Placida Grill

This is a great place! One of the locals told us to go here. We’ve been twice and both times the food was great. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, I believe. The food, no matter what you order, is consistently good.

We were lured to stop by the reviews on Unilocal and I’m sure glad we did. We had a great lunch on our way to Boca Grande without the pretentiousness of a restaurant in Boca. The fish tacos were great, as was the service.

Killer shrimp entrée was very good, had the Caesar salad and that was just ok. We had the banana rum Crème brûlée for dessert and that was delicious. Service was ok, we waited over an hour for our meal though and everything was very slow.

Went here today for lunch. My friend had the Huevos Rancheros and I had the American Burger. The Huevos looked great and he said it was fantastic. My burger was (without exaggeration) the best burger I’ve had in a long long time. It was charred just enough and a perfect medium, but the quality of the meat was out of sight. You could actually taste the beef. The prices were great especially for the quality of both the food and service. Will be a regular!!!

Placida Grill is an unassuming little place on the side of the road that I wouldn’t have looked twice at if not for its excellent reputation. Man, is it awesome! It’s surprisingly hard to get good and fresh seafood at restaurants around Englewood. I’m not sure why that is, but it’s frustrating. Placida Grill does it right, though. I have never had better fried oysters, and their fries are great too. I’m sure everything else on the menu is also delicious but I love their oysters so much I never get anything else! The cole slaw is good too — really unusual and pickly. Desert has never let me down, either. And the servers have always been really nice. I have nothing bad to say!

A wonderful gem of a restaurant. Wonderful fish tacos, visual presentation was mouth watering, taste exceptional, and don’t forget they’re award winning bread pudding!

Who knew??? that such a great restaurant was so close to home. As others stated in their reviews the fried oysters were awesome. Lightly battered and no strong fishy taste. The salmon tostados was devoured and the sauce wiped clean with an extra freshly baked roll. You have to try the bread pudding… it’s made with croissants… simply awsome. Pricing was a little higher then other restaurants in the area… but the quality of the food and the great service makes it worth every penny. Just one visit and you’ll be back…

The best place to eat in Englewood. My wife and I went on Saturday night and had a great meal. We took our own wine, she had scallops and I had the tuna. It could not have been better, we split key lime pie desert which was VERY good, a top two KLP I have ever had.
We also had appetizers as well

This restaurant is a «must visit»! You will not be disappointed. Their menu is fairly small, which is ok because they do everything so well. Service is always exceptional! Very nice people!

The lovely girlfriend and I had a fantastic dinner at the placida grill. We tried the fried oysters, the killer shrimp and the caprese special and all three were absolutely delicious! We especially enjoyed the coconut sauce that the shrimp came in as well as the mozzarella cheese that came with the caprese salad!
For dinner I had shrimp and scallops scampi which was delicious, and the lovely girlfriend had a wedge salad with a side of the seafood bisque. Everything was perfect.
Our service could not have been better, lauren was extremely personable and gave us great insight on the menu. She did an outstanding job! Great service! Thanks lauren!

We ate lunch here one day after golf. It was very nice. Great service and quiet. I had a delicious burger and a salad. Hubby had fried fish fingers. They were huge and he said delicious. Some of the best in the area. I think the fish was Mahi-​mahi.

Had dinner tonight with mom. It was outstanding! Great food. Nice choices of beer and wine. Bbq rib special was outstanding coming with sides of orzo Mac and cheese, sweet corn pudding and streamed veggies. I had the Thai shrimp with basmati rice. Great meal. Followed by a slice of key lime pie. My new favorite place. Oh, and great service! I’ll be back!

I will definitely come back! The food was well prepared and very tasty. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Ask for Lauren. Great selections and the ambience good for conversation.

This restaurant delivered absolutely delicious dishes! I had the Lane Snapper which came in that same afternoon and was cooked to perfection. My dinner date had the Salmon Tostada Stack which was delightful! Then for dessert we had the award winning bread pudding which was exquisite! We highly recommend the Placida Grill!

We are locals and this is our go to place! We have never been disappointed. Today’s craft beer and shrimp platter off of the bar menu was perfect served by Colleen. Reservations for dinner is suggested as they have been discovered! Dinners have always been special. You can expect the freshest ingredients no matter what menu! They do it right here!

We stopped in for lunch on the recommendations of Unilocal reviews. Don’t judge a book by its cover. The setting in a non-​description strip mall, and the name of the restaurant suggested we were in for casual pub style food. That notion immediately was put aside as we entered. Staff were very professional. They have a seriously good wine list, not your usual mass market supermarket wine (anyone who has Cakebread on their wine list is the real deal.) I am not a beer «snob,» but their beer list was not your usual Bud-​Coors-​etc. selections. We had a lovely Pinot Noir.
I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. Awesome! My wife is a crab cake fan, and had a salad topped with a crab cake she described as «delicious!» With the comfortable dining room, superb food and serious beverage choices, I can’t wait to come back for dinner.

Excellent food. I had the killer shrimp and it was the best meal I’ve had since moving here. My husband liked the chicken Marsala. My father had the Kobe beef slider which came with 3 good sized sliders, said they were delicious. The killer shrimp comes with rice and a wonderful coconut sauce reminiscent of really good curry. Along with crusty French bread for soaking up all that coconut goodness.

Thank you local « Unilocalers». We are new to the area and followed you’re reviews and suggestion to Placida Grill. As soon as we walked in the door the bartender greeted us with a smile and let us know one of the hostesses/​waitress would be right back. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodated specials food requests without batting a pretty eyelash.
The food was excellent — the Killer Shrimp was a perfect mix of spicy and sweet.
Great staff and excellent food — I’m certain this will become a favored local eatery.

We arrived at Boca Vista Harbors in Placida for a couple days of vacation. This is the first time we have vacationed in this part of FL. Of course, we weren’t sure where to go for dinner. We knew we wanted fish. While checking out the complex, we visited with 2 couples in the swimming pool area and they recommended that we go to the Placida Grill.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall but once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. When you enter the restaurant, there is an intimate bar area with about 10 bar stools. There is also a high top table which seats 4, that is where we sat. In the adjacent room is more seating. The tables were all set up with linen tablecloths.
The bartender was knowledgeable on the selection of craft beers and wine. He was extremely friendly.
Our waitress was outgoing, polite and did a great job explaining the specials of the day. Besides the regular menu, they also had a bar menu. J ordered the Shrimp Poor Boy sandwich with french fries. He felt there was nothing special about his sandwich, bland no flavorful shrimp or sauce. I ordered the Quinoa Salad with Blackened Salmon and it was delicious and flavorful. I love salads with a crunch factor & the pumpkin & sunflower seeds did the trick.
The prices were comparable to other restaurants that we have dined at. I would have given it 5 stars as I loved my salad & would go back & ordered it again but with J not impressed with his sandwich, 4 stars it is.
