Cheeburger Cheeburger

I’d ideally give 3.5 stars — hit or miss. Pros — Love the concept — LOVE the various topping choices for one price — and they have even put some «on the side» when I asked for them to be served that way. Hit or miss in terms of food quality/​service. On some nights, they were dropping plates (literally), were short staffed and had kitchen appliance malfunction — other times, got served relatively promptly. Sometimes meat is cooked well as asked, more often than not, it’s still pink or red inside, and needs to be sent back. (That’s unfortunate). I love their fries when crispy — good onion rings too. And I don’t know if changed but they used to give an AWESOME and very nice sized portion of salad with their platters. I’d be sad if this place ever went out of business. I really like their Manalapan location. One other comment: their shakes /​floats are way too pricey for what they give. For the same money, go to Wegman’s nearby, buy a GALLON of ice cream and 2 liters of root beer and make floats for the entire family! :-) Of course, if you want more variety of flavors, and you don’t mind the price, you can just order in the restaurant.

ts a nice classic burger joint with a 1950’s theme to it… Food was very good… Burgers were tasty and juicy and they give you tons of options when choosing toppings, cheese and bread. Fries were fresh. Staff was a little off and seemed confused at times… Inside dining area could use a facelift… Otherwise, it’s very good.

Cool representation of a 50’s styled dining experience. Burgers and fries are absolutely fantastic, with the sides and appetizers also being pretty good. Owner is present as we’re dining which is also always nice. I would’ve given this place a 5 but a new employee who was really messing our stuff up kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

The new management has caused my favorite burger place to become inconsistent.
The food: I am not a fan of the way the do their burgers and fries now. They for some reason switched to using that artificial yellow American cheese, yuck! The last burger I got here seemed like the cook was in a rush resulting in cheese on only half my burger! How disappointing as this is one of the best parts of a burger! It only takes 2 seconds of extra effort to ensure the cheese is on the middle of the burger party. Their fries no longer have that delicious seasoning on them they are just bland and don’t stand out among the many fries out there.
The place: This place has just become sad. The people who works there are lifeless and not friendly at all. They’re not rude but the place overall doesn’t have the same feel as it used to.
Overall sad to see this place go downhill. Will probably take my business down the road to Five Guys in the future as they are VERY consistent and delicious.
Update: This place stepped it up and has been pretty good the past couple times. Still not the same as they used to be, but good enough to keep me coming back for their delicious burgers!

This is a decent place, although the service is often inept, as it’s run by high schoolers. I can imagine Beavis and Butthead behind the grill, with some of the things I’ve been dished here. It’s good, not stand out. Nothing special, but solid burgers, shakes, macaroni and cheese fried bites, and other goodies. Next time, I’ll try a salad, as I could imagine that mitigating some of the disgusting, bloated feeling you can get after eating here. The onion rings dipped in a horseradish sauce are off the charts, though.

This place has the best burgers ever. Love getting their one pounders! I always bring my family and friends to this place. Also, their milkshakes are amazing! You can’t compare this place to any burger place. This is simply the best.

New owner. Has upgraded the food menu by using all approved foods and recipes not like previous owner taking shortcuts and buying food local supermarkets and not from approved vendor. I think quality is back, things being done the correct way. Good tastes great. Very friendly

Came here last night we both got burgers medium well and D got loaded fries and N got regular fries. N also got one of their shakes. And we both shared their fried mac and cheese apps
Let’s start off with their appetizer– basic, nothing special and they give you a cup of fake cheese to go along with it. Not worth the $ 5.
Now they amazed me with their loaded fries. I had never thought fries could be so dry even with all the beans and cheese and crap they put on the loaded fries. Really wowed me how they did that.
Now on to the burgers both burgers were very bland and very dry. They messed up D’s burger and gave him well done. Whatever. Food was VERY dissapointing.
Shake– tasted like a basic shake but was very thin, there was no point of giving N a spoon along with it.
Now what really wowed us was our server, Lewis. THE ENTIRE GODDAMN TIME ALL HE DID WAS GOSSIP WITH HIS CO WORKERS. If you’re not here to work might as well leave. I also saw him piss off one of his coworkers. It was extremely unprofessional. He was barely there and it took him 10minutes to realize we wanted to leave and get the check. We gave him 10% and we were being nice. The last straw was that he went up front and we could hear him complaining about the tip. Excuse me but common sense deems that if you want a good tip you should actually do your job and stop gossiping with you coworkers and actually wait on your customers. Thnx.

