 20 minutes between orders, have to ask for a refill. Our orders goes to another table, I would chalk it up to one time occurrence but same thing happened before when we sat at a table. Ate at the bar about 10 times and had zero issues so stay away from the tables.

I would say the place is good. The hand roll was pretty fresh. The cooked food was good but I did not have enough raw food in order to determine how fresh their fish is. Prices are good.

I am used to paying $ 21-$ 25 for all you can eat sushi. This placed charged me $ 29 and imposed limitations. One of the limitations, is you can only get 1 order of ikura, 1 order of uni, 1 order of halibut. I asked for halibut and they were out. I asked the sushi chef if I could substitute it with another premium order since they were out. He said no. I asked the manager for the same thing. She said no. I feel like I overpaid for sushi and didn’t get my money’s worth. Ended up eating some sushi with a slightly ruined mood. Not coming back here.

All you can eat for lunch was horrible experience. One waitress for the whole place. The sushi was not exciting– service was horrible– and price not worth it. I got tired of looking for my waitress and waiving my hand for attention. They give you one hour to eat and we spent 45 minutes just looking for service.

I love this place! All you can eat sushi at a great price. My fiancé and I come here at least twice a month and can’t get enough. The food is good and their staff is even better. Highly recommended!

My favorite place to eat at, the place is very clean and their food is tasty, the service is excellent no matter how busy the place, their prices are really good(all you can eat for $ 29) comparing to the high quality of the fish. I highly recommend this place, definitely I will always be back.

I hate to say it but, this place has gotten a lot worse since the first time I came here… I didn’t want to believe it so I came twice to make sure and sadly, it’s true. The last time I came was on a weekday before dinner rush at around 3 – 4 pm, being a party of 2, of the only 4 patrons in the entire establishment. It still took 1.5 hours to finish our meal — not because we eat slow and like to talk, very much the opposite, but because the chefs cut extremely slow. Tonight was no different, with only 2 parties at the bar and 4 – 5 chefs at one point… I’m surprised they have a 1-hr policy tacked onto their AYCE policy since it takes around 30 minutes to get an order. It is even more absurd considering the fish is clearly filleted and portioned to be served quickly. I love the ambiance at the bar here, but the service is just way too slow. We actually got our cooked food quicker than our sushi which is surprising since a guy had to season and blowtorch a raw fish to al dente before the sushi chef could cut us a few pieces. I know they can do better because they have, when I first came here, and not to mention the chefs are all the same — I suspect management is forcing the chefs to serve more slowly and with more rice, because there is no way they forgot how to slice properly and are staring at their boards all day.

I wanted to hit up a different sushi spot and since I was around Encino, I decided to check this place out. One, parking is pretty hard to find when it’s extremely busy. Two, customer service isn’t that great. I was sitting at my table for a good 10 minutes just looking at all the waiters pass me by. Keep in mind, this place is new to me. I don’t know anything about this restaurant. So the fact that no one was helping me through the menu was very annoying. Three, the menu is horrible. it’s just printed on a piece of paper. It’s too much for a new customer. I got kind of flustered cause there’s too many choices. At least make your menu interesting. The menu is already clustered and the fact that no one was helping me out was so rude. I’m not saying that I have no knowledge in ordering Japanese Cuisine, but it’d be nice to have some help when you’re a new customer. It’s a very small place too. No hatred towards this place, but please clean up your menu. It’s an extremely big menu.

Over the last year, this has become one of my regular sushi spots. I have been here a couple of times and each time the sushi has been pretty good. I have never had the all you can eat option, which is $ 29/peraon, but the a la carte option is really good to try some traditional and new sushi rolls. I have had the calamari appetizer, as well as the laker roll, clipper roll, 911 roll and the rice nugget to name a few. Both the laker roll and the clipper roll are deep fried options. They are really good. The laker roll is a deep fried California roll while the clipper roll is a deep fried spicy tuna roll. The 911 roll is really good. It is a spicy tuna roll with avocado, chili and eel sauce. They do not accept American express, but they accept other credit cards.

