I love this place! The service is always great and the owner Matt is extremely helpful. You can tell he puts his life into his flower arrangements.
Don’t buy grocery store flowers.

I needed a client gift, and thought I’d wander in and support a local merchant. The store was deserted and sparsely stocked. As I looked around (since I was apparently alone in the place), I noticed most arrangements on display were faux flowers, I assume for longevity.
A nonchalant gent wandered out from the back office and seemed annoyed that I was there. With no sense of urgency, he informed me that they were unable to fulfill my needs (a small bouquet for the loss of a pet). He pointed to a board with many different flower names on it, and explained matter-​of-​factly that they were very low on stock, and wouldn’t be going to the wholesalers’ for a couple of days.
He wasn’t sorry to be losing a customer. Didn’t even say goodbye as I left, and he went back to whatever he’d been doing in the back.

The flower barrel is amazing! They did my wedding and I couldn’t be happier! Everything was perfect and they completely understood what I wanted! The price is unbeatable for the work they do! I would recommend them to anyone who needs flowers for any occasion!

I have driven by The Flower Barrel here on ElNorte in Escondido, about a bajllion times (yes, exactly one bajillion) as I live a block or so away. This tried them out for flowers this past Valentines day and I am glad I did. I would much rather use a local florist that I can meet and trust, rather than a big online ordering service. I made it pretty simple for them, which often causes many other businesses of this nature to falter I have found in either cutting corners with price or quality. I walked in and simply asked for a dozen roses to be delivered to my wife’s local work on Valenties day. The price was good, about average with similar offerings around town, the bouquet that arrived showed up early in the morning, which was great… it had 1 dozen long stem roses, some accompanying trim flowers, a glass vase, and some nifty little re heat shaped trim. Pieces added in. Nice to see they didn’t just wrap up 12 red roses. Now comes the second layer to the onion… as pretty as these flowers «were» they did begin to wilt pretty quickly even within the proper conditions. I sent a quick email to the Flower Barrel thru their website simply explaining what had happened and asking if they had a guarantee on their flowers. The next day I received both a call and email with an invitation to bring them in for exchange. My wife stopped in and exchanged them, which went smooth, without any second guessing or complaints. They really backed up their product with great service… and for that reason we will be back. The Flower Barrel is a great example of buying local being a great advantage to both the business and the consumer.

Flower Barrel has come through for me again! the roomie & I forgot to get a lei for her brothers graduation TONIGHT. I called them at 11am, said they could have a lei in his school colors ready for me at 4pm. I talked to Matt on the phone & he was wicked helpful, letting me know all their options, prices etc. I will continue to keep coming here!

My husband ordered flowers from here, paid 60 $ for a cheap looking arrangement, then had them deliver… oh wait to the wrong house!!! And then when we asked for a refund she asked for the flowers back. Women that works here very unfriendly made a comment she had no business making, and didn’t know how to work her own cash register to give us the refund. I would never suggest anyone go here better quality flowers at you neighbor Vons.

I got the double alstroemeria as a boutonnière for my prom date, and the service was quick and easy. The guy was fantastic and very nice. However, I didn’t really like the flower. It wasn’t so much their fault I suppose. It was more or less my choice of flower. I know not to pick that one next time haha. It was just small and kinda shriveled (that was the flower type; they kept the flower fresh). I wanted something big that stood out! Oh well. They still offered great service. I’ll get better flowers next time!

The Flower Barrel did the flower arrangements for our wedding and they turned out AMAZING. They brought my idea to life and we received sooo many compliments. They did amazing work and worked with my floral budget.

Just called at 1020 to see if they could do a same-​day delivery for a new mother at the Camp Pendleton naval hospital. The cut-​off time is 1000. The lady was very cold and said no. No sense of compassion or attempt to care. What a true disappointment. I will shop at their competitor, regardless of the price difference.

Stopped by here for a quick surprise gift for the wife.
They do custom bouquets mostly (20 – 30 bucks), but have a few pre-​made items for about 10 bucks. Wife loved them.

I just called and placed an order for a ‘get well’ bouquet, complete with the 15% discount advertised on Unilocal.It couldn’t have gone any smoother; very friendly and patient with me. The delivery isn’t until next week, so I’ll need to update my review later with that half of the order. So far, so good!
Update ⁴⁄₁₃ — The flowers were received and according to the recipient they were awesome and just what she needed to cheer her up. I saw a little photo of them on my phone and they did look very good. 2 thumbs up!
