Bistro 349

Excellent food. Everything is made to order, they can make any changes to a dish. The waiter who served us was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Definitely will be coming back!!!

So this Italian Restaraunt used to be Michael’s Cucinna in Manalapan then named Café Spezia now it is called Bistro 349. This has same chef, staff and basically menus items with some differences.
We order two appetizers. The first was the potato crusted crab cake. It was done very well with a lot of crab and not bready at all. Also ordered the shrimp Chelsea. This is shrimp and sauce served in a bread «boat». Excellent Shrimp count and the sauce was great with the dish.
Entrées ordered were traditional chicken Parmesan, lasagna and eggplant rotellini.
The lasagna was a large helping as was everything else. (Be prepared to take food home) the lasagna sauce was very good. Not bitter or acidic and had carrots and meat The meat sauce was very hearty and a well done dish. Like grandma made it.
The chicken Parmesan was also a large portion. The chicken was breaded and pounded thin. It was moist and had a crisp first bite. The sauce was the same as the eggplant sauce so it must be the house marinara sauce as a base. It is very good garlic and tomato base and not acidic.
Service was very good. But then again we were early and basically had the place to ourselves. However this is a place people should try. It’s very good food with very good portion sizes. Entrée were $ 14 – 18 and each appetizer was $ 14. I gave it 5 star because I could not find any fault this evening. Definite recommendation for fine family style Italian food. Try it on Route 9 in Manalapan.

Been here at least three times and have never been let down with anything. Service, food, and very affordable (but that’s between us patrons). If you live in the area and enjoy great food its a must. Make reservation on weekends.

Definitely the best Italian food had in a long time. Service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Portion sizes were pretty large. Did not have room for dessert however when they brought the tray out I quickly changed my mind. Our appetizer we had one of the best eggplant rollatini ever for my entrée i had the chicken Nan which was such a chicken breast with eggplant mozzarella over spinach. For dessert we had the brownie sundae. No complaints about this restaurant other than it’s a little too small. I would definitely recommend making reservations. We will definitely be back

Great people, great service, amazing food and service. Just what you want when it comes to enjoying great service in a family style atmosphere 5 stars you will not be disappointed