I dont understand all the positive reviews of this place. The onion rings and shakes are good. But the namesake burgers are just discusting. The burgers appears only to be cooked well done and resemble a hockey puck. No matter how you order it, it only comes WELL done. I guess if you like hockey pucks you will like this place

The food is great but probably the worst service I ever had at the Route 9 englishtown location. 25min wait just to get a order for drinks and it was nowhere near busy. One waitress actually gave me an attitude for asking what’s taking so long. These servers need to go back to core training

Now that my friends is how you do a burger
When you get sick of eating shit like Mcdonalds or whatever half assed or god knows if its even a burger this is definitely the way to go.
So lets see what I had so far
Burgers? Cutstomizable? Sign me up!
Shakes? Which you can combo and get creative with multiple flavors? Hell yeah!
Fries? Double hell yeah!
I still have yet to try everything else but lets just say its all good.
Staff there also are pretty nice from what I’ve seen.
Flaws? Ummmm hmm. Eh just the prices I guess. Maybe I’m just cheap: P
So yeah burger fans and what have you. You wont be disapointed check this out if youre in the area.

Cheeburger has a great retro type theme going on if you are dining in. I would recommend getting the fried macaroni and the shakes. They have a wide variety of flavors for your shake to accommodate every type of palate. As for their burgers, I’ve had better which is warranting this 3 star rating. It’s great that there are a plethora of toppings, but I found the burger itself to be just okay. The 1 pound burger challenge is always a good bonding experience with friends. If you want a family burgers and fries experience, this is a decent spot.

I love this place! If you’re looking for just a great burger and fries this is place for you! You can pick whatever you want on the burger and they make it! Also the milkshakes are amazing. Definitely a great restaurant.

When I went to Cheeburger Cheeburger when it first opened the staff was great, food was great, and overall it was a very appealing restaurant. However, recently the staff has become horrible. The staff is filled with high school students who don’t care about customer service. When I went last night, it took my waitress a full 20 minutes after taking my order to get my soda. We got 1 milkshake and a burger before we even got our drinks. It took forever to get the check and all I wanted to do was walk out. I was so dissatisfied. Only reason why I gave a 2 instead of 1 is because I like the burgers. However, the customer service makes me never want to go there.

My family and I enjoy eating at Cheeburger Cheeburger, the menu choices are great, the service has always been good and the food good, as well. Excellent generous free toppings to choose from.
My only complaint – today the condiments at the table (salt and pepper shakers, and ketchup bottle) were very greasy and really needed to be cleaned.
Otherwise, perfect.

Chee Burger Chee Burger is an awesome place for a burger and shake. They have tons of toppings in which you can use to customize your burger (similar to Five Guys, but I think Chee Burger might have more). Many are free (i.e. Pineapple, Jalapeño Peppers, etc) but there are a few that you’d have to pay for (i.e. Bacon, Guac, etc). As for their shakes, they literally have tons of flavors that you can mix and match to create your own unique shake. Their Fries and Onion Rings are awesome too and they even have an option called «Best of Both» that allows you to get both for all you indecisive people out there. You can also get sauces for your Fries/​Onion Rings (Creamy Cheese, Zesty Horseradish, Creamy Jalapeño, Garden Veg, and Marshmallow). And don’t worry, if you’re with any non-​burger fans, they have other things on the menu such as Sandwiches, Salads, and Wraps. And they even have a Gluten-​Free menu!
You can’t go wrong here if you’re in the mood for a burger and milkshake!

Onion Rings: ok nothing special.
Why did I only score a 3 then? Nothing blew me away. Burger meat wasnt stand out, nothing was stand out. Also I left feeling extremely greasy, good burgers dont do that to you, they leave you feeling satisfied and full.
Overall I’d deem it nothing special. Not bad though, just not good.

Pricey but the turkey burger, sweet potato fries & sauces (veggie) were good.

Sometimes I just crave a basic burger. I think for the price, the burgers are pretty decent. I got mine medium and it wasn’t overcooked or undercooked. I like that you have a wide range of topping options including fries, coleslaw, and onion rings. The bun is soft and the right size for the burger. I would pass on the milkshake though, it was nothing spectacular.

Went here with my little brother after christmas shopping in Freehold mall. The setting was like Johnny Rockets! 50s to 60s setting. We didnt have to wait and sat right in. The place was pretty busy on a Thursday.
We decided to both have burgers. Little brother tried the 2 pounder burger, and I wanted to finish the 1 pounder. Then get our picture on the wall of fame! ;) I threw in some chilli, onion strings, pepper jack cheese and bbq sauce on my burger. Little brother had onion strings on his and cheddar cheese, and something else I dont remember. For our drinks, you GOTTA have hazelnut milkshake… its one of the best milk shakes that I have ever tasted. Im ordering two next time I go back here.
Finished my burger in 15 minutes… I struggled a bit at the end because we also ordered a basket of onion rings… A bit much i thought. My little brother had 5 more bites to go and couldnt hang! Overall, the food was delicious.
Out waitress Vicky was super sweet and friendly. She was also very good with checking up on us. Definitely one of the best waitresses we had in a long time. Will go back here again.
