This is such a wonderful place. The owner and staff are very friendly. They have a nice dining room to eat in. Their mini tacos are amazing. They are now my favorite comfort food. Best garlic shrimp I’ve ever had.

Came in the other night for a late night fix after spending all day unpacking. Came around 9PM(mainly came here because no other place seemed to be open this late that was close to us) and no one was here. Ample parking seeing as it is in a shopping center. This is a more typical hole in the wall Mexican place that is super common in the area. You walk up to the front, order from the menu, pay, and then next door there is plenty of seating available. I ordered a fish taco and an order of rolled tacos w/guac. Since I was the only person in there I was able to just hang out and watch the chef prepare the food. I saw him take the fried fish and rolled tacos out of grease where they had been sitting in the fryer for who knows HOW long. He didn’t even bother to turn ON the fryer to make the food warm. Gross. So what I ended up getting were grease drenched rolled tacos and fish taco that had been just sitting in grease. yum. Not. I wish the fish taco would’ve been fresh because the sauce/toppings and quantity in size were decent. However, it left me with a stomach ache and I would not come back here again. Maybe if it was busier and I knew the food wasn’t sitting in grease for who knows how many hours?

Service not good. Customer ask for lemon and they said no. But later was given. That’s other reason why it’s my second time going and my last.

I’ve been living in SoCal for almost 10 years and this is probably the BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. The owner is super friendly and the food is super fresh and flavorful.

Great authentic Mexican food! We had shredded beef tacos, carne asada tacos and carne asada fries. Also beans and rice. The beans are fantastic! Very friendly owner great service too. It was our first time here but we will be coming back. As we sat and ate, many people who you could immediately tell were regulars kept coming in.

I LOVE Mexican food and Mi Hacienda has been my go to place for many years. They have the BEST beef tacos! The beef has great flavor and is always very moist and yummy. They also have GREAT refried beans. My favorite is Combination #8, 2 Beef Tacos with Rice & Beans. Their Pollo Asado Burritos are also super good! There you go, you know my favorites, and I have never been dissapointed.

Oh man! It’s been over a week since we were in San Diego =(We miss this place! We stayed in Escondido for one week and our goal was to try new places each day for food. But this place… this place saw us three times! While it’s not a 5 start type restaurant, the food is! The place isn’t fancy, it’s really the total opposite. Clean of course but it felt like we were visiting Mexico. Just how we like it! You know the food is going to be real! We ordered the garlic shrimp over rice, burrito and tacos and each were delish! Especially the garlic shrimp, if you go… order this! It comes with warm tortillas to wrap it all in and I can tell you, we wake up at night dreaming of this dish. Bonus, nice people working there. When we go back to San Diego, we live in Illinois, we will drive whatever distance to go back!

Stopped here on our way back from San Diego due to the excellent Unilocal reviews and my wife craving Mexican food. What a mistake that was! The place had a bunch of seedy people outside making an obstacle coarse to get to the entrance for starters. Once we entered it looked a little better. We had tacos and enchiladas which were both disgusting. We would have been better off picking any random place. I want to forget about the place but my stomach won’t let me. Unilocal has led me astray for the first time.

My family and I traveled from Tucson and found Mi Hacienda on Unilocal.I ordered a fish taco and the fish was battered and fried and perfectly cooked. It was piled high with cabbage, pico de gallo, a cream sauce and served on two corn tortillas. There is enough to make 2 tacos from one! Hubby ordered the carnitas torta and raved about how juicy and flavorful it was. Be forewarned, it was HUGE. Kids had a carne asada quesadilla and a shrimp taco, both tasty. The staff was extremely nice and brought us chips and a spicy, flavorful salsa before our meal came out. We felt like family!

The place has good food, but prices are higher than many others I’ve been to. What gets me the most though is the negative vibe… Camera surveillance warnings, no public restroom sign, do not accept torn bills, and the beverage station was blocked off with cup boxes and $ refill paper signs taped on the machines. I know the place is next to a bar, but the look and feel of the place gets worse each time I go. Just doesn’t give you that good happy feeling I want when I’m going to bring home tacos, open a bottle of wine(yes wine) and catch up on episodes of breaking bad on Netflix. You know the feeling. 4 stars for taste 2 for the rest

4 stars? Yup, I’m a fan! This place is about one mile from my house and has always been overlooked in favor of places more familiar to me. Well that was until I recently decided to hit up the North Bar next door. A little buzzed, I walked down the walkway for 15 feet and ordered a quick bite from Mi Hacienda. I was allowed to bring it back into the bar to enjoy. Turns out, the bar owners allow the folks at Mi Hacienda to bring the goodies you order to bar for you! Man, the grub tasted great! But hey, doesn’t alot of mexican food taste great after a few suds? Anew with curiosity, I went back again and ordered up a nice selection of items that included a quesadilla, tacos de cabeza, cheese enchilada and a carne asada taco, just meat. It was my pleasure to realize the food here really is super solid. Cabeza tacos were done perfectly, served in two small corn tortillas per, with a couple spoonfuls of cilantro/onion. The cheese enchiladas had a dark almost mole like colored sauce that was much much better than most places. They could be slightly improved by having a touch more cheese. Carne asada was good according to my dining partner and finally the quesadilla may be the best I’ve had with its combination of cheeses and the red sauce they serve. While there, I saw the lady prepping a big bowl of fresh shrimp, so I’m anxious to try something«seafood» related. If that turns out to be as good as what I’ve tried thus far, I might bump this up to a full five star mexi venue. Stacky Best Of Award™ Quesadilla/Red Sauce combo.

Nice place, my friend and I had a Carne Asada burrito with rice and beans and that was enough for lunch and dinner. It was also something I had no problem going back to the next time I went back for the leftovers. The guy that helped us out was very kind and had a good sense of humor. It wouldn’t shock me to hear that a lot of families from the nearby high school come here to eat. Good spot.
