IHOP

Despite going on a Sunday they have fast seating and the attention and food is always good.
Somer is the best waitress!

So we are currently sitting in ihop, we are the only people here. We let our server know that we needed anothwr minute to decide on what we were getting. Hmmmm about 13 minutes later, after standing in the kitchen talking to another server both looking over casually a few times, the other server noticed me staring at them. She immediately told our server to come over, and realized there were more customers waiting to be seated also. Our server came over, laughed and asked if we were ready. Really? I was about to call the restaurant to let them know we were ready to order now. This is sorry customer service.

Seriously slow! They now use «cheese sauce» to substitute some of the cheese inside the omelet! I found this out while eating an omelet and it oozed out the last half of the omelet! It looked like mayo but thinner! They still use «real cheese» on the top, to look good from the outside! When I asked the waitress to identify the substance she said «cheese sauce» and offered me a new one! Really! GROSS!!!

Very average experience, depressive atmosphere. Our server Alex took our order after 10 min sitting with menu. However, we got coffee from bass lady pretty quick. Good was good, but service is average. I was looking for 5 – 7 min for anyone to order more coffee. Servers were doing side work and didn’t care. Alex was very busy with other tables.

Had breakfast this morning with my Mom and my wife. They were busy as usual, but we were able to get a booth quickly. The food was good, but my harvest nut and grain pancakes were not quite hot enough to melt the butter. I was okay with that since I had an omelette to eat before I got to the pancakes. We ate breakfast and then talked for a while and our waiters were always attentive and did not rush us.

The food is what you expect, yummy and oh so fattening. The servers are friendly and quick. The seating is crowded, though, with far too many tables for the space.
That said, why are they so expensive? $ 9.49 for a Belgian waffle with no sides? $ 7.69 for the senior breakfast of two eggs, two strips of bacon, and two pancakes? I go to places like this for fast, good food, but at those prices I’d rather go to Coco’s.

Been coming to this IHOP for 3 – 4 years now. Never had any issues. There have been a few times where service could have been a little quicker but it’s not like we were dying. We just got to enjoy each other’s company some more!

Breakfast sampler which is the best for a hungry breakfast, many of their flavored pancakes, their appetizers are tasty, the club sandwiches are soooo good!
You can’t go wrong here!

Food is good if you like IHOP. Don’t come here though if you’re in a hurry. Your service will take forever and most people speak broken English. The only time I got fast service was when I came in alone at almost midnight on a weekend and I was the waiters first customer of the night.

We waited 1 hr. There where tables available. There were other people after us that got seated before. so we left…

Food was average which is what I expect here but what disappointed me was a parking lot littered with giant IHOP to go cups and straws littering the green area and grocery carts in the handicap parking space.
There was a hostess or waitress parking in the tiny lot instead of over in the big shopping center.
My waiter came over a number of times but never bothered to remove the finished dishes and empty creamer cups. Come on IHOP, this is basic neglect in training!

Been coming to this location for 10+ years. Alway good service. Great spot to stop for breakfast anytime of day. Prices are very reasonable and dont think they have raised much in the ten years i have been coming here, which says alot. Try the chicken fried steak they have a great receipe. They get you in and put so you never have to wait to long. 4 out 5 stars!

Look. My daughter wanted to go for the «free» pancakes they advertised on «National Pancake Day». Whatever, I just wanted coffee and breakfast. I was willing, and in fact eager, to pay for whatever we received, which ended up being nothing since we walked out.
We needed to be at San Marcos High School at 8:05 and and after arriving at 7am (opening time) we hadn’t even had our order taken at 7:30 (no coffee, no waitress, no nothing, we were completely ignored) and so we walked out and went to Starbucks to get a coffee before school because we couldn’t get service at IHOP. Worse, when we left the four people lounging at the front wished us a «nice day».
Are you serious? How about you take our order and serve us food for God’s sake? That’s why we came in after all. Unbelievable. Screw you IHOP, screw you.
i have lived in SM for 15+ year and will NEVER be back to IHOP in SM or elsewhere else, EVER. I am sick and GD tired of being treated like my business doesn’t matter. You ruined my day IHOP and I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE YOU AGAIN.

Place was packed tonight. National Pancake day today so everyone and their grandma came for a free short stack. Showed up at 6:32 and said it was going to be a half hour to 45 minute wait. They took my name and I walked to kahoots. Killed 22 minutes browsing around looking at the fish and parakeets. Went back and asked to see how long the wait was. When I gave them my name they said that they had called me and skipped my name to the next couple that were in the queue. A manager had overheard and asked ‘for two?’ I said yeah and we were seated immediately. After that everything went well. It was awesome that they accommodated us so quickly. Service did take longer but that was because of Ihop’s self-​proclaimed holiday. I even got a survey to fill out online for another free short stack. All in all great experience.

The food is fine here but the service sucks (all of it). I mean my God, what happened to hiring friendly, people — oriented waitresses and waiters who speak decent ENGLISH for God’s sake?!! I no longer go to this location.

Service is good food is a hit and miss on the weekend due to being so busy but during the week the food and service is good fast and delicious and never had an issue

This has been the worst service I have ever witnessed. I would give out 0 stars if I could. After being seated by the nice manager, we sat and waited for 20 minutes without a server coming by. It wasn’t until my companion got up to speak with the manager that we were even able to get a drink. The manager ended up taking our order. Then we waited another 15 minutes before our food arrived. That was delivered by the most rude and insulting server it has been my misfortune to deal with. She dropped the plates with very little care and had a grumpy annoyed look on her face when I asked for water. After she brought that by she disappeared and never came by our table again. I saw her ignore other tables in our section, and when another customer requested a towel for a spill she stormed off in an annoyed huff before coming back and dropping the towel in the woman’s hand. When she finally dropped off our bill 10 minutes after we finished eating with what could have been a mildly insulting «here you kids go» became majorly insulting with the gruff annoyed tone she spoke with. We have never given out a 0% tip, ever, but this server totally deserved it.
Seriously, if you’re in Escondido and you want to eat at IHOP, go to the one on East Valley Parkway. The one on El Norte just sucks.

I’m not sure what problems people had in past, but this place was a typical IHOP. Service was quick and the server was attentive to our request. Food was good. No problems to report!

The food and service at IHOP is great. I went there for breakfast and I really can’t complain. Food isn’t AMAZING, but it is really good. Quit looking for another option already and just go here. They have lots of options and you won’t regret it. I recommend the peach pancakes. Oh, and bacon. ALWAYS bacon.

Stopped by recently after about a ten year absence since moving away from Escondido. Food seemed about the same. I ordered one of the healthy options that included turkey bacon, eggs, and pancakes. The turkey bacon was pretty gross in appearance and taste. I think next time I’ll get the regular one and just run a half an hour. It’ll probably be well worth it.
Service is ok. The waiter forgot to bring my coffee cup so I had to remind him. Other than that, no real problems. If you’re looking for a GREAT breakfast, there are probably other better options around the area but it’s IHOP. Quick and easy.
