Worst experience I’ve ever had walking into the store 15min before closing. The girl working this evening was not inviting at all although asking what I needed. She was irritated after letting her know that I was just looking around. Also, over hearing another coworker and her talking. Him asking her, «why did you get so irritated by his comment?,» then they started laughing. It was very uncomfortable so I decided to leave rather than looking around. This is the day before Mother’s Day around 8:45pm just in case management reads this.

Love this spot will always shop here for my shoes they always seen to have shoes that I like on clearance its a score for me because instead of getting one pair for like 80 to 100. I get 2 or sometimes 3 pairs on how much they cost. I saw some etnies but decided not to get because I have some shoes I still haven’t even worn yet. So yeah thanks journeys

Journeys is surprisingly still standing. Store is the size of a shoebox with no AC. Had a return w/receipt and the Manager(?) stocky blonde guy, wouldn’t accept my return unless I provided him my cell phone number. Even after providing him my address and email. Because of his rude attitude and hassle the incident was, I won’t be shopping there again.

Journey’s has been with the Escondido Mall since I was a teenager in the early 90’s. It’s gone through a few changes in the store size since then, and where it’s at right now, the size could not feel more cramped. Originally, I thought of the place in the 90’s as a Hot Topic-styled, trendy shoe shop where I could try on the new Doc Marten’s while listening to the latest music video reel via their own video channel. Very cool concept back in the day for a teenager. Right now, it feels a bit like a garage filled with shoes, socks, and shirts. The business of trying on shoes could not feel more awkward in a cramped environment. They offer several new styles and trends in footwear, but the variety is still lacking, especially in larger sizes(I wear a 13⁄14 men’s shoe, so I’m used to stores not having these sizes, but still). The walls are littered with black & gray tattoo-styled shirts for wannabe gangsters and thuggish youths. The staff is friendly, though, and they are a help with finding similar styles. Overall, the biggest drawbacks are the size and selections available in the store. They have lost what charm they had since back in the day, and now they’re just in need of a redesign(Those poles displaying new styles of shoes are horrendous) and I wish they would just stop chasing the typical styles of the time. Overall, I would say that they are mediocre, but I did purchase my last pair of Lugz from there, so I have to give them some credit.
