My boyfriend and I love coming here. They have food mar far chicken and egg drop soup. We have date night here every once in awhile because it is very quiet inside. Tons of people picking up to go orders so I know they keep busy! Best Chinese food I’ve found in Eugene so far!

Well the food was good but the waitress was consistently on the phone texting so we had to go up to order and she ignored us and we had to remind her several times for this or that. The food was worth the trip. Maybe because it was a weeknight this happened but it was something that if I lived in the area I would have rated it lower. We saw several first timers come in and wander around like we did waiting to find out if we ordered at the counter or not. That was weird… I took so many photos of her on the phone just because I was bored, she never noticed… kind of funny.

Haven’t been to Hong Kong in 20 years. Came to Eugene for a visit & my husband who had the idea to go here for some old time food. While it has changed it wasn’t horrible. I was scared to eat, cus no one was in the restaurant at all. Over all it was better than mall Chinese food but not worth time or money.

Based on the Pork Fried Rice alone I’m surprised about the positive reviews for this place. I judge all Chinese restaurants on their Pork Fried Rice first and this is some of the worst I’ve had in years. I got it to go and the box was packed tight which is usually a good thing and there were quite a few pieces of BBQ Pork across the top. Sadly, the pork was dry and had a slightly odd flavor and there was none in the rice itself. There should always be small chunks throughout the rice. The rice itself was cheap, irregular size grains that packed together somewhat like a paste and lacked flavor, onion and any other vegetables. Well, actually there was some green onion, but it was a minuscule amount. I had heard good things, but I see no reason to try them again. I have been disappointed in every Chinese restaurant in Eugene so far. Vietnamese and Thai are much better options.

Miss this place like crazy! Best Egg Flower Soup money can buy! Highest quality ingredients in all their dishes, unlike any other Chinese place I’ve been to. Get some walk up window service and get some amazing pork chow mein… sweet and sour chicken is top notch. It’s a must eat every time I visit home!

The most miserable sorry excuse for chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve had some bad chinese food in my life but this place tops the list. got the general chicken, pork chow mien, BBQ pork and fried shrimp. this stuff was comparable to dog food. i forced myself to eat as much as possible because it cost me 11 dollars and was only able to suffer down about a quarter of the plate throwing in the towel. i NEVER leave leftovers but this time bringing leftovers home wasn’t even a thought that crossed my mind. i actually drove home so i could gag myself and throw up everything in my stomach.

The only thing I’ve had from here are the egg rolls and they were great! If you wanted something quick this is not a bad place to stop off for an order of egg rolls. They are huge and crunchy, just the way I like em’!

This best I way describe the food is it tastes like the place looks. It’s exactly the cheap Chinese food you think it is but marginally worse. If you’re looking for quantity of quality go to The Jail on Broadway.

Hong Kong Restaurant has operated in Eugene for a long time, and food quality, presentation, and service have remained roughly the same. It is a good place for lunch. We tried the Mar Far Shrimp special with vegetables and soft noodles, accompanied by egg flower soup and tea, all good.

Longtime Eugene mainstay, but it’s gone downhill. The last order we got there was pretty much inedible, featuring pork fried rice that was downright putrid, as in the pork was spoiled. The General [Tso’s?] Chicken was as soggy as you could ever not want, though the two bites I could stomach were tasty, even if the texture was squishy instead of crispy. Don’t eat here. I’d have given it one star if I hasn’t enjoyed it as a kid.

I had Hong Kong restaurant for the first time today, I did carry out and ordered the #6 it was good, greasy, priced right, and tasty enough for me to come back. The only thing I dislike was the chow mein, I thought it was suppose to be noodle based. And they charge extra if you order a combo plate for carry out… and they don’t include the soup for carry out(charging more for less. smh). Fried shrimp was my favorite part! I’ll update as I keep coming back

Hong Kong is a perfect lunch place to go. Courteous staff, affordable food and delicious also. I enjoy it. Go here not expecting upscale food but enjoy it for what it is.

It is what it is. Where can you go & get a real meal made fresh for less than $ 5? Here @ Hong Kong Restaurant in Eugene. I do lunch there regularly and have never been disappointed.

I usually order a combination plate to go. They package it in several of those little boxes with the wire handle. I take it home and one combination plate serves three adults or a bunch of kids. The food is consistently excellent, as good as the old fashioned American-Chinese food ever gets. Crispy where it is supposed to be, etc. This family run restaurant has been in business forever or so. Call ahead, they will have your order waiting for you when you arrive. Many people eat lunch here. The lunch specials rotate and are great!

I love getting the lunch specials. Apparently, the kids from nearby schools do also, since you can see them rrrrraaaaacing there for lunch, lol! If this were more of a sit down luxury place, I could see 5 stars but to be fair, due to the low budget ambience, it’s a four. The food is very good. No complaints about anything! Good value & the menu is reliably good!

I have been a customer for 25 years and have only had great experiences. It was great when I was single and has been amazing with kids. Very family friendly and they will even make vegetarian dishes for my picky 12year old. They will make a great ginger beef if you ask and their vegetarian egg flower soup is great. It is one of my favorites in the Eugene area

Have ate there NUMEROUS times and the food/service is consistant. Usually have the mar far chicken and pork fried rice. Sometimes I get on the wild side and order the pork chow mein instead of the pork fried rice. Regardless, it is always great. Nice family-ran business. No, you are not paying for a glitzy atmosphere here, just an honest meal at an honest price. Great for to go, also,