This place is awesome if you are looking for a good all you can eat sushi. The costumer service isn’t always the best but they really try hard to get your food out to you as soon as possible. They are very good at making you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The people behind the sushi bar always greet you as you are walking in to be seated to your table. They really do make an effort to make your experience a good one. They also always keep your water glass full which is always good so you don’t have to keep asking for a refill. The sushi is out of this world. If you don’t like fresh fish then this might not be the best place for you because their raw rolls and hand rolls are amazing. I personally really enjoy the spicy scallop hand roll and as soon as you take the first bite you can tell they really have fresh scallops and seaweed because the scallop taste very fresh. The scallops don’t taste like they have been sitting in a fridge all day. And the sea weed is still very crunchy so it doesn’t soak up moister and stay very crunchy. Their all you can eat menu will not disappoint, they have it jammed packed with something for everyone. Unlike many other sushi places when you first walk in it does not smell like fish at all. I have been to many other places and the first thing you smell is the fish but at this place. When you first walk in it has this very fresh almost like lemon. When your food comes it smells amazing. I like to order the BSC roll and that has scallops on the top and it smell like cheese and garlic it is something amazing. I don’t know if it is really cheese but it smells like amazing. The only complaint I have about this place is that it is quite dark. They have their lights dimmed really low so it makes it hard to see things. I have very bad vision as it is and walking in there when it is sunny out side is like walking into a dark hole. When you walk out too, the sun hit you and you are blinded. But I guess what really matters is the food and in that department they are really good. Defiantly a place to check if you enjoy really good sushi.

I’ve eaten here many times. Honestly, depending on who makes your sushi, this is the best ayce sushi. Price is great. Quality is good. Flavors are tasty and well-balanced. Service is decent. I’ve tried other places, but Midori is my fave. I can’t wait to come back ;)

I came here for the all you can eat on a busy Thursday night. The place was super packed but the service was still outstanding. The quality of the fish was amazing and the wait staff was attentive. The menu was fully loaded with a lot of options for everything. Sashimi, hand roll, cut rolls, and speciality rolls, they had it all. The speciality rolls are especially amazing. Parking situation wasn’t that good as it was a dimly lit parking lot but we managed and made it in! The bathrooms are clean. At $ 28.95 for all you can eat, we got what we paid for.

I’ve had my fair share of AYCE sushi and I have experienced both ups and downs. In this instance I have had frequented this place twice and I must say, the second time did not fail to disappoint my previous disappointments. Being in a party of 6 right when they open on Sunday at 12:00 P.M. I was a little aghast at how little frequented our table was serviced. Though the service was mediocre(at least satisfying) I felt with the amount of nonexistent people there we could have been frequented more often. There were various times that we’d have to wait quite a while to get the attention of a passing waiter/waitress. But enough of that, this review is to mainly review their food. On the side note half their waiter/waitress are Thai so I can converse with them in Thai. I might not look like one but I am a sushi connoisseur. I LOVESUSHI! I hate those overly coated mayonnaise glazed/covered«sushi» rolls. No, not at all. I like sashimi and nigiri and awesome quality fish. That is where everything went wrong. Half of their nigiri had ponzu sauce layered on the bottom of the rice. In combination with the already tartness of the sushi rice, the ponzu sauce added an additional layer of vinegar that it so greatly displeased my entire party. The salmon nigiri was mediocre. The salmon quality itself was lacking, almost to the point where I could have gone to Costco and bought a fillet to cut and make myself. The Uni sushi was actually surprisingly good. The first time I had it I could tell it wasn’t fresh. Perhaps because we were the first ones there, their uni sushi was more fresh than the previous time. It was sweet and creamy, but by no means was it the best I’ve ever had. Their salmon skin salad was good, it had never disappointed. Their tuna nigiri and the seared tuna sigiri was the saddest disappointment of all. The tuna nigiri was not fresh by all means. It was obvious it was last night’s left over stuck in the fridge left out to dry in the fridge. As for the seared Tuna they put ponzu sauce in the bottom! It was so sour that we decided we no longer could eat anymore. How gravely disappointing. I would not be coming back here anymore unless someone begs me to go or drags me there against my will.
